I found her booth. Managed to catch her with a Sugilite cosplayer. it wasn't shit. greener than the pics in the steven universe thread, the wig was pretty good, aside from being a bit too light. Really all I have are nitpicks, and that her paint was badly done. I really wish she went with the visor. I was more impressed by the Sugilite's multiple eye prosthetics.

I had an amazing time meeting everyone from the /cgl/ meet up, and going to the bar, getting tipsy, and stumbling over to the "conference" afterwards. Y'all are fantastic! I can't wait for metrocon to do it again if yall are going to be there, I am going to Collective Con if anyone wants to meet up there for another meetup/ drinking session.

Such a lively con comparing Saturday to Friday.

Not much of an afterparty though. Me and a few mememes ended up just privately partying in our room. I feel like megacon's many and distant hotels ruin the partyhopping, and the 21+ event at the rosen was sardine-tight ridiculous. AFO and ChibiPa have probably spoiled us though.

Actually I've had the name Hanari since I was like 10 and yes I did get it legally changed recently. I can go on and tell you the story behind it but it largely involves my younger sister and my awful lonely childhood. Rebirth and renewal and symbolism and 'being better for the sake of being better' and all that ish.

And yeah I'll share my story why not. I'll preface by saying that this isn't supposed to be some sob story or anything this is just shit that's happened to me when I was a kid.

When I was 6 my mom abandoned me and my dad with absolutely no warning. I had a lot of trouble coping with it and blamed myself a lot and I didn't have many friends because I was the youngest in my grade. I had a lot of anger issues and depression issuesand I acted out a lot and got into a lot of attention-seeking trouble as a kid. When my dad got re-engaged when I was 8 I didn't take it well. I wasn't happy about the situation and I missed my mom and I didn't like this new lady that was in my life. Then the new lady got pregnant I hated it even more, but then my baby sister Hannah was born a month before my 10th birthday and I swear to god my entire view on life did a complete 180. I saw her and I felt bad about my behaviour. I wanted to be better and stop getting into trouble. I wanted to try and fix myself and grow up to be the kind of sister that she would look up to one day. So little 10 year old me decided that I should just completely change everything about me so that I could start clean. One of those things I changed was my name, so I changed it to Hanari after her. I don't remember how I came up with it I just remembered that I wanted it to be like hers, and I wanted us to be a team when we grew up. After that I tried to do better, I even went so far as to ask my dad to sign me up for therapy because I thought it would help. Unfortunately life happened and my dad and the new lady ended up getting separated and I barely get to see her anymore, but over the course of time Hanari was the name that I grew into. I guess looking back I did technically grow into the person I wanted to be for my sister, but I still have a lot of life stuff to learn.

I cosplayed both days this year for once. On Saturday I was Punished Snake, which was rather challenging between the shrapnel's glue not staying due to the heat and trying to avoid people bumping into me while wearing the eyepatch, and on Sunday I was RE1 Chris Redfield. Wish I coulda made the meet-up on Saturday because y'all seem like a rad group of people.

Ah ok, just saw the other thread. Your cosplay was pretty well done man. I will admit though the other Frank was pretty good as well, neat also that he made a hammer-axe to top it off. And word man, I got distracted a lot during my time there, plus I was kinda surprised at the amount of people that were taking pics of us, almost felt very overwhelming. Lemme tell ya though, being inside that thing was tiring and hot as hell, especially since I tried to keep up with my friend since he's much faster than me. Still had a blast though. And This was my second cosplay for the con, me as Mr. Foster and my bro as DJ Skully from Killing Floor. Also was a lot of fun to do.

The ME!ME!ME! meet up was pretty sweet. Got a lot of pics of that. Got to talk to one of the girls for a while after the event. I was pretty surprised to see ME!ME!ME! as well.

I was in it (Happy Mask Salesman) but I don't remember all of the winners (there were a lot)
Prejudging was horribly organized, they told us to show up at 11:30 and they didn't get to us until like 1 o'clock. Then we had to stand in the service tunnel forever and there were only so many chairs. Standing with that backpack on for too long pretty much sucks and it's hard (not impossible, but hard) to put on without help or something to set it in. Actually going across stage and everything was fine, but a lot of people didn't use their whole time and only stayed on stage for like 15 seconds of their minute. Also they let in several cosplays not of Japanese origin, despite that being in the rules.
Overall it was pretty good, a lot of great cosplayers, and I think all of the winners deserved it.

Some purple ball gown with stick on rhinestones won best individual

Best technical went to a couple cosplaying Miku and Kaito, I think. They did a good job

A Chibi Gundam outfit made entirely from fabric and padding that lit up and stuff (it was awesome) won Best in Show

A Mikasa cosplayer won something

Happy Mask Salesman won a judges award

There was a pokemon gijinka group that got an honorable mention.

A RWBY group won something (maybe Best Prop? I don't remember, but they did compliment their prop work)

Florida's weather is not kind on cosplays, I almost had to hang around the "Cospital" booth to get re-glued a few times and with the eyepatch I just fed up getting ran into halfway through the day so I just wore it around my neck and slipped it on for pictures. Also, I forgot to mention I like to share that in-order to make convincing scars for Punished/Venom Snake, use a vial of stuff called "Rigid Collodin". You can get it on Amazon, its cheap, and all it does is pinch the skin lightly to simulate real scars and you only really need transparent powder to remove shininess. To remove it, you can usually just peel it off or use some makeup remover/nail polish remove to help get it off.

Friday and Sunday had much more solid cosplays and such, plus there was alot less people for both days so there was enough room to move around so to speak. Saturday felt somewhat lackluster unless I just happen to miss all the good ones, besides the attendees at the costume contest. Personal favorite though on Saturday was both this Alucard and Seras that I took a picture with. Their outifts were completely on point and were fantastic, and as far as I can remember, were the only Hellsing cosplayers I saw throughout the entire weekend.

No, for such a good artist the guy doesn't really put a lot of effort in putting his name out there. His last deviantart updated is a year old; and they have a crapload of watermarks on them anyway that would look ugly on a wallpaper.

his facebook page was deleted. He mostly just posts pictures of him and his cycling hobby. I really want that Mako pic but there's no way to get it unless someone is nice enough to scan it.
