So first time in one of these threads but con season is coming up around here and I was really hoping to do some lolita so does anyone have any good recommendations for plus size lolita? I can never find anything that looks even slightly legit.

>> No.8233449

>>8233436
For essential pieces like blouses, I really suggest bunny house. I bought a blouse and a bolero from them and I love it. It's really hard to find any brand tops that will look good on you (accommodating bust and arm length/size)

Other than that theres a bunch of brand dresses that are fully shirred or have partial shirring. I usually look at lace market for sizing since brand websites wont ever list how big a dress really goes, or can comfortably fit a 'plus size lolita'.

>> No.8233459

>>8231608
Very cute! Silicon spray and keeping wigs braided in storage helps keep the tangle factor down. It also has to do with the fiber quality itself. Certain stores are known for better long quality than others. EpicCosplay, Cyperous, and Lucialle are said to have decent long wigs, Arda's long straight wigs tangle a lot according to what I've read.

Seconding bunnyhouse, but the white eyelet lace on their white blouses(at least the classic ones) are a little overwhelming. They also use round buttons that tend to come loose pretty easily, so plan on perhaps replacing them.
Fan Plus Friend are pretty good but sometime the custom sizing comes out a little weird. I ordered a long sleeved blouse once from them and the sleeve openings were almost twice as wide as my wrists and I had to take them in pretty far.

>> No.8233902

I did a custom order from fan + friend and also has horrific results. The neck hole was so huge, the waist was really tight and the bust was EXTREMELY LOOSE.

Get a custom size blouse from The Floral Notebook (while they're still open) or Glitter Tale! Check out the Korean indie brands (Baroque, LIEF, Haenuli) for standard options that go up to bigger sizes. Haenuli has long bodices though, it depends on your torso size if it fits right. Bodyline does have nicer stuff but I would recommend starting with a solid color or floral print jsk/skirt!

You can also check out Souffle Song for prints if you're on a budget since they're average tier for Taobao brands, make sure to check reviews for items beforehand. Rococo Soul and Chess Story on taobao often releases items that go on the lower end of plus size!

Out of curiosity, at what point would you consider someone plus sized? Weight? Measurements? Sizing?
Someone with similar measurements to me was called out for being plus sized before, but when I posted my measurements I was told I shouldn't be in the plus sized thread. Are there different judgement depending on the place (ex- cgl plus size vs. normal plus-size)?

>> No.8239219

>>8239148
I think not being able to fit into most clothes and instead need to go out in search for bigger (and therefore harder to find) clothes?

But also how people perceive you and whether you face judgement for how you look? (relating only to fatness though obviously)

Those are some of my personal definitions...

I think if a plus size thread is benefitting you and you're supportive of us folks with fatter bodies then there's no reason you should leave!

>> No.8239238

>>8239148
I can judge.
I just need your full body picture, measurements, height, and weight.
Generally if you don't shop in the plus size section and don't have too much trouble shopping in the average selections, you're likely normal sized even if you are on the bigger end of the spectrum.

With you.

I'm trying to be cute as the 5'4'' girls running around but at 6'0'' I am having trouble finding anything really.
Even my go to jeans must have changed something this year in their patterning. I bought a new pair and they are sliding down my hips like they can't get to the floor fast enough.

I have to stick to sleevless items (arms are never long enough on clothing)
Only wear shorts if Long is not an option (because I'll look like I tried to wear capris with regular pants)
Wear billowy tops (regular tailored stuff will show my belly or back in a matter of minutes from my torso being long)
Can only buy leggings or stockings in Queen size because that's the only way they will stretch up my legs

So effing frustrating trying to find good looks. And I really want to. I'm getting older and the window of wearing cute things is closing within 5 years.

Target has some cute polkadot cardigans, also if you're a little crafty you can get plain cardigans and do little things like add lace, ribbon, appliques, brooches, or change out the buttons! Also thrift shops are a great place to look! (pic related, a cute cardi and some pins of mine, all thrifted)

As far as tights I just scan ebay (got some cute and cheap ones with bows recently!), and then sometimes target and jcp stock bigger sizes in cute simple tights. Nowhere really carries fun prints (occasionally Torrid or Modcloth for $$$), I've been looking into diy for that.

While it would be nice to lose a little I don't think I have. I haven't been trying and I look the same. Heck I may have gained 5 or 10 in the past 3 years and didn't notice.

They must have changed the rise of the jeans or something. Maybe they don't come up the few cm higher like they used to so they slide off hips cause they didn't make it to the waist.

What didn't occur to me was just to tailor them. I took in the waist of some jeans last year. I should do that to these and see what it gets me.

Does anybody know where to get cheapish j-toned down/cute fashion clothing that are still decent quality? Toned down as in bows, lace, flowy clothing?

I was gifted $50 for clothes shopping for my birthday and would like to get a few things.
I've looked at yesstyle, but it's so fucking expensive. I found another store that offered cheap clothing, but got a lot of complaints despite "customers" sending in pictures of them wearing the clothing.

I wish f21 still provided cute clothing

Maybe. SS have different fees, you'd have to calc it yourself.
In my country's case, Fedex and EMS always end up in customs so I'm usually using SS and their SAL. Light packages (no shoes and stuff) are usually cheaper that way.

Modcloth and F21 have nice plus sized options. And dressing how you want helps you feel cuter and be happier imo! Also take lots of selfies and try to look at and admire your good features. That's what worked for me at least!

No? Maybe similar items but not the exact same. Modcloth's items run a gammut of prices, but the quality is better than f21/typical mall fare. I've also seen some things from f21 that reappeared a year later on modcloth. I mean, modcloth sources from a lot of places yes, but I especially remember a mint green dress that I owned and could actually compare to their photo. Their brand selection has grown since then and while I've found some items cheaper at places like Ruche (ruche has sales all the time though) the item itself is nicer than the rebranded f21. The trashy and overpriced thing is less true nowadays, probably, but it's good to be smart about it.
