Honestly, why does anyone like lolita?
For me, I like lolita because of the beauty, fantasy, and fun of it all.
I really strongly identify with princess-y, somber, and striking imagery and lolita pretty much delivers all of that.
I also appreciate the modesty of the fashion and the romanticism of wearing old fashioned garments like petticoats.
And of course, who doesn't enjoy getting dressed up and looking amazing? I love having fun with fashion, and lolita blows common sense completely out of the water in the best kind of way.
What isn't there to love about lolita?
While it is feminine, I'm a feminine person and I'm not afraid to express myself how I want to. If someone is genuinely interested in fashion, and can pull it off well enough, what's the issue?

I liked the fashion for a long time, and a couple lolitas encouraged me to try it out myself. So I tried it out and it was an interesting experience. I do some modelling so putting it on and getting a feel for the personality was a fun and new experience. I might've looked like a drag queen, but I was a goddamn fabulous one. It was a fun, but now I do ouji.

I think the issue with men wearing lolita is when they make it a fetish. Wearing a dress to a meet with a raging hardon hanging out with people who are not consenting to being a part of your fantasy isn't cool. There's a guy who posts on tumblr about wearing a chastity belt under his dresses, and he has underage girls in his comm and makes a lot of comments about his sexual deviancy not caring that they're around. It makes everyone uncomfortable and no one wants to be have to be around some guy who is dripping precum under his skirt.

I don't care if you have a sissy, feminization, or ageplay fetish. Just don't bring it to a lolita meet. The meet is about lolita. There are fetish communities for what you're looking for. I'd prefer you didn't wear lolita to those because it gives it a bad name, but I can't stop you.
