My primary goal was to dress up as Cormano. However, the guy I commissioned to make the poncho for the costume flaked out. I fucking gave him 6 MONTHS to get this shit knitted and he couldn't do it, despite him being mostly unemployed during that time. Fuck.

i made the mask in the picture but my new mask had 5 mini fans in it and the eyes lit up but the crowning glory for me was that the eyes would blink with real lens so you would see the eyes shut then open, i try to keep making this costume better when i ware it but i think that the last time i used it was 2013.

I've been coming to Sakura-Con from Spokane and not cosplaying at all since 2006, and I'm seriously considering making this year my last year. About the only fun thing aside from buying random cool shit is Zapp's shindig. Nobody wants to do funny cosplay skits anymore (all that runway model bullshit these days), late night cosplay chess was a complete joke last year, and nobody else seems to want to put on an awesome panel.

...I actually get the impression the con is run by a combination of conservative Christians and SJWs (strange bedfellows much?), which may explain a lot of why it's not that fun. Granted, the local anime con on the east side of the state is a hugbox run by a team of SJWs and fear mongers who are horribly afraid of what their public image is (read: we can't have too much boob showing!), but come on, I expected something more fun out of Seattle.

Can anyone give me a good reason why I should keep attending this clusterfuck? Or should this be my last year there, and I should just go to PAX and ECC instead?

Oh yeah. Traffic. Just remind yourself that people in Southern California and Honolulu have it much worse, and count your blessings on that.
