Secondhand sales dilemma:

When selling Bodyline items, do I list my prices at below the dollars price, and bank on getting idiotic buyers who don't know about the yen trick or bother to compare prices (or just want to get the items fast), or do I base my prices on the yen trick price?

Doesn't help that they're barely worn items that cost me a lot more at the time than they would cost buyers new now, since I live in the EU and bought them before Bodyline started marking down.

There are a few girls in my comm who dress in other Jfashions and are really cute in them (there's a girl who I've seen post really nice mori things on tumblr, and one who's into fairy kei, among others). I'd like to have the opportunity to go out in styles other than lolita too. But I know that once you get rid of the lolita-only rule, you get all sorts of noobs in shitty outfits turning up (even moreso than normal). What's the best way to put together a Jfashion meet without having people turning up having thrown on all sorts of junk and calling it FRUiTS? Would it be best to have a specific list of permitted styles? I can't go vetting people's outfits before they turn up but I don't want to be embarrassed by the stuff other people are wearing. Should I just make it a private meet, between me and the girls I know wear jfashion? That could make me look weird, because I barely know the mori girl and fairy kei girl and only know they wear it because I've seen pics on tumblr, plus it would exclude other well-dressed members who I just don't know wear jfash.

That sounds pretty tyranical. I mean ultimately the worlds going to think you all look ridiculous regardless of whether they're ita/newb looking whatever.

Make the meet, see who shows up, if it's a disaster, then don't have another meet. If you're embarassed about being seen in public with potentially ugly people (which is silly btw), then have it at a more private venue like an apartment complex community center or someone's house.

At a jfash meet? Pretty much all of the well-defined styles, but not general jfashiony girly aomoji kei stuff. But some styles like decora are easy to get wrong, so I'd worry about poor-quality outfits.

At a lolita and jfashion meet, styles that don't clash horribly with lolita are fine. So things like aristocrat, otome and fairy kei, maybe mori and cult party kei too. Not things like decora, jpunk and a lot of styles of gyaru.

Did the package get lost (which wouldn't be IW's fault) or haven't they send it out yet? Did you try to contact them via ma?

I bought from them two times this month and asked for my orders to be combined. They took longer two invoice me/ ship it out as usual, but it has already arrived at my country. So I'd say their normal business is back on track (just a bit slower), but it seems like they have still problems going through all the orders made during the sale. I honestly don't know why most brands don't have a normal cart system where you can pay with paypal while ordering...why all this invoice crap? At least IW sometimes tries to find your stuff in one of their shops if they don't have any of it left in their warehouse.

Graphic design student here who got an animation assignment randomly as part of a design class. I'm going to try to do something based on a hover loli blasting off but I need to pick a "colorway" so to speak. Leaning towards pink but I wouldn't mind more input.

USPS is generally pretty trustworthy. Unfortunately all post that isn't overnight express or any other expensive equivalent takes a bit of time to make it. I've only mailed small packages with regular mail and it took ~3 weeks to arrive. There was once that I miswrote the address and it ended up showing back up to my house around two or three months after I mailed it. So be careful. Also advise the buyer that it might take a while unless they're willing to fork over the dosh.

Are AatP's colours generally the same shades from print to print? I have their horoscope/constellation print in navy and wondering whether pic related would match it despite being from a different print series?
Or do you reckon I would just be better off making one from the waist ties/a matching fabric?

Don't think so, but I don't think it'd be hard to make. Even if you don't sew at all yourself, I'm pretty sure anywhere that does custom blouses, like The Floral Notebook, would be able to figure it out (I know she's modified the sleeves on her existing designs according to people's requests for no/$5/$10 extra charge before, so when she's less busy you could ask her). There are a ton of other indie brands that do custom items that you could ask, like Bunny House and Lady Sloth, but since I have no experience with them I couldn't recommend them wholeheartedly.

I sold a dress to a buyer on lacemarket who has about a 15 feedback score with no negatives, but upon looking at the feedback authors I realize that she has not left any feedback for any of them. She paid quickly, but has said literally 5 words to me over the course of the sale and shipment. I haven't bought or sold much on there yet, so I really want the feedback to increase my score, especially for a $250 dress.

It's amazing stuff but some of these girls are too heavy handed. I think most Lolitas use cheap brow pencils or brow powder then setting gel which darkens the powder to make goo. Dipdip colors, shapes and sets, all-in-one but you have to practice. It's also waterproof, I'm surprised more cosplayers have not discovered it yet either.

I inspected it for any stains or fabric pilling or any weird smell but it seemed like in perfect condition, so my sales post stated that it was in good condition. The person who bought it then tried to accuse me as scammer because apparently the boning was poking out of the fabric. But I swear, that wasn't visible from the outside.

And from that day on I also inspect the lining. And I state in my sales posts that I try to find any flaw, adding pictures of every detail of the dress, so it is clear that I am honest and that I don't want to hide anything.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I'm pretty sure their measurements are flat measurements, and not necessarily the measurements of a person who'd fit into the dress. It's generally a good idea to be smaller than the listed measurements for a good fit.

For the bust area, I'd say you should be just about alright if you wear a padded bra.

Well, you sound like you know what cotton twill should look like. I have Chess Chocolate, and even after a handful of wears and washes it still doesn't have anything resembling what you describe. It's definitely cotton weave so it's not going to be as smooth as satin, but it's also not supposed to be fuzzy either.

The only time I encountered fuzz was on a Meta dress, but the seller said upfront it had been worn often.

It's possible what your seller meant was "I bought this from someone else and only tried it on", so maybe the previous person she'd bought it from is the one that had worn the dress a lot? I really can't think of any reason for fuzz on Chess Chocolate except a lot of wear and a heavy hand laundering it.

I have lolita dresses that are a little wrinkled. I am too nervous to iron them and prefer to use a steamer instead. None of these dress are print dresses. None of them are made of light fabrics such as chiffon either. Does anyone have any recommendations for personal clothes steamers under $100 I can use?

For reference, one of my dresses is Dreaming Sherbert. Another is Metamorphose's pintuck tiered pinafore dress

I don't dislike it, but I do think you should change the colors. What I have noticed is that it is HARD as fuck to sell to lolitas. They are hyper-critical of everything that isn't brand. If something is affordable, they'll complain that it isn't high quality enough and nitpick it to death (even if it actually is good quality for the price), and if you up the quality and have to subsequently up the price, they'll bitch that it's too expensive and they might as well buy brand. You can't win. To the majority of lolitas, brand = quality and that's it (even if a lot of brand accessories are actually overpriced crap). Go for the generic kawaii/pastel goth/fairy kei market. They may also be somewhat flaky but they are more likely to put their money where their mouth is.

It may be the over sized rings that make it look gaudy, but right now it reminds me of pic related. I may just be biased against gold chain in general. It would probably be alright if you used smaller rings. Regardless, you need to work on the charms before bothering about what to string them on.

Check your measurements against listed measurements on the pieces you're interested in. If you're within the range of shirred pieces or 3-4 cm below the listed measurement for unshirred, they should be fitted, but not tight.

As a guy though, I'm pretty sure your biggest obstacle will be length though unless you're a manlet or something.

I was going to say something about the color as well, but I didn't know how to describe it. To me this gold is more green(?) than yellow; when I think of yellow gold I think of a more brilliant gold then this. I don't know much about it though, which is why I didn't say anything.

But yeah, consider using a different color gold. Something more delicate and bright.

I ordered a dress from Usagiyouhinten and I just checked the tracking. It seems my parcel was sent back to them.
I don't understand why? Never got a notice that they attempted to deliver my parcel and no delivery person ever showed up in the first place since I always use my sisters address as she's always at home cause she's unemployed. She didn't get a slip either btw, had her check it.
Am I fucked now? Will I be blacklisted. Would they send it again? I'll gladly pay for shipping again so that is not an issue.
