I've gotten knock off ones before and if you don't get the egg shaped one's they're actually much better for grip and in my opinion blending.

The cheap price of them is also a plus in case they get stained.

The Beauty Blender is made from a propriety material. The knock offs don't last as long, blend worse and don't give a good finish.

I bought an egg-shaped one in a drugstore and use it every day. I'd say it's nice, but I mainly use it for liquid foundation before I use powder make-up and because it's so soft and squishy.
