What are some cosplay trends you're sick of seeing? Personally im fed up with bunnysuits. They're a shit idea and very rarely are they done nicely.

Looking at OP reminded me of a cosplay trend I don't like. Overly dark, overly drawn on brows for characters who don't appear like that in the reference material.

I hate seeing it out of cosplay too but seriously if you wig is brown your character should not have brows as thick as caterpillars and dark as the night unless the character is specifically drawn that way. It looks ridiculous and it's seriously unflattering.

Kinda the opposite happened to me. Casually wearing normal clothes picking up my badge, but wore a red oversized bow for fun. Had two people come up to me and compliment my Kiki cosplay... they thought I was actually cosplaying from Kiki's Delivery Service when I was just wearing a black shirt, leggings, and had my regular blonde hair down. Is this how lazy people are with "cosplays" now...?

Bunny suits annoy me too. I think people who make bunny suits for already sexy characters do it mainly because they want the attention but are too lazy to make the original thing.

Like JNig's bunny suit Samus for example. What's wrong with doing regular Samus? IMO Samus' Zero Suit by itself is way sexier than some shitty leotard with crappy ears. People might disagree but I think JNig could pull off Samus pretty well if she ditched the bunny suit, but sadly she won't listen to a single bit of feedback this board has to offer.

I don't know why she does those awful eyebrows with so many of her cosplays, she did Mako last year and she looked a lot cuter without the OTT lashes and brows.

Although I prefer MF's makeup from this year, bright pink lipstick for Ryuko is ridiculous.

Not everyone has been cosplaying since the beginning of time, you know. There are some people who are in their 20's and 30's who are just now getting into cosplay now. Just because you're unfamiliar with an old trend in a hobby you're just now starting doesn't automatically mean you're underage?

Not OP btw. I'm 22 myself and wasn't aware that bunny suits have been around that long, the reason for that is because I'm fairly new to cosplaying. I've only been doing it for the past 3 years.

Bunny outfits have been a thing since Playboy introduced them in the sixties. They're a common Hallowe'en costume. They became more notable in cosplay around 2007 because of Haruhu Suzumiya, which is a very well known anime.

You were talking about the trend of people cosplaying Bunny Suit versions of characters, ones that don't wear them . You were only talking about cosplay specifically. All I'm saying is that people who haven't been in the hobby very long might not be familiar with HOW LONG people have been doing bunny suit versions in COSPLAY.

Bunny suits, and out of character bunny suits specially, have been a thing for god knows how long, even before Haruhi.
Daicon made them big back in the days.

And no, being "on your 20s and new to cosplay" isn't an excuse, as I'm like that as well but I've been around the fandom enough to know this, you could too.

Now, if this is "a new thing" again, and completely unrelated to ancient references, I can see how it's annoying, for different reasons though.

Pretty much this. The handful of cosplays you see from dota are Crystal Maidens, Windrunners, Linas, etc. A lot of the male characters are too technical for the average cosplayer, but I don't understand why there aren't more Juggernauts or Omniknights or anything.

I really hope more women choose to do away with the whole "sexy" princess armor bullshit.

It wouldn't be that bad if they were adapting the armor to suit the character's time period, what kind of armor they would realistically have, or what weapons/class they would specialize with. No, instead it's just the typical brassiere/loin-garter/thigh high boots/random pauldrons bullshit. Meanwhile all their vulnerable points (re: upper thighs, lower arms, jugular, abdomens) are left fucking exposed.
Not only does this make the characters (no, women in general) look like they'd be a major incompetent liability in any real battle situation, but it also proves that they care more about what the fucking opposite gender thinks of their asses instead of wearing shit that would actually save themselves. Christ. It's so fucking insulting and embarrassing.

tbh I like the designs and the construction is nice enough for a colourful fantasy armor but... the idea alone ruins it for me. As far as I heard, yonejiro and Taki got into a fight once and he slapped her. and afterwards he felt bad about it so he let her slap him back. and that was it. I dont really consider that "abusive" tbh.

but in regards to taki's "fitness" she's so thin she looks sickly (and half the time she looks like a fucking bobblehead because she's so disproportionate) and yet she's always talking about how she wants to lose EVEN MORE weight. Thats classic anorexia (or just her attention seeking, which is honestly more likely)
