I would definitely suggest it, it's grown to be my favorite convention in the GTA area. It focuses more on interactive activities, with lots of different crafts, carnival games, competitions, and other fun stuff all included in the price. There's a lot of fantastic programming, and there's never nothing to do.

Not totally sure about this but my mom does a lot of shipping around the world so I just quickly asked her. She didn't have a definitely answer for Ohio, but in general shipping to the States is all the same but she said that sending anything with tracking to the States is super expensive and not worth it so she has never done so. different Anon but i know last year they didn't seem to have enough judges, one of the 'artisan/master' judges was taken to help judge on journeymen entry because they had leather working and then go stuck judging novice/journeymen entries for like 2 hours leaving only one judge to do the workmanship for the artisan/master level entries. Seriously? That might explain a few things. I'm a guy cosplayer and I entered into Journeyman in 2013 with a cosplay I made. I remember the judge looked like was hardly paying attention to me when I was explaining the details of my cosplay. What annoyed me more was that no awards were even given out for Journeyman. I remember some people weren't happy with how that went down.

While I know Frostcon is hated amongst many here, at least they got decent judges who were rather fair and I saw a lot of guys get awards too.

I want to bring my boyfriend to AN but he has virtually no interest in weeby crap.

Getting a hotel for AN is really hard especially right now. I always stay with a friend that always has a room booked because... reasons. I shoot with Novii often, you guys need to stop being autistic about him. He doesn't have a "choke hold" on cosplayers. People just like him because he's a decent photographer.
He'll take a few great snaps for free - people like that.
He edits fast - people like that.

Fair enough, though there are a fair chunk of decent photographers too in this community who shoot well but simply don't get as much recognition cause Novii takes much of the cos-famous people. Ailes Noir I think deserves much more hits than he does for example.
