Hello my friend and I are going to Sakuracon we were planning on doing Joseph and Jotaro. I'm going to be Joseph and he was going to be Jotaro but it looks like it's going to be harder for him and he's tight on money. Any suggestions for another simpler Jojo Cosplay or a cheaper way to do Jotaro? Also JJBA cosplay general

jotaro is really one of the most simple designs, except -maybe- school uniforms for part 4.

Both Jonathan and Dio in the very beginning of Phantom Blood are pretty simple, but I know PB is pretty hit or miss with fans.

Well, both Joseph and Oldseph are both pretty simple (hardest part would probably be youngseph's scarf), and the only other characters I can really say might be "easy" might be Johnny, as he appears in one of the flashbacks, or Polnareff, with the setback of having his flattop.

I need your opinion on something, seagulls. I'm cosplaying Melone in a few months and I don't like any of the color schemes you can find, so I bought light green fabric and gonna make the circles golden or light orange, after all it's a melon. What should I do about the wig? Should I go with the "official" blonde or get one on another color? What color would be better? Pic kinda related.

I should be getting my wig and major parts for my Jolyne in the mail by the end of the month, and I'm ridiculously excited about cosplaying my queen. Any tips for getting her makeup on point?

As for my Johnny, though, I'm still having a difficult time figuring out how to pull off a convincing shoepants illusion with my absolute beginner sewing skills..... does anybody have advice on that, too? I've scoured google numerous times with no luck.I'm painting stars on leggings for his pants, for reference....

I did a makeup test recently for Jolyne (as Irene) and I went pretty heavy with the eyemakeup. I'd probably go for some really good looking lashes and bottom lashes. And the lip color is probably important to. I don't know what color varient you're doing for her, but a bright lip color is good to have.

I'd like to make Kakyoin's uniform and I've found someone selling some nice green woolen fabric, but they only have 4 meters, so I'm afraid I won't have enough for both the coat and the pants. Will it look hideous if I make the pants out of another fabric in the same color ?

One of my friends is cosplaying as Gyro as well. We haven't done it yet but we have 2 ideas for the grill.

The first is to make a base from plastimake that's molded to your teeth. Think of those mouth guards used for sport but more molded at the front to look more like teeth. They'd also be thinner. You could then heat it up a bit again while being very careful that it doesn't lose it's shape and care in the letters to each "tooth" I'm not sure how well this would paint though and I don't know how fun that would be to have in your mouth all day.

The second option (that my friend came up with) was to make the base the same way and then glue white fake nails shaped as teeth into it. You could use a dremel or something beforehand (MAYBE) to do the lettering. Or paint it on. I think that there'd probably be a lot of painting involved either way and you would really want to test this out before the convention. I've made fangs this way before (thermoplastic base with fake nails) but I've never carved or painted them.

You MIGHT also be able to get a cheap crappy pair of grills from a costume shop and then modify those, but I have no idea how that'd turn out.
I'm planning on doing a few tests with my friend to see what works best well before we're going to wear the cosplays so that it'll actually work and hopefully look good.
Good luck though!

I'm working on Johnny at the moment, and I was planning on following the shoepant semi-tutorial Hanyaan posted a while back.

I don't have the post bookmarked, but iirc it was something like make your leggings go down to the middle of your feet, and then have your shoes covered in the same fabric with a very small slit that you leave unhemmed cut for your feet to go in and the edge shoe blend pretty well. It only works if your using something with a four way stretch, I'm pretty sure.

>implying I won't line something that has a clearly visible lining everytime the character shows up onscreen

How the fuck did that idea even cross your mind. Chill, it's just that I somehow managed to only get results talking about wool when I looked up what the fabric used for gakurans was (checked again and got some about cotton twill and polycotton, though). And I wasn't planning on using something like boiled wool, what I had my eye on was a wool/polyester blend twill.

Does anyone know where I could find a tall top hat for cheap? Doesn't have to be amazing quality of course, since it's for cosplay and I don't intend to wear it outside of that.
I have no clue on how to make one from scratch and the cheapest I could find was 40£ for a felt one.
