I went to see the Sound Bee HD a few years ago. I was front row against the bar. The concert was almost done when this big dude in a Charmander kigu pushed his way to the front, he threw a blow up boombox to Daisuke. Then he reached his hand out, and Daisuke grabbed it. Next thing I know the dude is trying to pull Daisuke off the stage. I think the guy got kicked out after that, cause I didnt see him again. Not really a fun concert story, but a story none the less.

Not a really fun story. But a few years ago I got to see Girugamesh at Anime Boston. I was way in the back stuck behind a poll. I brought one of my friends and he passed out. I told him to go back to the hotel which he did. He woke up the next day to find out someone had stolen his wallet at the concert.

I went and saw Jupiter at Rex two summers ago. Despite being a fan of Hizaki for nearly 10 years (fuck I'm getting old) and having lived in Japan for a while, that was the first time I'd ever seen him live. I was at the bar and I started fucking sobbing. He looked at me and quickly mouthed the equivalent of "you okay?" A while after their set they came out to their merch booth. I got to say hello afterwards and Hizaki and Zin were really sweet. Zin tried speaking a little English too. I've played guitar for 15+ years and I've never had another inspiration as big or compelling as Hizaki has been. It was cool to tell him that in person.

Just about ten years ago now, (holy shit, where did time go?!) I went to see Dir en grey at the Fillmore in San Francisco. I dolled myself up in my gothly best. I was so excited. It was standing room only. I quickly realized that being there early and getting a great spot front and center stage was a huge mistake. I regretted my decision, but there was no way out. I couldn't even squeeze past screaming girls to get myself out of there.

So here I am trying to enjoy Dir en grey during what I am guessing are my final moments of life while being crushed to death, and what the fuck happens? Kyo does that blood spittle spray, a little hits me, and I'm IMMEDIATELY jumped by a hamplanet who starts licking it off me.

It was a mess. I know we're all excited to see our favorite bands and stuff, but jesus christ VK fangirls... calm your tits!

One of the Miyavi concerts that I went to a few years ago was really bad where that was concerned. Miyavi himself had to stop the concert for a few minutes to tell everyone to stop pushing.
A girl standing next to me was pushed so hard that she smacked into the railing, wind knocked out of her and she started to hyperventilate.
I had my brother grab her and we shoved our way out of the crowd...thank god there were paramedics present.

I wish people would realize that shoving, pushing and generally having complete disregard for the people around them is no way to get closer to the band or get noticed by them (in a good way).

This isn't really a funny story. but more of a concert annoyance. When I saw Versailles in Texas in 2008, my friend and I were in the front row. There were some guys behind us who pushed their way up from the back of the room, didn't know who the band was, and talked about whether they thought HIzaki was male or female and whether they'd fuck him either way. It was pretty rude, considering that they came in after the doors opened and pushed through people who had waited in line for hours.

Saw D in 2012. After the live there was a small meet&greet event. Most of the people in line were girls, and I was one of the few guys there, and since secury wasn't tight at all most girls were giving hugs to them. When my turn arrived I got closer to Asagi to give him a handshake but he was already doing the motions in a mechanical way, and gave me a hug. He then noticed what he did and had a pretty funny panic face. I didn't know how to react so I just froze there too. hide-zou noticed and started laughing, I reacted then and started to laught in an awkward way, and Asagi finally smiled too. I gave him a handshake and the line moved.
When I reached hide-zou he gave me a big hug and started to laught again.
They are really really nice to their fans.

Good ol' jrock days. I have a few sleazy stories from D'espairsray, Born and Rentrer. But my favorite is when Dir en grey had a concert while Born was in town and all the members of born went(while being totally fucking stoked about it). It was a really small concert and Born's singer kept trying to mosh Japanese style and pissed everyone off. Eventually a big dude just picked him up and crowd surfed him out... which he promptly just came back into the mix and got surfed out again.

As to Kuina…Most of the objections girls have to him are about how he treats girls. I know some people leave about a third of the eyebrow in front as a starting point so that they can do whatever they want with the arch. Having that front bit helps keep things looking more normal when you do a natural shape and colored arch.

Also since TR works with Kiwamu a lot I think that's the only label we will be seeing from them. I know they have worked with PSC in the past, but I don't see that happening again soon. Not many really good tour agencies in the US.

At AUSA, the two years I went, they had 12012 and Matenrou Opera, which I consider much more popular bands than Soundbee HD or Lolita Dark from last year. I somewhat agree with you, and honestly I'd attend those smaller cons for the cheaper price of seeing them if they had more bands play. Diru is really the only popular band that semi-regularly visits the US. Everyone else always hits up Europe instead, which is disappointing.

I've only heard maybe 10 songs by Misaruka, but I just can't get past that "this is a Versailles and Malice mashup/rip off" feeling enough to try and judge them of their own merit

I like to travel for good bands. I went to AUSA just for Schwarz Stein and would do it again in a heart beat. Didnt AUSA already announce there band, and it wasnt anything to good?
I think the smaller cons give the smaller bands a better chance. Unless a VK band is just an opening act for a larger more well known band, I dont know how they would draw a crowd on their own.


As for Misaruka, they are good. But they do need to venture away from what they are doing in my opinion. Like you cant do music like that and not be compare to Malice Mizer and Versailles. Plus the fact they did two Mizer covers and released both on single's. They weren't to good.
