It was my idea. Most of the actors were people I knew from cosplay groups. The wizard (who also composed the music) is a friend of mine and easily the best part of the movie IMO (even if you hate it, which I understand if you do, you gotta admit the soundtrack ain't bad). However, the main character's justification for finding out her "true self" was reading a bunch of tumblr posts and googling "I'm a book character".

The sets were stupid (why was 'the wizard', who looked as cliche as possible, sitting around in the dark in a random suburban home?), the costuming was atrocious, all acting subpar, camera was shoddy at best, storyline was shallow and didn't cover what you intended (exploring the idea of fiction-being-reality and using 'magic' to tap into that)...

Basically, it isn't bad for a bunch of tumblrtards reenacting their fantasies and having fun with cameras. Seriously this is so much like Kai I thought she was the driving force behind it all. But the fact that this project has a separate director, you, whom (I assume) wants to go at least somewhere in film...

Didn't have money for sets (had a budget of just $1000, half of which was spent on the camera). The wizard's house was the actor's; we were intentionally going kind of absurd for both comic strangeness (thus literally using Magic The Gathering cards in his "ritual") and skeeviness (would you really trust a "wizard"/surgeon/body mod artist just working in their living room?).

The costuming at least you can blame on Kai (she was a control freak about that stuff).

Turned out kind of bad overall, but I don't think one bad short made as a student is gonna ruin a film career (especially since I'm confident the project I'm working on now is going to turn out WAY, WAY better).

i think it's pretty obvious she has cancer, if u notice she doesn't have any eyebrows and wears wigs and fake eyelashes in all of her pics/vids. several people said she does as well on her instagram.
she probably also has some sort of hearing impairment, judging by her singing and choice of songs, but i havent seen that confirmed anywhere. yes, she's trying to be totemo kawaii in her outfits but i dont think the obscure singing is a part of that.
