The best cosplay photographs may look really cool, but the reality of how those shots get produced is often not so much. eg crouching to account for height difference. Seagulls, got any of these to share?

I hope these aren't actual representation of the final photo product. A lot of these look blurry or cheesly edited.

Them being short isn't the problem, it's they're just doing this to match the character better. Don't get defensive. I bet a lot of them are also crossplaying females.

Shit like this isn't just related to cosplay, and has been a huge part of movie, tv and photography in general since the dawn of all that shit. There are very few movies made today that don't use creative blocking or forced perspective or have someone standing on an apple box just to make things look better. What you see on screen or in photos is hardly ever what is actually happening.

Yeah, there was this bit on the making of The Fellowship of the Ring where Gandalf is in Frodo's house and they need to use all these weird perspective tricks to exaggerate their size difference. I'd imagine that any movie with Tom Cruise in it uses a ton of height-enhancing tricks, too.

>>8075596
>under 6'6"
Is this the manlet variant of fat chicks claiming that anyone over size 4 get made fun of, when it's really just them?

>>8075641
Metricfag here. I used to think 6' was super tall until I followed online instructions to make a suitable-for-6ft-tall-men apron for my boyfriend and it was hilariously short on him.

Yes. When they filmed Interview with a vampire he spent half the film standing on a box.

Movies with him and taller (read: normal height) actresses are hilariously notorious because sometimes they'll put the actress in a hole in the ground to make her shorter.

These stories stem from a quote someone made which I can't recall.

An unknown short actor will stand on a box so that he is the same height as everyone else. A famous short actor will make everyone stand in a hole.

It's not literal and is more about the attitudes of famous people rather than what happens about their height.

>Heard the same thing about Michael J. Fox back in the day too.

That actually isn't true. They wanted him to stand on a box and appear taller, but he told them he wasn't going to do that. And since most of his movies were comedies, they didn't need to force it. If he were a 5 nothing action hero, then it could have problems, but as the boyish smart-ass, his height was fine.
