She's made a post today her current Lola cosplay went viral and she suddenly gained around 450k almost overnight. However she doesn't seem that surprised/humbled by it. How on earth did this happen? Does anyone know where she got shared that made THIS big of a difference in such a very short time??

There were multiple, and they were a few months back. That's really the only part of them that's relevant to your thread though; it's extremely easy to buy Facebook likes and one should never judge popularity on that number. Also, the days of being able to hold fair popularity contests are also long over. That's a lot of likes though, she probably spent $400-$500 on them.

>>8056843
As someone who's spoken to her since this has occurred. It's actually freaked her out quite a bit.
Imagine your page randomly going up by that much in one night. It's enough to put anyone off.

Did she buy them? No, I don't think so.

The reason being she's been very public about the influx of private messages [mostly containing porn of Lola bunny] since this occurred. hundreds of PM's in one night etc. Plus she isn't the most thick skinned person out there either which makes me suspect it even less.

>> No.8056873

>>8056861
Prizes, in the case of the contests. The grand prize for the Lolitadesu contest was a lucky pack valued at $800, and the Meta contest gave several hundred dollars worth of in-store credit to the top 3 winners. Meta's contest was purely based on Likes though, while Lolitadesu's only used the Likes to create a top ten from which the judges selected the winner.

Sounds like she's trying to deflect suspicion of buying likes, tbh.

>> No.8056884

It's very easy to figure out if someone's bought likes or not.

If you look at her posts, she's not getting the right kind of traffic for someone who has half a million likes.
They're definitely bought. There's no question.

This is something she will surely regret in the long run.

Yeah the metrics never lie.

>> No.8056894

Considering Facebook only lets you reach like 15-20% of your total followers, most people with 200-300k usually have between 7-12k likes on a photo. I thought poor traffic is what Facebook does on purpose to MAKE you promote your page.

>> No.8056896

>>8056884
This.

A lot of sites where you can buy likes warn you of this, because these are not going to be accounts that also interact with your posts. All this does is inflate that one number on your front page. You can buy likes for individual posts separately, but it's extremely time consuming and gets expensive very quickly if you post a lot of content (not to mention, the likes don't post immediately and you usually have to wait several days for them unless the service offers a speedier service at a stupidly-expensive price).

Lots of lolita and cosplay pages on Facebook are skewed in this way. Same with Twitter pages, as well.

She keeps deleting these posts from her page, it's really suspicious

>> No.8056907

>>8056894
That's a reasonable ratio of overall likes to engagement though, from my experience.

Take lapin chocolat's facebook page, for example: she has almost 6,000 likes (the majority of which appeared over the course of a couple of days), but she struggles to receive more than 20 organic likes on any post she makes. She's purchased likes for most of her photo posts as well, which is really obvious because you can actually see who likes those images and most of those people are clearly not connected to the lolita community at all. Another red flag when you suspect that someone has bought likes is an overwhelming majority of likers that are all from the same country (usually Russia, India, or in her case Vietnam).

The amount of likes on your page aren't really what matters when getting likes on individual posts. Lots of people will like a page but choose to not follow it while some people religiously follow certain pages.

Content that you post matters far more greatly. I've compiled some screenshots of posts from my page as an example. It should be easy to tell simply by the stats of each post what exactly it was. Text posts tend to get no real interaction but when I post funny videos or pictures I find the amount of likes skyrocket. A link to my blog did horribly but a photo I posted if myself in lolita did really well.

Just because people aren't liking a post doesn't mean they aren't being seen by her followers. However the likes, shares, interactions, etc do great help.

(Sorry for odd sizing as I did this via my phone)

Call me crazy, but I am pretty sure her Lola cosplay got posted a few times on imgur and reddit. It's possibly it went viral and a bunch of people liked her page. I also think you are underestimating the power of cosplaying something EXTREMELY nostalgia with a character people are creepily obsessed with (bunny boobs, WHY?!)

I think I also saw something where the actually number of likes was less than FB is showing. I think it was her insight pics. I think FB might have made an error or something when it calculated the likes. I actually found it.

I think y'all need to chill. I don't understand why people are so vehement about people who buy likes anyway. Actually your post right there is the proof that she bought those likes. If it were a post that got those likes there would still be lingering affects of it days later since a post that goes viral will stay active for at least three days or so. The fact that all of her likes came in on one day are highly suspect. When people buy likes, the site that they buy from floods their page with likes within the course of about 2-12 hours and then stop. If she's losing that many likes already that means that some of the fake pages that liked her page are already being removed by Facebook at a faster rate than she's gaining new fans which would be little to none since she bought fans.

I bought likes from Fiverr once about 1 year ago because I was curious to see what would happen. I had maybe 1k likes and I picked a service that said "Get 1-2k likes" and I had a gameplan of saying "Wow! Where did all you people come from? Please link me with whatever website sent you my way!" as a cover story. Well, I bought the "1k" likes and next thing you know, my page had _10K_ likes and I was HORRIFIED because there was no way my page could ever blow up like that naturally and I was so embarrassed. Got lots of wall posts in Spanish that when translated were like "what is this page??? I do not like this page" over and over again and the likes all slowly filtered away. By the time a month had passed I was back down to 1k likes again and I saud never again would I buy likes... So I can confirm with authority that that is what this coser has done.
