Same... I don't like her personality, but when she's not pulling the dumb, "Nico Nico Ni~" voice I can tolerate her because of the cute outfits.

I'm cosplaying Kotori's Valentine's outfit, just really nervous because you can't see her shoes in the picture... Since Hayano is the only one in blue where you can see her shoes, I'm assuming Kotori is wearing ankle boots too. I have weirdly small ankles so here's to hoping they don't fall off, ahaha.

Problem with most of the LLSIF outfits is you can't see the shoes. I bought the LLSIF second handbook (the recently released japanese one) and it's got lots of neat references and hi quality images but most have just cropped the feet out entirely which irks me so much

I searched for hours trying to find pictures of Kotori's stupid feet to no avail. So I'm just going off of what the other characters are wearing. Luckily the valentines outfits are pretty uniform, which makes it easier.

I feel bad about it, but I'm happy most of the caucasian LL cosplayers are rather... large. Going through google, and I'm smaller than all the caucasian Kotori's I've seen. Makes me rather confident since I just got prescribed medication for rather severe hypothyroidism (docs were surprised I managed to stay at a healthy bmi lol) and I'm in the middle of getting my weight in check and waiting for the meds to kick in for my metabolism to give me energy to work out and to naturally shed some of the pounds my body was holding onto for no reason.

Yep, that's what I'm doing for my cosplay!

Perhaps the designers do it on purpose just to mess with us. They need sacrifices to keep the girls looking young and youthful.

(p.s. picturing that outfit with frilly white ankle socks and either green (like her necktie) or yellow shoes with slight heel. My imagination says cute, but my brain is melting with the need for official shoes.)

That's not what I meant at all...I was wondering if that is the excuse for such a poorly fitted outfit and terrible skirt. Her top isn't flattering at all (it makes her look wider than she is) and the skirt are flaps of fabric laid on top each other with zero pleating. The black part should be a skirt but it looks like trim sewn on top of a pair of shorts. The gloves...aren't even gloves now that I look closer. Actually, maybe she did make this I can't imagine any seller getting away with that skirt thing and fake gloves. Girl got lucky finding a nice trim for all the ruffle bits.

Eh, if you've been keeping yourself a healthy weight without the meds, you'll have no problem once you're on them.

I know this is anecdotal, but I've been struggling to bulk up to a size 8 and I've been diagnosed with hypothyroidism since I was 10. I have it quite severely, too - my meds max out at twice the amount my elderly grandparents take. I know lots of other skinny people with it as well.

Also congratulations on getting your diagnosis :) You're going to be amazed at how much extra energy you have, especially as you're just getting used to it. Whenever they up my dose I feel like I'm bouncing of the ceiling for a couple of days. Good luck getting in shape, and don't forget to have fun doing it :)

To be honest, keeping myself at the heavier end of normal was me eating 500-600 calories a day at most. Which is incredibly unhealthy as well, but it was the only thing keeping me from becoming obese. (I hit 200lbs at one point eating ~1100 cals a day, which is when my major freakout happened and I had to figure out which number of calories kept me at a healthy weight.) I'm just happy I'll be able to eat normally. Before my symptoms started eating normally kept me at around 120 lbs without dieting and being pretty much a couch potato.

But thank you so much! I'm also getting tests done to see if it actually got to the point where it'll leave me sterile (I already developed a heart murmur and they're keeping an eye out for anything else OTL), but I'm so excited to be on my way to having my old self back! It had gotten to the point where I couldn't move from bed for sometimes three days without becoming extremely exhausted, and sleeping for sometimes 24+ hours. Once again thank you for sharing your own experience with me, it's good to know how others react to the medication. My mother's really secretive about her hypothyroidism and barely tells me anything, and she was hospitalized for it OTL

I'm most likely going to be doing a Nozomi cosplay this summer (Yume no Tobira, though that doesn't really matter), but I'm unsure of what color to go with when I get the wig?? Her hair seems to range from purple-y plum, to nearly black, to grayish-lavender, so I'm having a hard time choosing! Which color do you wise seagulls think works best for the character??

Not the anon you're replying too but sometimes it gets mentioned in some animes. But yeah, otherwise if it isn't mentioned it's pretty munched assumed to be their actual hair color. If anything for a character like Nozomi and Umi, you'd probably use a wig that's either a really dark color or blended with black. Especially since group art can make the color really obvious.

I personally don't like Arda's mixed wigs (like how the dark purple is actually black with purple strands, it stands out really badly irl). Plus their long wigs are known for tangling like crazy.

I'd go for a more-black shade if your skin has pink or yellow undertones. If your undertones are neutral, you can get a more-saturated purple.

It's definitely got purple undertones, but it's very very unsaturated, almost a dark grey. Most people make it way too saturated, which bothers the hell out of me. Such a vibrant colour just looks bad with the outfits. I liked that the girls all have (somewhat) natural hair colours, the purple wigs just throw it off for me.

I added a picture of the closest thing I could find, colour-wise at least. Though if you look at it closely, it's also got the mixed fibers thing going on that >>8050955 described. Good nozomi wigs are apparently hard to come by...
