I've been listening to VK and watching lolita from afar for about 10 years now and I cannot fathom how so many of you people will still cite Mana as the end all, be all of gothic fashion. I like some Moitie pieces myself but, damn, dude's a pretty mediocre designer to say the least, not to mention the outfits he comes up with for himself and his band members. I would agree that not all of them are gothic, but flowers is a gothic motif, as it is commonly used in gothic lolita. This isnt based off of western goth so much, so motifs for this style will be more romantic in nature. Flowers are common, so is architecture, some religious motifs appear too.

As well the whole bows=sweet thing is a nitpicky kind of difference, >>7982194 looks gothic to me. While yes the dress is not as simple in design, so you could argue that the design of the dress fits a more sweet mold. I dont really think it matters too much if it is styled to be gothic.

Velvet also is not a gothic lolita motif.
