The problem is that much powdered chlorine, if bought, has to be tracked. And that much powdered chlorine (enough to evacuate an entire hotel floor) would be missed if stolen. I used to work for a chemical supplier (STEM grad here) and this shit is tagged.

Not that I'm discounting the fact that whoever did it could've had access to the chlorine already, so it could've been just as easy as sneaking out with a giant bag.

(I guess they could've gone into the hotel pool's supplies and stolen the chlorine from there. But hardly any hotel uses powdered chlorine. Most use tablets, or liquid.)

For the record. I've never been to MWFF nor do I have any intent to go, but this happened at the main hotel for ACEN, and in an area shared by other events like WizardWord/ChicagoComicCon as well. There are a lot of events that happen in this area for all varieties of fandoms.

The fact that this happened to any of them, furries or not, is pretty disturbing. I hope they catch and prosecute the fucker to reduce the chances of another type of copycat incident occurring. No one died, but it's still not something I wanna see happen again.
