Also I think Kyoko has a certain "bitch" look about her that only certain people can pull off. Same with Mami"s and having a calming, mature look.

Probably because she's also one of the few that bother using an actual corset.

I don't know why so many people make it out of fabric and sew it onto the shirt.
An actual corset can give you the hourglass shape you need and it pushes your boobs up.
A corset without boning just makes you look fat.

If you read her costume description she did try to do the screen accurate drill curls, but time constraints and general wig-styling difficulties made got in the way. To be fair, I've seen maybe a handful of Mami cosplayers who did the wig in a way that didn't look completely stupid. I personally am a fan of more natural-looking wigs, so the ringlets don't bother me at all.

Cifera has my favorite color Kyoko wig, it's such a nice wine color.
I also really like the color and texture she went with for her Madoka, it's really pleasing to look at.

Most Madoka bodices seem to look unstructured and crinkly and loose whereas the art shows no wrinkles or the slight transparency that some cosplayers have. I wonder if sewing in a boned lining would improve them or just make them look too stiff. It could just be a tailoring issue. I also think a skirt cage/ hoop skirt with some pettis over it could be pretty well utilized for the doughnut poof that Madoka has going on.

Self-post! I always preferred deeper reds for Kyoko, especially since that's how the colors appear in the anime? I'm glad to see other cosplayers who made the same choices. Cifera is my favorite as well.
