This group here are former students of mine that my husband and I took to Otakon 2014...Dipper and Mabel are being cosplayed by actual twins and they all worked so hard putting together their props and costumes...though they did have a little help...

But I think there are some very nice cosplays...but with these dudes I might be a bit biased.

Not that anon but what i personally love about the show is how sure, it has some similar humor as AT or SU but i feel like the plot/humor is well thought out as well as the story. Again that's just my opinion. I like having to REALLY watch each episode and watch for the cryptograms or any of the other crazy ass shit that they hide. I've read the reddit where alex hirsch (creator of the show) let fans ask questions and it was a great read. In it he said that one of the core parts of the show was that he didn't want mabel and dipper to every truly hate each other. He wanted it to be like typical siblings: They get mad at each other but eventually work things out. It's fine if you don't like it though. To each their own.

Pardon the selfpost, I cosplayed giffany for a little local convention a couple months back and got really good feedback even tho it was last minute and sort of sub-par. I made friends with a couple people based on a mutual interest in it, so I think you should go for it anon!

Considering how normal melodys character is though, people will probably only recognize you if you're with a group. I would just wait for a chance to do it with friends and then go for it.

I like GF because I like pretty much any kids show that isn't hinged on LOL RANDOM humor. It has a pretty straight forward plot, but has enough hidden shit to keep you theorizing if you're into that. SU is similar.

As for getting it to stay on my head, it pretty much didn't stay at all, I had a clip half hazardly stuck to the bottom of the center part, which i clipped through my wig. It would just pull the weft up away from my scalp tho so i used a scond bobby pin to hold down to the base of the wig and it work pretty OK.

The fans of Gravity Falls like to come up with all sorts of alternate universe scenarios for the show. One of the more popular ones in "Reverse Pines" where Dipper and Mabel are bad, and Gideon and Pacifica are good. Everyone is similar swapped between good and evil.

Gravity Falls AUs aren't really centralized like that. Basically someone pitches an idea, and if artists and writers like it, they'll make fanart and fanfics of it. People bounce ideas off each other, but there isn't really much of a solid canon for it other than what catches on. It's all rather nebulous.

There is a decent collection of Reverse Pines fanart here.
