I once saw Vic wearing a paisley-printed button up shirt, a brown vest that was probably suede, mustard skinny jeans that gave us a generous outline of his baby carrot, and some worn out brown loafers with mixmatched socks. His sideburns were so dark and overgrown you could've hidden pecans in them.

I have never been so disgusted by a human being in my life. Never.

Once I went to a panel that had Vic in it and like... Halfway through answering someone's question about voice acting he went into this HUGE lecture about how you should do the job god chooses for you. I felt like I was at a church, it was so long and uncomfortable to hear. He also kept talking over his other panelists. I got out of there halfway through the panel lol

A nutcase, and an asshole. There's like a 9-part video of him holding a panel "dispelling rumors" about him in which a bunch of teenage girls go and boo the mean people.

He also made one of the Texas cons (I think Oni-con or Ikkicon? I didn't go but a few friends did) shut the dealers room an hour early because he was the musical guest and didn't want to risk any shoppers overhearing his rehearsal. And they did it because they were pushovers.

He also just acts high and mighty and doesn't use the range he knows he has.

Something that personally weirds me out: when he was announced as Rin Matsuoka's voice actor, he bought a shark plushie and took a shirtless pic with it like "guys I'm excited for this", knowing full well that his fanbase is still mostly in his teens. Why the shirtless pic? Why not just put on a tacky shirt? He owns a lot of them.

i work for a con and boy oh boy. I went around asking prices for a different VA and mentioned how we had vic our first year. Person who i talked to made a comment along the lines of "Many cons dislike vic or refuse to invite him back." He's disrespectful to staff primarily. about an hour before a panel started
>Vic: i'm hungry~! Feed me
>Staff: o-ok...what do you want. There's a steakhouse nearby
>Vic: Yes that. Bring me a menu.

He ordered $250-$300 worth of shit.
then 10-15 min before the panel started he asked if he could go up to his room and fix his hair. He ended up going anyways even though we said not to. Staff has more stories than congoers do since alot more of it's passive aggressive behavior toward the regular congoer. >>7973711
Ew, really? I laughed at the petition people started to stop vic from doing that role only because i knew people would white knight it. "Omg you all are just jealous! Who cares!" Sorry but when you're practically homophobic and refuse to sign Yaoi artwork, what are you gonna do when people bring up Free artwork?
>inb4 why should i care

It's hurtful to the fanbase that doesn't know what vic is like. I understand VA's can turn away whatever they want but Vic knew full well going into this what the Free fandom is like and does shit like the said shirtless pic. Stop feeding the fandoms if that kind of thing bothers you.

Ok I have been saving this story for a few years now, so I want to post it here.

This was Sacanime, years ago when it was still being hosted at the Scottish Rite Center (I don't recall how many years ago it was exactly, but to put it in perspective I was in middle school at the time and I am in college now, so I would put it at 6 or 7 years ago) and Vic was a guest along with Travis Willingham and some others that I can't remember right now.
Me being a big FMA fan (like many in that age group), went to the voice actor Q & A, and later went to the autograph line.
The big difference between this panel and the previous one I had gone to was the energy. Vic just seemed...Hyper? Or nuts.
When a girl dressed up as a shitty Naruto with one of those fucking s&m collar things came up to ask him a question while taping it on her camera, he looked at her and asked her if she was recording.
She obviously was, so he leapt over and rushed down the aisle to tackle her (so it could be taped). Her collar broke during this, and when he got up to return back to the voice actor table, she asked him if he was going to replace her broken collar.
Which he refused to do.

I have more Vic stories (and a video ) if anybody is interested in me posting more.

Ok so it was Sac 2009, good to know.
That video was from the same day, and Vic and Travis were seen playing football in the grass in front of the con.

Vic had been accused of tackling a Riza cosplayer to the ground, and the vid is him "explaining" himself out of it.

He demonstrates on the girl with the biggest boobs in line (he purposely picked her, I know because I am in the back of the video (don't look at me)) that he held her and didn't stiff arm her or whatever.

He said something to me, but I don't recall what it was, but years later at a different Sacanime, I completely avoided him when he was giving autographs. He looked a bit upset, hahahaha.

Also he was selling his Christian Cds both times, ewww.

He spent probably 50 minutes of the hour long panel talking about how much he fucking loved Star Trek and how he did fanfilms as Kirk or someone. After that, he mentioned how he was giving out CDs of himself reading the bible in Edward Elric's voice (who is written as agnostic...?) in RAD, MODERN COLLOQUIAL. Really embarrassing.

Yeah I don't get it other than I guess he is a whore for money. Because one would think that logically, if he doesn't like yaoi and all that goes with it, he'd stay away from characters that are either like that or, have been adopted as such by the fan community.

>>7977955

I STILL am convinced he's gay. I know fashion doesn't mean much, but I have never seen a straight guy with as much bling (outside of New Jersey) as he has on his pants. It's ridiculous. All the stories of him with girls definitely muddle that gay image, and I know it's not just him asking girls to create this image of heterosexuality. He legitimately asks these girls to sleep with him, and when they don't, he causes shit (especially for volunteers. He has been known to report that they were bad volunteers if they refuse to sleep with him). It's just this weird paradox of him being so against yaoi stuff but voicing all these super yaoi-shipped characters, and the gay werewolf porn is just the cherry on top.

But the fact that he still hasn't married his fiancé is fishy. Idk why there's a wait, they're both like 40+. It's one thing to not want to get married, but why get engaged?

Yea and it's fine if he wants to have the right to be homophobic, i'm just saying it's in bad taste to pick these rolls KNOWING about the pairings etc. Don't voice these characters, especially Free, and then turn around and complain when you get Yaoi artwork. And yea, i'm really not surprised about him doing that with volunteers. It's like he has no shame anymore. His entitlement level is ridiculous.

I've read all of TRC and this does have some truth to it. If we are talking about Fai, of course, because he and Chii do have that weird sexually-charged relationship. He's also a lot more outspoken and humorous in the manga, but I hear they changed him a lot for the anime to cater to weeb trash fantasies, which is shitty.
Manga was pretty solid, tho...and a much better story.

Kyle Hebert is really fucking chill. He'll wait outside in line before a panel with the rest of the attendees and just talk with them.
Richard Epcar and Ellyn Stern are super nice and I love going to their panels, especially Anime Bloopers.
Tatum is an absolute sweetheart who gives the best hugs and is amazing to listen to, not just because of his voice I might add. Seriously, listen to some episodes of That Anime Show; the older ones, like the ones with Massey, are phenomenal.
Chuck Huber, while eccentric, is a blast to watch and really intelligent. He enjoys interacting with attendees. I actually enjoyed his Electric Universe theory panel. He's also really genuinely encouraging.
Jon St Jon is super cool; like Duke Nukem cool.
And I like John Swasey and Todd Haberkorn as well. Both are pretty funny, down to earth, and easy to talk to.
Overall, I'd think Chuck has been my favorite guest I've met, but Kyle might be close second; a second meeting with Kyle might change that though, I was really nervous when I first met him.

I staff at a con that has a lot of great guests, and my friend is the guest relations department head at a con.

- Sonny Strait is GREAT. Super friendly, hardly asks for anything, and he stays after his panels (if he has time) if fans want to talk to him. He also will stay after an autograph session ends (if he can), so he can get everyone. Pretty good artist too.

- Ian Sinclair is awesome too. I didn't get to interact with him much since he didn't ask for anything at the con, (He told me and the other handler that he's very independent.) but from what little interaction we had, he's a humble and goofy guy.

- My friend was Todd Haberkorn's handler, he's also a pretty great dude! He usually brings his girlfriend to cons, and she's also nice and friendly. Todd is usually everywhere at a con, he's pretty extroverted and excited to be there and see congoers.

- Christopher Robin Miller is super chill and nice. We were wrapping up a group autograph session of a bunch of VAs at one con, and he had his phone out and showed us pictures of his daughter. (It was Halloween weekend and his wife sent him pictures of their daughter dressed up for trick-or-treating.) ((She was adorable.))

- Cherami Leigh is also really nice!! She gave my friend (her handler) a gift after a con.

It sucks that Vic Mignognogs has such a shitty rep, most VA's are actually nice and friendly people.

That's not an excuse. European conventions have constantly guests from Japan, even a small place like Finland. It's what the visitors pay for, for a well organized convention(and these aren't even nearly as expensive as American cons).

Convention that only has same old cosplayers and American VAs as guests just doesn't care about the quality and satisfaction of customers, and isn't trying enough.

I love Troy Baker. His panels are great cause he's a giant goofball and he makes it really fun overall.

I remember a few years ago when EXPcon existed I went to a Troy Baker panel and what happened was he called Vic McDiaper on the phone and invited him to the panel (he put him on speakerphone and everyone was screaming cause he was nearby on the golf course). Once Vic walked in he shouts I HAVE ARRIVED and everyone's panties were dropping and the floor was super moist. Vic spent all of Troy's hour talking about himself while Troy awkwardly drank his scotch in the background. Later in the day was a panel with him and Aaron Dismuke and what happened was Vic told all of Aaron's stories while that poor kid was just like ''Yea...yup...ya...yup'' the whole time. Let the kid speak, those are his stories, not yours. Shiiit.

There was a con down here in SoFlo called NarutoTrek where it was a [spoiler alert] naruto and star trek con. But it 99% Naruto. I met the voices of Naruto, Sasuke, Sakura, Kurenhai and Shikamaru (and more, I forgot who). Maile was super sweet and so kick ass. During her autograph session she would genuinely engage with her fans and gave them all unique autograph with a compliment or whatever. Yuri Lowenthal was racing with his 6pack of beer to his room cause he didn't want to be surrounded by the yaoi fangirls.

Kyle Hebert is a bro. I hug him every chance I get, and he used to talk to me back on AIM (yes, AOL messenger, that ancient shit). We fell out of touch but last a-kon my friend cosplayed a character he voiced and just froze and made a shocked face. He saw her, made the same face, then they both had to fight off laughter so I could get a picture of it. We had been having a bad night but he turned it around so fast.

J. Michael Tatum is also a wonderful person. I met him staffing a small con and he was just so chill and had fun just roaming around at the con. Even told me that if I wanted a breather he would cover and say I totally spent half an hour making sure he was good if I just wantedt squeeze in a power nap. He's all smiles and full of life, and I hadn't even heard many of his roles but I adored him so much I went and watched a few clips of him voicing people almost immediately after the con.

He's a born again Christian nut

It attended Eirtakon a couple of years back and one of the stipulations of him attending was they had to put his religious literature in the con bag. He was also handing out free CDs of 'The bible according to Vic Mignogna'

Yeah no thanks Prick Mangina my country has been fucked over by religion, a couple of years ago an Indian woman died because she wasn't allowed an abortion to hasten along the miscarriage which wasn't proceeding as expected. ProLifers (well the pro-reproductive slavery brigade/forced birthers) harassed her husband into leaving Ireland for America because he brought their story to the media

He also holds Sunday religious services at American cons and he's serious about it, when I first heard about it I thought 'it's probably a parody like Jonathan Woodward's Sunday Service' (Communion in Jonathan's one involves lining up to take a swig from his whiskey bottle)

Speaking of the con bags they were fucking quality the following year, Eirtakon is run by the DCU anime society so the con bags were left over student bags from Fresher's week which had a can of tuna and a muffin (mouldy in my case)

There's a small con in Charlotte called Ichibancon where I've nearly interacted with him twice.

The first time was a couple of years ago. I had a friend working in the dealers room and we were going to meet up after it closed, so I was just kind of walking around near closing time. There was really no one in there at that point other than the venders, but Egg Mcnogna (and a handeler I think) walked in and was looking at the booths. I remember he was wearing some kind of weird meshy shirt and some way-too-tight pleather pants. It was basically just the two of us in this really small dealers room, and he kept giving me sideways glances and smiling at me. I just tried not to make eye contact, but he seemed genuinely confused that I wasn't fangirling over him.

Makes me chuckle to this day to think of how weebs would have killed to be in that situation. Especially because earlier that night I had gone to dinner with a friend and his group of friends and this one bitch literally spent the whole time talking about how Dick Mangina had kissed her on the cheek and was impressed with her wallscroll because it was from a lesser known anime he did or something and he asked her where she got it. I think she was even president of an anime club or something. I kind of wish I had seen her the next day just to tell her, but then again I wouldn't have wanted to stand around and listen to her scream for another 2 hours.

The second time was last year at Ichibancon. I was cosplaying Aigis and my boif at the time was cosplaying Akihiko. We ran into a good Yukari cosplayer and spent probably about 20 minutes chatting about Persona 3/Sewing techniques. About halfway through our conversation I looked over and realized we had been standing in front of where Filet Mignog was signing autographs. He once again seemed upset that we weren't acknowledging him in all his Junpei glory, which I thought was funny because we were very clearly discussing Persona 3 and even Junpei within earshot of him. There was a part of me that wanted to yell "WHO'S DA MAN?" as we were walking away though, not gonna lie.

I always wonder how those tiny conventions can afford him though. I guess he must be cheap.

I used to hate Vic Migogna until he told us during a panel how he spends all his voice acting money making amateur Star Trek episodes. He literally rented out a studio, built exact replicas of the Enterprise sets, got actors together, and filmed full-length episodes of classic Trek. That's when I realized Vic was a pretty fucking cool dude.

(the actual conversation with CLAMP at AX)

"Fai and Kurogane seem to represent a sort of yin/yang idea, black and white, light and dark. Did you intend for there to be a kind of opposites attract sort of thing with them? (The audience goes wild at this point with much enthusiastic yelling and cheering. You have just got to love those otaku fangirls.)
Ohkawa-sensei laughed a bit and then looked quizzically at the audience. She asked if it is the fans' desire to see these two paired up (The audience breaks into even greater yells and cheers of affirmation. It was an amazing thing to witness). Ohkawa-sensei continued with the answer. Syaoran as a young hero is the main character of the story and is still growing and developing. The CLAMP artists wanted some adult side characters to accompany him. Kurogane is dressed in black but is a more straightforward character. Fai is dressed in white but his character is harder to read. Ohkawa-sensei continues... In the current installment, Fai is in a tight spot. You might not be happy with it."

This is literally the only conversation about their relationship that CLAMP had at AX, and it was with Colleen Clinkenbeard. He's so full of shit.

Oh my god, how the fuck did Vic even get into voice work in the first place? Or rather, who's idea was it to cast him as characters that would be popular with young girls? His voice is so grating, nasally and infuriating. I can see him voicing snot-nosed assholes/bad guys and that's it, but no, he gets cast as bishounen/good guys far more often than the roles that are more suited to his awful voice.

I've met a few.

>Kyle Herbert
Super cool guy. Incredibly nice person to talk to and he took the time to do fan requests and pictures and stuff no matter how ridiculous. He was chatting with people outside panels and stuff too. Sounds like Kamina 24/7

>Elizabeth McGlynn
She seemed disinterested in the con but was polite. She did fan requests and photos when asked but didn't really go out of her way to connect with fans like Kyle. Nice lady overall, but not too interested in cons I guess.

>Steve Blum
Great guy. Stayed late at his Q&A panels to answer every question. Had GREAT stories about the industry and life in general. His range is really incredibly too, he can do all kinds of voices at the drop of a hat. He stayed around after the panel and some friends and I got to chat with him and get pictures. He stayed a couple hours late at his autograph signing too so that everyone could meet him. I got some art commissioned for him to sign and he took the time to comment on it and even took a picture of it. He did a panel with some other guests and he basically let them own it. Never tried to talk over them or anything like that. Easily my favorite VA.

>> No.7997379

I want to know. Why the fucking fuck is Vic so popular? He has no range, since he uses the same voice for every character. He's a drama queen. He's a creeper. Con staff and volunteers rarely have anything pleasant to say about him. He acts like a 14-year-old girl. He's a Jesus freak and is probably in the closet. He wastes valuable con time which could be dedicated to anime programming for Sunday service. He lies and does really stupid and creepy shit, and then denies it.

And his fangirls think he's a god who can do no wrong. Some brat today told me that I'm just upset that Fai's not really gay. Um, sorry, but... no. He's probably bi. Read some other manga by CLAMP or watch some of the anime adaptations and you'll see that they have gay all over the place. Oh wait, you won't. It's not by your god Vic McNuggets, so you won't.

Nah everyone is quite aware of how weird his casting choices are. He voiced a character who is very outspokenly agnositc, several characters who are ambiguously gay (one from a series created purely to please fujoshi), and even straight up gay porn, but is personally very religious and homophobic. Whereas other VAs who keep their beliefs and views on homosexuality to themselves don't get typecast as whiny gay teen boys. Sometimes I wonder if his agent is fucking with him, or if he makes these choices himself to optimize his own appeal to horny underage girls.

>Sells out
>Big success
>Wow
>"Hey, because we are scum and included an escape clause, we are going to have to ask for $1,000,000.00 USD or no deal."

So if you want a (ROBOTIC MUSICAL SINGING PERSONAS) concert at your convention, you better be able to dish out a mil to these corporate scumbags.

Funimation as a company is a bit odd too.
>(lots of cons do this) Offer Funimation free booth at convention for the past 5 years
>The space they take up is valued at $3,000 because they need a lot of space, plus we could give those spots to paying dealers.
>Every year they increase their demands while decreasing the amount of things they offer (Panels + Workshops + etc.)

I turn to a page in the AN guide with the Beyblade cast redesigned for S2, and Daniel commented on how his character seemed to be less buff than before, and I had to explain to him how it was a redesign. Well I've never met him, but Arin has never been funny and now he's just insufferable. I don't know how someone can look and dress that sobbish can have such an ego.

And his fans draw and animate him looking so cool, puke.

Never met him, but Jon's been pretty...ehhhhhhh recently. Supposedly a fan politely asked him not to use the word "retarded" and he turned it into a big "I'm not going to censor myself!!" public to-do.

I've had some friends who volunteered at San Japan a few years back say that Arin was pretty cool to them, but no personal experience.

TBH, I'd like to see the Super Best Friends at some US cons, but since they live in Canada, they don't go to many unless they're invited, afaik.

You must have been high. She's one of the nicest industry guests. Her panels are great and informative and she gives out presents that she paid for out of pocket. You can tell she loves her job.

I have never heard a story about Chris being as bad as his brother. Details?
