They're supposed to hook into the lootle loops at the base of the wig, that way you can adjust how big it is so it fits your head properly. But if you hook them together and that fits, there's no real issue with it.

When I first got into lolita I thought that brand was way expensive so I'd just totally make my own. The first thing I attempted to make was a JSK with a 3-tier ruffle skirt. I altered a pattern, thought it was awesome, cut things out and sewed like a madwoman. My mistakes? I'll just list them

>Overestimated how tall I was, the skirt ended up calf length.
>Didn't increase the fabric in each ruffle, so the last tier was sad and flat
>sewing techniques sucked balls. No lining, no topstitching, not a single correctly done hem to be found. I shudder to think of it.
And finally;
>I made it out of three different types of fabric. Solid black, strawberries on a black background, and black with red polkadots. All on the same dress.

Thankfully I realized my mistake and this experiment never saw the light of day, and has long since been torn apart for scraps. After all that I began to realize why brand cost what it did.

Thanks anon but it was shit. I used some of that cheap Asian market beauty supply store hair spray and spray dyed a brown wig white. What ended up happening was a wig full of flaky fumes that gave me headaches and made me dizzy.

I wore a wig cap at least but I didn't match my eyebrows.

I wish I took a picture so I can laugh at it. The L one was worse because it was a teal long sleeve sweater like shirt.

Most people are around 20 or so on this board so this probably took place about ten years ago when cosplay was just starting to become more common. Her mom most likely had no idea what she was doing and treated the whole thing like making a Halloween costume. And you don't buy two wigs just for some silly cartoon costume. Furthermore, since her mom let her go to a con when she was 13 she was probably at least somewhat supportive of her hobbies. Parents aren't going to understand why every detail has to be immaculate perfect in cosplays. Her mother was most likely just proud her kid took the initiative to make the whole thing herself..

Oh god, she's wearing the WRONG kind of dance tights. I've been dancing for years, those are what have kindly been dubbed "shiny mexican tights" by most of the girls who are forced to wear them.

She should have gotten the correct matte tights that match her skin tone, or at least come close.

It also makes more of a difference when you're showing more leg - she may have been able to get away with it, but if I were wearing something with booty shorts and heels, I'd wear tights.

I wish i could say my noob mistake was when I was really young but, it wasn't. I was 17, I wanted to be unique on halloween so I thought I'd be a "harujuku girl" and it was sad looking back on it.

White camo shirt with a button up shirt over it unnbuttoned, crappy blue miku wig i didn't know how to cut, black tutu skirt with two different thigh high socks, those weird cybergoth fuzzy legwarmers in bright red, a light up gasmask, and random hair clips everywhere which my little sister had.

Luckily the gasmask made it where not many people could recognize me and I almost got attacked by a dog but, I guess it could have been worse? I can always look at the pics though and cringe laugh at least.

I did that A LOT.
I think the worst offence was trying to turn a normalfag tube top into ~gosurori corset~. I've sewn cheap cotton ('it's not raschel so it must be quality!') lace on both hems and then made a fake lacing with *just* ribbon. No eyelets, hooks, just sewn onto fabric. And then I made a bow pin with clay skull to adorn it.

Bought a skirt from a shitty local designer. Not only was she the most rude person i've ever met, she made the skirt so big that me and my friend could fit into it at the same time!! Just because i am plus sized does not mean my waist measurements are actually equator. Bitch personally measured me twice and still fucked it up. had the nerve to give me the skirt smelling so strongly of smoke that it took days to air out/clean enough to get it out. It's just shameful what people call their "brand."
