Let me do something really crazy....and turn this in to an honest to goodness-not-catty-bitch-hour.

For those that cosplayed Rapunzel in the past. Have you used the released patterns from the Halloween collections or have you combined ones? If so which ones?

Also what was your prefer on material and applying the detailing to the skirt itself?

The blue dress is pretty easy and there's lots of patterns out there that look just like it. The apron is easy too. Just buy a pattern just like it but with basic sleeves and change the sleeve pattern yourself.
This is a shit diagram of what's going to happen with the sleeve. Since it's gathered, it's going to be twice as long, but still the same width. Here's a tutorial that might explain better what you have to do. http://crafty-dame.livejournal.com/7449.html
Just do mockups before you make your final draft and it'll be fine.

Awful picture sorry!

My Alice costume was made in a day. I need to remake it but it was really easy. The only problem I had was I was rushing so my collar wasnt right.

I have so much fabric in this dress that it takes two petticoats to hold up. The apron took me an hour and the dress about 3.

Cotton or cotton blends are good for Alice. Just look through woven fabrics and find something that's safe to iron. So cotton or certain polyester blends, no rayon. Knits won't hold their shape as well as woven fabrics. Make sure you read the washing and ironing instructions on the bolt of fabric and pre-wash your fabric before sewing so that you can wash the costume after you wear it. Cute dresses and white aprons attract stains like crazy.
