It's a rather gloomy Sunday here where I am - but I think everyone could use a good laugh.

Post any cosplay-related tutorial you find particularly unhelpful, unconvincing, dangerous, pointless, hilariously bad etc.

I'll kick it off with a crossplay makeup tutorial. Not the worst ever, but not effective either.

Really guys? OP wanted a fun thread and didn't say anything about not allowing personal blogs or whatever, they just wanted to see some shitty tutorials from any source.

We get enough of that on lolita threads and honestly if you were so against her being an attention whore, the least you could do is to simply ignore her.

Speaking of PS I Made This- has anyone ever seen an actual nice-looking project from her? Like one that was nice enough you would consider actually following the tutorial and using/wearing the end product?

Just curious.

I think the tutorial that makes me cringe most is the "Chalkboard Handbag" one where she paints on a Kate Spade leather bag. I'm not even a handbag junkie but I know those bags run $200+ but she probs doesn't care if the items are sponsored/donated.

Whenever they're posted, just seeing them makes me laugh so I've gotten this Pavlovian effect of loving it. Obviously it's not a good method for serious "realistic" cosplay, but now I love the actual look of it un-ironically for what it is (fucked up/weird shading).

I think one of my favorite tutorials was her necklace using packing tape spools. I'm pretty sure even a 12 year old would think this was a terrible idea. The necklace was so ugly that her delusional description somehow made it become tolerable... but not really.

I spend all this time fretting and worrying about what I sew. It takes me such a long time to complete just a single project. But here's this girl that makes something that is shit in the details, but from a distance, is kind of cute. She probably finished this in a day. I have the knowledge to use proper finishing, a proper dress base, proper fabric and color choice, but I'm not doing it. She's the one who has a bunch of homesewn dresses. She's taking the chance to fuck up in order to gain experience. It's a pretty brave thing to do. I'm just sitting here preparing without actually completing anything.

While we know they were going for actual pony-size eyes but didn't have a good solution for making the iris match how much bigger she made the whites.

Like, I don't even think there is a good solution for making the iris match how big the whites are. Circle lenses can't make up that kind of difference and scleras are too creepy for the look.
