Yeah I agree with you completely. The asspat culture makes me want to leave the group, but as I stated in another thread, it's like watching a trainwreck in slow motion and I want to look away, but I just can't.
This girl is so insane, not wanting to take concrit. My fear is that she'll go out and people will be like "what are you wearing?" and she'll tell them that it's lolita. Glad to see someone agrees! Honestly, I think it's more than her poorly representing Lolita. It's that she doesn't care to learn about the aesthetic enough to realize that her outfit is neither cohesive nor appropriate for the style. Actually it's just not appropriate. Part of being new is getting it wrong. My first coord sucked. But at least I knew I needed a petticoat, a skirt/dress, a blouse and something to go on my legs. (Head too preferably) once you get those down the rest is left up to taste building. It takes time to make a tasteful outfit especially when plus sized. She needs a mentor.

Wow, this is a toughie. I really wanted to say this is nitpick rather than ita, because the silhoutte is cute, the idea is adorable, the girl is cute and if you can be colour blind for a little bit, it looks pretty cute.

But then I realise that the colour matching prroblems are so pervasive nothing matches anything else. In order to fix this coord you'd have to pick one main item, throw out everything else and start over from scratch. That, or inflict colour blindness on the rest of the world, because that's the only way this looks good.

Almost. I was going to cut her out too but in her case she was going in the other direction thus trying too hard. I'll take that over the other 3 I cut out.

If you are scared of washing it, bring it to a professional to get it cleaned, seriously.
This type of fabric is also easily washed without problems with running colors anyway.

No, picture it. A blue-and-white lacey top with equally blue legs, and then, cutting her in half, a yellow skirt. That's not really a good look either. "A pop of colour" requires the pop to be a much smaller scale, eg a blue-and-white onepiece with one large yellow brooch. Not a whole skirt.

I'll give you that she could maybe keep the blouse, probably (we don't actually know what's under the cardi, it may be sleeveles or unflattering), the necklace and a few of the flowers (the offwhite ones and the lime yellow one needs to go). That's it.

I'd replace the tights with white ones and the shoes with some colour that matches (either matching blue, or matching yolk yellow of the skirt, or even white shoes would be okay). Still, that's basically tossing out everything except the skirt and the accessories and the blouse is a very big maybe.
