Sorry for reposting this but I posted it in the last thread just hours before it got deleted so here we go again

I'm planning on doing a nun themed cord for Halloween, so I quickly put together pic related. I don't have any of those headdresses, I'm planning on making them myself.

I'm planning on doing a Phantom-themed coord with Masquerade Theater. I got a really cool half mask, but I'm trying to decide if a cape would be too much. Also, yay or nay on the matching bonnet?

That's kind of what I was thinking, too. I'm trying to remember what kind of headwear he has in the movie... But a top hat would probably also be overkill. I think I'll just stick to a simple black canotier or something.

If it's the red JSK post pics so you can revel in my jelly. A cape could never be too much IMHO, but no to the bonnet. A big floral headpiece would be better if not a top hat.

Working on a witch coord because I'm seriously basic. Puling my hair out trying to find a witch hat that won't break the bank.

Haha, it's the black colorway.

New dilemma--I have two cloaks, one half-length and one full-length. Both velvet. I'm thinking the half one, since it ends up being about the same length as the skirt...

>> No.7869129

>>7869086

I think the half-length one would look cuter! And much less costumey. Think of Red Riding Hood inspired outfits, they usually wear half-length cloaks instead of full-length.

Half length would be much better. You know how much people complain when a peignoir goes past the skirt length

I think a Queen Mab or just a fae/seelie/unseelie inspired coord could be really elegant but still give a lot of room to be obviously a Halloween themed outfit.

I'm really curious about this since I've only just joined the fashion in the past year and am going to my first Halloween meetup, but what are all your comms doing for it?

Oh we're doing a Halloween bash at a girl's home too. It's not my first meet but it's my first meet where I've actually got over the socially awkward stage and I'm ready to start making friends.

I was planning on during a guro nurse theme but I won't get it done on time so I'm just going to dress in Chess Chocolate and give out chocolates to everyone.

I got Merry Making in the Ghost Town in navy just in time for Halloween meet-ups and it matches none of my navy and none of my purple. Guess I'm just going to buy a witch hat and wear some lacy tights. I'm at a loss.

>> No.7884577

>>7884569
Yeah the navy is very dark with more red in the mix than other navys and the purple is just a weird purple. It doesn't even match other aatp navy/purple stuff outside the series.

Go with golds, black accents and you could try wines for blouse and legware or shoes

>> No.7884593

I wonder if I could get away with some black and gold Chantilly checkered tights. Sadly I have no wine blouses but I do have wine shoes... hmmm. Thanks Anon.

>> No.7884603

>>7884593
You could get away with those socks. Just don't do a huge block of black (like a blouse or solid black legware) since the print only has black accents (lace and trim) against the navy. But cheques should be fine! The only black I usually wear with mine is shoes and jewelry/hair pieces. You could maybe get away with a brown blouse with the navy, but then the black accents work against you. An ivory blouse might work though throwing in something so light with an overall dark outfit could look weird, but it could tie in with the glittery bright stars on the print. I've had it in Navy since last year and I'm still puzzling out new coords to work with it, it's an annoyingly hard color way to do anything with that isn't considered 'safe' so to speak.

Just got done making myself a witch hat as well. Going to a Harry Potter even tomorrow and I didn't have much time to get any hufflepuff accessories...

>> No.7887722

Anyone got more tiny witch hats like >>7884816? I'm trying to pull together a sort of hime witch thing and I've realized a big hat is going to be a huge hassle since this is a super windy area.
Also if anyone can suggest anything to add? This is a basic rundown of what I got, no pics because still waiting on boning for bodice.
>same color purple as linked post, with black swirled designs of witches and cats
>simple skirt with black ruffle
>bodice is 18th century stays pattern, has ribbon shoulder straps
>black sheer organdy peasant blouse with eyelet work on sleeves and high-ish scoop neck (clavicle shows but not like off shoulder or anything)
>purple velvet ribbon choker with black cat charm and matching earrings
>black lace tights
>black 18th century shoes with purple velvet ribbons (similar to American Duchess ones)
Im thinking of adding a black underskirt and pulling the purple skirt up with ribbons, and maybe adding a ribbon brooch to the bodice.

Baby has a smaller witch hat right now that is black with some lavender in it. I'm not sure if that would work for you?

Also semi-related, but I'm looking for a larger witch hat. Anyone know where I can get a decent one on a short notice?

>> No.7889904

>>7889855

Just get a pre-made witch hat from a Halloween store of Wal Mart and frill it up a bit. Even if you can't sew, you could hot glue on some lace (carefully so it's not sloppy) and some fake flowers to make it fancy. Some of the pre-made ones are already frilled up, too. That's your best bet, if you don't want to make one.

Do most lolitas do witch themes for Halloween? It seems so strange that Halloween is a time to dress up as anything you want yet everyone picks being a witch

Halloween at Hogwarts, it was hosted by the Phoenix Symphony in Arizona.

They had little craft and activity stations around the lobby, like an instrumental petting zoo, sorting hat, wand making, trivia, etc... As for the performance itself there was actually some acting that set up a story line for the performance. Which was actually pretty neat, because they explained the different sections of the symphony what certain instruments were.

Overall, even though the event was aimed at children, but we had a lot of fun! There was a decent amount of 20-somethings dressed in costume, my best friend and I were the only lolitas.
