Excuse me gentlemen. Just visiting from /co/, and I figured this would be the best place to ask. I've been considering making one of these masks for Halloween, but the only pictures and references I find of them are from an old dailymail article. This is the perfect faceless mask for my purposes, not like those disgusting cloth ones. I prefer to have one that resembles my skin. Anybody know how to make one?

Anyone? Come on now guys, no help for a poor anon?

This is a very very slow board. Even if you stop posting in this thread completely, it will probably take it a few days to drop off.

Also as a visitor you should probably have read the sticky, checked the catalog, and seen the bright and shiny Halloween help thread made just for asking these kinds of questions.

Hmm. Apologies, didn't know. Must've been on /b/ a little too long. But I figured I had better come here before I bug /co/ with this.

Just give it a bit dude. Its pretty dang late at night for most of the world. Check back tomorrow.

Also I'm not experienced with latex prosthetics, but from the demos I've seen at trade shows, to do a flawless mask like that you're gonna need to make a mold of your face, apply clay to a cast made from it to smooth it and get the right shape, make a mold of that, and then fill with latex and allow to set. Test fit to face, make perforations on eye area, nose area, and probably mouth area. Apply, paint, blend. Probably not something you can accomplish without an assistant.

Your image is of a professionally done makeup for a high profile viral marketing campaign, which is probably why you can't find any info on how to whip one up via Youtube or whatever.

It'll most likely involve latex or silicone appliances and making a mold of your face

That's home made brah. If you'd like to make one it'll be kinda expensive. Basically you make a clay copy of your head or get a mannequin like pic related and make a mold from it. Then cast it in liquid latex.

To be honest you'll get decent effect from layered pantyhose

yeah, try stretchy fabric or layered pantyhose with little holes over your eyes + a hat (or a wig or so).

OP's pic won't be achievable by normal means; better try the "zentai" look with covered ears and hair for a cheap halloween costume.

Brain blast!
Why not get a foam form, or make a rough head shaped thing with chicken wire and hopes, or a balloon then
>take layers of panty hose
>put on form
>paint on white liquid latex (can be bought a a sex shop lol)
>dry
>paint on more
>paint in flesh tones
>poke holes where your eyes and mouth will be and
Viola!
Might work, if you can do the coatings right and it doesn't stick to the form.

I don't know if it might work as well or better, but it would be more cost effective to do paper mache.

Related question: how would one make the face of a zentai suit smooth and faceless?

You could probably do the panty hose thing and reduce the contour of your nos and ears... other than that I've got nothing.

you mean like without a nose bump or anything, a completely smooth face? Try getting one of those shiny mirror finish masks they sell at Halloween shops and wearing it underneath. You could try various kinds of stiffened fabric attached to one of those cheap plastic face masks too, but remember that you need room to breathe and a way to see.
