So this has probably been asked before but....

I'm a cosplayed wanting to get into Lolita but I still prefer to make my own dresses/costumes.
I see a lot about 'brand' and the such and I just wonder if making my own dress is advisable? This is assuming the dress is well made.
Also in the air as to what style to do in general.

I can see what she was going for, but that skirt already has many pastel colors on its palette so the dark brown is too much.
