Please share anything adorable and tea related in this thread!
Adorable tea pots, infusers, cozies, cakes and cookies that scream to be set for you, dressed to the nines in your best Lolita, at a lovely tea party.
Tea parties are not essential, but don't they just make you feel extra feminine?

also those strawberry tea infusers are flimsy shit, and need smaller holes, wich is a pity as they're cute.

It's for loose leaf, you can normally just put moderately ground stuff in there (Nothing too fine). There's all kinds of different infusers out there, that do different things. Hit up a local tea store and check around, don't be afraid to ask questions.

I'm going to dump a bunch of cute photos in a few, but one word to the wise. Don't buy from teavana. Buy pretty much anywhere but teavana.

Their tea is cheap, the pad it with popcorn (say it's "for freshness" when it's really for filler) and you never ever get what you pay for. There are many many online shops that provide better quality than teavana. A place that touts monkey picked oolong as their best tea and trains their employees to tell people that silver needle has no caffeine is the place to stay away from.

Another type I'd recommend is Hydrangea-based teas. Hydrangea has a naturally sweet aftertaste. You can find plain hydrangea tea on ebay from Korean sellers, listed as Snow Dew Green Tea. Two to three leaves per cup and you're usually good to go.

"Cha" by definition isn't only the leaves themselves, but refers to fact you heat water, filter water using some sort of plant matter, and drinking it for the benefit of cleaner water. Taste was a plus. And even looking at historical standing view, this was what tea was consumed for.

By that extension, coffee snobs can go shoot themselves for shit-talking tea, coffee is a fucking tea, too.

My favorite tea is honied-yuzu tea; it's citrus fruit looking like lemon except lot more bigger and with more wrinkles. It's tea in Asia, where it originated from.

The title for the geniuses that have created chemical mouth wizardry are flavorists. Anything artificially flavored is just so because a flavorist broke down the chemical compounds of what makes things taste the way they do and created it in a lab setting.
In fact, there are even a few artificial flavors that are much less.. messy, like one type of natural raspberry flavor comes from a gland on a beavers ass, and apple flavor, when natural, will contain cyanide, simply because in the processing plant, they can only eliminate so much of the seeds that contain the poison.

There is also a nebula floating in space that would taste of raspberries and rum if you could survive removing your helmet long enough to try it.

Fun facts!

As for relating this to tea, there really is no reason to avoid teas with flavorings, since it's all the same chemicals you're ingesting anyways, just know that if you go for a flavored tea, don't expect to get any extra benefits like vitamins you'd find in the fruit or what have you.

In West, tea is by color of leaves
In Asia, tea is by color of the tea itself

Ceylon, now known as Sri Lanka, generally produces black tea. It is one of the highest grade by western standard, especially when added words like "orange pekoe" and etc, which refers to how big and how little-to-no damage the tea leaves suffered during the entire process.

There are one or two known sources of green Ceylon, but 99% of the time it is black. If it was green, it would also say it, for your easier indication.

I figured this might be a good place to ask this.

Recently I've been going through my Great Grandparents stuff because we need to sell some of it since it's been sitting in storage for about 30 years. But in it, I found a lot of really lovely and near perfect tea sets.

Some of them are purple flowers with saucers to match and teapots and other little things from The Netherlands around 1949-1954. Would lolitas or anyone be interested in the set? I might ask for a bit of a price on them since they're rather old with all their paperwork of manufacture but we have about 5 different sets that I honestly have no idea what to do with.

Afraid I'm not in EU. I'm West Coast but I'd be more than happy to do some really careful shipping if any of the sets strike you for half off.

I have a few sets so I'll try to get some pictures of them set up nicely and post them to the BTS thread! I'll put 'teasetanon' too.

Thanks you guys! I really want them to go to a good home since they're rather pretty and have sets from The Netherlands, to Japan, to Germany, Switzerland and France.(Great-Grandpa was WWII Major so they traveled a lot and Great-Grandma loved collecting things)

Can anyone recommend a good tea for die hard coffee drinkers? I keep trying and trying to delve into tea, but I grew up on coffee from a pretty early age and it's hard for me not to think about coffee WHILE I'm trying to enjoy the tea. So far I like chai tea or anything kind of creamy tasting. I thought I would like straight black tea, but no. I tasted this amazing Mango one at David's Tea, but I feel like they brew way better than I could and I can't replicate how good that is at home. I sprung for a pumpkin spice because I like cinnamon, nutmeg--the works--but it was weak no matter how much I added.

I'm just going to recommend my favorites, don't know if you'll like them, but I love these ones:
Earl Grey (There are different variants, some are more "flowery" with more bergamot, some kinds like Russian Earl Grey are more citrus-y. Lady Grey is nice too, it has lavender as an added flavor.)
Lapsang Souchong (Nice smoky, strong flavor. It's a bit unorthodox but I enjoy it mixed with Earl Grey sometimes.)
Rooibos is nice sometimes too, it has no caffeine content so it's nice before bed.

Also, buy loose-leaf if you can. And never drink Lipton shit.

Hate to point this out, but that's Japanese, not English, and in English "tea" is defined as "a hot drink made by infusing the dried, crushed leaves of the tea plant in boiling water."

Therefore, technically, everything else is a "tisane"
