I do find this borderline distasteful but the crown of thorns also puts the image of a tangle of branches (almost nest-like), mirrored in the print of the dress in my mind, and somehow because of that, despite the religious connotations, it manages to just be a tad disagreeable rather than especially offensive. Having said that though, I think a tangle of more upright (less halo-like) branches/thorns in black would actually look better, as well as being even more ambiguous regarding the whole 'I is imitating jee-zoo' thing.

Miss Nana too, loved her style so much - could so easily go hot mess and yet she pulls it off beautifully.
