NY here, in US I feel it depends 'class' (not social class) of the person. Some people are gross enough to just track mud/rainwater/grass clippings/farm residue in their homes, while regular people take them off at the door or only allow guests in with them.
Then there are people who do it by habit/culture. Like, my half Japanese friend is married to a south Chinese girl so her parents are part of the package, and they literally gasped when my baby nephew ran into the house before we could catch him to tear off his shoes.

IMO I'm inbetween. The only time you wear shoes inside your house is when you're hosting a party/dinner with guests. If it's just movie night, you take that shit off.

Depends on your floor too. I've noticed way more apartment dwellers with hardwood floors walking around in shoes for a bit than anyone with carpet.

My family's latino and we don't wear shoes indoors either, but if you're from a tropical climate with a ton of nature around, you're obviously going to be tracking something in with shoes on. Just seems logical.

It looks too froofy and pink to be taken seriously, you won't give a good impression, especially if you're in certain fields such as finance, banking, accounting, or management.

At the same time, it looks too much like office wear, so much so that you might feel you're still at work, only in different colours. That's why most women on here would prefer to wear lolita, otome, hime, or would prefer to go casual with t-shirt and jeans. We don't want to wear our work clothes while we're out having fun not working.

Tiered skirts like that were really in about a year ago. They might still be in major stores? Try cheaper clothing chains near you, the ones that are usually behind the trends or a bit 'trashy' (I don't know the right word for it, basically low quality clothing that can border tacky), they'll probably have the skirts in stock for a decent price.

I'm in my thirties. Wouldn't wear it for the reasons anon listed. Would wear lolita and otome, though, takes about a decade off my real age.
