I'm starting a Link cosplay and I just wanted your opinion on something.

What's the general consensus on mixing the different Links?
Is it okay to take a little bit of everything? Is it better to stick to only one set Link?
What about personal flare? Like added things to make it look better?

I've seen all of these done well, but I just wanted some input.
Thanks

Don't.

Just choose one Link design and stick to it, you have at least a dozen to choose from.

If you want to do something different do it by using nicer "more realistic materials and details"

Mixing the Links is terrible. They come from different periods in time and they are different people. You'll end up looking like a chimera of green elves standing in one spot and clipping into each other.

Majora and Ocarina are linked

I never said every individual game is a different Link, just each different design.

And that pun was totally intended, don't lie.

well it really depends. I see nothing wrong with taking the Minish Cap and adding accents/embroidery from Twilight Princess and etc. if you want to do a mash up in that style, but die in a fire if you think it's okay to have cartoon Link tunic but a "realistic" Link undershirt and the like.

I'm currently working on a LoZ group cosplay that has a ton of personal flair and non-canon elements based on the games and it's been a lot of fun. Do what you gotta do, but within reason.

I can't stand people who mix Link's costumes with different timelines/games. To me, it screams someone who's never played the games and just wants to jump on the trend train. It tends to just look a mess as well and piss people off. Just stick with one version of Link.
