A rape kit tends to be standard procedure. Either they did one and found nothing. Or they did one AND FOUND NOTHING. Unless of course she knows she fucked her "no strings attached" ex and doesn't want to admit that part. The police aren't charging him with assault & battery or sexual assault for this incident, only that he was banging an underage girl without knowing. I've known too many women who, as soon as their relationship turns a little rocky and they fear being left alone, consider "accidentally" getting preg just to force him to stay. I have the plastic Mirena. The planned parenthood I was at didn't offer the copper ones so I can't speak for those specifically. I have tons of issues with the plastic one. The first month was absolute hell with pain, not to mention a period that lasted over 40 days. After that it was extremely long, painful periods. I had long and difficult periods as is, but these were even worse. Over time they got better and became much shorter, but I am having the issue of them not being "periods" per se, and it's just light brown - dark brown blood. I know it's old blood, but it happens every month for 5-8 days so it's a bit dumb.

The biggest issue I have with it is if I'm constipated. I know it's gross etc, but the hardened mass pushes against the IUD and causes a ridiculous amount of pain. As for the strings, my partner is uh..."well endowed" and has never had any issues with them. Mine curled upwards and I can't even reach them anymore and he can never feel them. Even when I first got them he never felt them as they did cut them quite short. If you get it and he can feel them, just go back in and ask them to shorten them as it shouldn't be an issue.

And compared to most of the shit on the market, Nexplanon has very little risk and side effects.
I got mine almost 2 years ago and I'm loving it. No periods and no cramps. My doctor wanted to push an IUD on me.
