I'm pretty naturally camera shy, so I don't have any pictures of us together, (The pic is of a really nice Joker and Harely. Even though I despise them coupled together) but we cosplay together pretty much whenever we can.
It's like always having an awesome group partner. Then we try to rope more of our friend into it as well.

My boyfriend was actually the first one to suggest couple cosplaying when we first started dating, which I thought was adorable.

We've done a Pokemon trainer and a Pokemon so far but I don't know if it really counts since we both had the costumes since before we started going out. It just worked out in the couple sense so we've re-worn them. We also had another set planned for San Japan but he felt self-conscious at the last minute so we ended up not wearing that.

He's better at props and I'm better at sewing so that's how we split the work, but we do help each other with what we can.

Not at the moment. He buys/commissions most things, and I'll make some stuff, but he's slowly learning to sew. I think he's interested in making props/armour in the future (once he's got space to do it)

Pretty willing. He's open to most of my couple suggestions (as I said, we're into a lot of the same series and games), but a lot of plans keep getting pushed back and swapped about because of time/sewing ability/money.

Not really! I had to push a bit for our next couple, but I think that was more because it's a pretty big project and we might get swamped for photos(we're being Anna and Kristoph)

Wigs aren't a problem for him, as longs as I help him put them on. Make-up is still a no, but he's worn nail polish for Vocaloid cosplays, and I wouldn't even ask him to try contacts unless it was his idea. I don't wear coloured contacts myself so it would be hypocritical of me to demand he did!

My boyfriend and I havent been together very long (only a few months) but since we both cosplay, we have plenty of couple cosplays in store.

He's a huge Tokusatsu fan so he's given me a few female Kamen Riders and Sentai characters to choose from. I want him to do a couple characters I like but I'll put those on the back burner since these will take a bit longer to plan.

Overall I'm excited though! Never really done couple cosplays with an actual significant other (to a convention that is) so it'll be a fun experience :D

This is kind of awkward to post, because my SO and I broke up a couple weeks ago. But we cosplayed together and I'm still proud of how it came out, so I'm posting anyway. We're still friends, so if I really wanted to I could probably convince him to cosplay with me again.

In his words, he wouldn't have cosplayed if I wasn't so into it. But I think he enjoys the attention, and now he shows off his Ravio costume to his Internet friends.

I do all the sewing. In the costume pictured here, the Ravio helmet was a joint effort. He did the foam base and fiberglass casting (as well as the resin rupee for the belt) and I did the fabric cover. He liked to help out with the more detail-based parts of the costume.

Only willing if he likes the character or it's easy/comfortable to wear.

Our first cosplay together was Polar Bear and Panda from Polar Bear Cafe. I think he wanted to cosplay since we were going to a big con, but I had to convince him to do something that showed his face.

>How far are they willing to go?
He hates having photos taken that will show his face (he's a good looking guy, just prefers not to have photos of him online?). Also, his head is abnormally large, so wigs just never work. He did let me spray paint his hair for a KK Slider cosplay once (I was Isabelle), but he gave me shit about it for months after that and never allowed it again.

I do all the sewing and make all the patterns for armor, plus do most of the finicky detail work. They paint, pin, cut fabric, other less technical things. Each of us pays for the material for our own costumes.

I don't push it. I only suggest things we both know and enjoy. He did theatre, so he's fine with makeup and things like that. The only thing he strongly dislikes is wearing wigs, but he knows it's almost always part of having a good costume.

I've done couples cosplay with two different SOs, actually. When I was with my disgusting ex, we were Big Boss and Kaz from MGS. We were practically broken up by that point so calling it couples cosplay is kind of a stretch but whatever.

I have a boyfriend now who's a major Persona fan so we're planning on doing Naoto and Adachi this year for Otakon. It's going to be great, we've put so much effort into our costumes and seeing him do excited really makes me happy.

Ah, I believe AsuShin duos are actually the most popular in my country? The least common combo is definitely Shinji and Rei. I'm fond of KawoShin myself and I'm happy I can cosplay them with the person I love, but in general I find that it's just great to see people with great chemistry cosplaying together, whether it's lovers or friends! Sorry for the selfie but I don't have any good hallway shots on hand. We cosplayed Rikka and Yuuta at what was his first con and also first cosplay. We also did Sora and Shiro over the weekend which isn't really couple cosplay because they're siblings...ha. It was a lot of fun, he was reluctant at first but wants to rewear them as well as do a cosplay on his own now. Some times. It is hard to say, as he won't complain even if he is dying from pain/heat, which frustrates me to no end! But he does ask to wear/make specific costumes so he likes it well enough then, I suppose!

He's worn furs, leathers and cloaks in the middle of the Texas summer as well as prosthetic and facepaints.
Even spandex didn't phase him.

He does dislike eye makeup though, not that we've really done much or any of that.
I have to take his comfort levels under serious consideration when choosing projects and watch him closely as he'd perish before asking to take off a costume.

Usually these threads dont do very well, typically getting filled with the same Sailor Moon cosplays that one person always spreads around like the plague.
