What would work best for a Ryuuko crossplay?

An important part of Ryuuko's/Senketsu's design is the color blocking, specifically how they're never a solid color.
At first I thought just a leather jacket and jeans would work, but that could only really work for jacket Ryuuko.

What I'm thinking is
-White short sleeve button up, probably a dress shirt/legit tuxedo shirt
-black suspenders
-Black dress pants
-white bigass sneakers like Ryuuko wears
-black track jacket with matching red stripes (stripes'll be done by hand if I can't find anything)
-Red tie
-hand sewn Femketsu eye onto the small end of the tie flared outward from the collar when tied up

I'm also going to mirror the appearance with a bloody knuckle, Femketsu's eye, and hair streak on the right side.

Honestly, wouldn't just doing real hair curls look a lot better for a Nui cosplay?
I remember seeing this one cosplay with a wig just styled with curled twintails and it was easily recognizable as Nui.

I mean, as huge and unrealistic as her hair is, it still looks like hair in the scenes it's shown in.
Not like these giant cement construct monstrosities that these girls are clamping to their skulls.
It's clearly shown to behave as if that's just how she styles her natural hair, with it falling and flowing with wind and gravity and such.

I don't know, maybe it's just me but I feel like some liberties can be taken with cosplaying since characters are designed to exist on a screen, not in real life.

Yeah, it's kind of obvious when people from outside of /cgl/ come in to threads like this. These are some fairly tame comments compared to how bad shit usually gets ripped apart, especially when the person in question has any sort of internet fame (bought or not.)

I mean for crap's sake the trim on the boot covers looks like red duct tape in that picture. Senketsu looks flatter in this real life rendition than he does in the 2D cartoon, and there isn't even much significant progress in the third pic other than loosely fitted, cheap looking material and "yay boobs."

I don't know who this person is, but this isn't anything to write home about, or really show off other than to friends and stuff, but whatever. You can tell if you look at the back of it, the stripes are misaligned at a few points because I messed up when cutting out the pattern. I also made the cut in the back without thinking, which I sort of have fixed up now.
I'd like to go back and replace the misaligned pieces of the pattern at some point.

Regardless, while I do really like her Senketsu portion, looking closely, it's all scratched/banged up and uneven. The outfit itself is nice material, but it's ill-fitting as you can see especially on the arms, boob area, and straps.Her face isn't young or close to suiting Ryuko.

I think it also has to do with how many followers someone has, for instance I've seen some incredible cosplays in the tags that get looked over because the person doesn't have many followers, while this kid I know who constantly brags about his 5k will often get thousands of notes on his shitty webcam selfies of cheap store bought costumes because "OH EM GEE HES SO HAWT!!!!!1!!!111!!!"

Nui wigs have to be huge but they can't be stiff or use drill forms. Ragyo wigs have to light up but still look like hair. Okay, I seriously feel like the only one who doesn't really like the heart patch on Nonon's final form.
Something about it just really throws off the color balance and blocking of the entire design.
Maybe if the inner thighs were also covered and sort of tied into it it'd look better, or if she had some sort of hip flares like Ryuuko's skirt.
As it stands, the way it looks feels weird to me
