I think hats in general, hair bands and smaller bows are all good and frequently appear in otome-kei.

I think you should just go for it anon, the only items that look odd imho are the really big bows or very lacy items more associated with ott lolita.

Ah i still haven't found many co-ords with this etc teaspoon print release and the ones i did find were pretty basic. The only western lolita I've seen with it is that girl that wears the massive glasses with everything.

It really depends on the print, some are very sought after and are still quite expensive but the less well known ETC prints and more plain items don't go for that much on the whole.

Offbrand-wise Sometimes you can find appropriate knitwear in H&M and UK high street chain New Look (they ship overseas). Occasionally items from brand 'Yumi' are very Jane Marple/ETC-like but the quality is not consistent and many things are over priced - I would recommend looking for Yumi second hand on ebay.

British brand Cath Kidston often has otome-like stuff too but again, it's kinda overpriced for the quality and certain prints are very sought after.

Lady V London is also worth checking out but it's more retro than otome for the most part.

I've never bought from JM before, and am planing on getting pic related in brown, for my birthday mid next month.
How long does JM stock usually last? Will this bag still be available next month?
I usually use ChibiTenshi's service, but it has been a little more expensive recently, is there a better SS to use?

My favourite stores for otome on taobao are probably:

dearli - more mori but some items can work for otome

love pinky - really cute accessories great for mori, certain otome and more natural type looks.

The closest store to a brand more akin to Jane Marple or ETC I know of is 'miss-point' but even then, I've never really found anything that quite captures the feel of the likes of JM, etc and axes femme. I'd actually be really interested to know of taobao stores that are more like this.

Axes femme by the way is a relatively affordable Japanese brand and is roughly mid-price high-street sorta price.

Sometimes I've bought items that don't even label in the listing themselves as Axes Femme but they are on the tag. Blouses can be missing brooches, but sometimes they have that extra sewn in button on the tag. I do legitimately own Axes Femme clothes from the online store and I can honestly say from what I've ordered on taobao that it's the same. I think they might buy it in bulk from the regular sales or something? Usually I see last season's clothes on taobao that's cheaper than going through yjapan and mbok.
