agreed. Granted, your costume will look best on you if it flatters your figure (or is true to the character, which usually goes hand-in-hand with the first bit). And yes, as many fear, you may be snapped and posted online. But are random girls gonna come up to you and sing "Ring Around the Rosie-O'Donnell" with tinkling mirth? Probably not. Just avoid online activity with a lot of criticism, if you're sensitive to it. Be a bombshell and have fun. As they say, ignorance is bliss.

I have no idea, because apparently the girl that is more accurate is a fail because her boobs aren't big enough. I think as long as you are having fun with it, it doesn't matter, but if you are a bigger person, cosplay a person that is dressed more modestly dressed. No one wants to see 300lbs of chewed bubble gum in a thong.

this. the fail girl's shirt, shorts and hair are way too long for the anime, and since the shirt and shorts are almost underwear level in the manga too, she's way less accurate than the other one.

i'm fine with people complaining about bikini versions of regular outfits, but when the regular outfit is already sexy, you can't blame people for doing it accurately

also while i agree the neckline is too low for anime misty (but you'll notice that's also the case with fail misty), the tank top has always been stretchy from what i can tell

tl;dr as far as mediocre cosplay go, i still think win girl did a better job than fail girl

We're dressing up as cartoon characters, I don't think any of us have any room to act elitist. Still, that being said, imo, weight doesn't matter as much as the quality of your costume.
(Of course, the harsh reality is that if you're thin and pretty, you'll resemble the character more, get more hype, etc.)

tl; dr, anyone can cosplay, not everyone can look good, and weight is only a factor in it.

i think this happens with a lot of senshi cosplayers because unless you have a nice set of hips, the high waist hiproll/skirt makes shorter girls look frumpy.
