Good ideas for fandom prints?

I want a Keeping Up Appearances print with a row of flowers: roses in a slinky curvy vase, daisies in a short round thrift-store-floral vase, violets in a regal vase, and hyacinths in a metal bucket.

Yeah, keep telling yourself this weirdly cut mediocre-quality dress from a chinese costume shop with an edgy "geek"-print will look good on anybody. I cannot wait for all the "Dr. Who Lolita cosplayers soo kawaii and speciuhl!! ^^"-coords I am about to see on tumblr/cgl.

Even brand cosplay desings/animu inspired dresses usually look terrible, there is no way this F+F-dress is an exception.

Urgh Fanplufriend always make stuff that's always slightly "off" I quite like the shape if the "time traveler" jsk but that nasty fabric with the cheesy Dr Who print is gross.

Why is the tardis in the other colorway red? I mean fine you want to make a telephone box print go for it but its just a red tardis..

Though it would look better without the tardis - just be like a starry cityscape print.

What about the Princess Jellyfish dress? I would like it more if it had less ribbons.

I am also getting it, but as a birthday present so I don't feel awkward getting some fandom lolita in my wardrobe. I am only planning on wearing it to cons anyways, so eh.

This print is a guilty pleasure print, though. Hate every other fandom lolita stuff I have seen.

I saw someone suggest an Utena print in another thread, I feel like that has so much potential. Especially with the silhouette type of art and the rose motif, I bet someone could come up with something lovely.

Thoughts on the Innocent World x Rozen Maiden collaboration? I've seen /cgl/ get extremely rustled at the mere implication that Rozen Maiden outfits are very close to lolita in the past, but I'd like to see opinions on the outfits done as well as they'll likely ever be done.

That's such a cute Mami & Charlotte.

I don't like the idea of fandom prints but sometimes I do see fan art (like pic related) that actually looks cute. They're not trying to force a design like Ryuko's uniform into being lolita like >>7660152 - more like putting characters into outfits they would actually wear that are relevant thematically.

I think the colors in KLK are just too bold to work. In fact that's the problem with most fandom coords IMO, they're forced to use colors that you would never want to use in lolita otherwise, along with weird themes that don't fit the aesthetic at all.
>>7660196 works because it's the right color palette. If they did the other senshi they would probably stick to toned down color combos rather than what they actually are i.e. light green and soft pink for Jupiter, peach and pale yellow for Venus, red and lavender or maybe just red for Mars.

>> No.7660241

>>7660042
I'm pretty sure it actually is the tardis/police box but in red so it resembles a British phone box, which is why it makes no sense. If you look carefully, the red version still says 'police box' on it, they have never been red where as phone boxes traditionally are.

I want a series of subtle Star Wars planet border prints: a quaint treehouse village for Endor, a modern-ish cityscape print much like the one some indie brand put out a while ago for Coruscant (baroquepetrock?), elegant snowy peaks with a fur collar like pic related for Hoth, etc. No major Star Wars details but each piece would have a tiny spaceship somewhere, maybe as buttons for waist ties or a charm on a strand of pearls.

I agree, I do not like fandom x Lolita. I cosplay a Lolita character and it's a cosplay, never a coordinate or fit for a fashion meet, tea, Lolita outing etc.

Most people don't like Lolita fashion referred to as a costume but these kind of prints make it seem more costume or cosplay than fashion.

7667940

I'd kinda like to see one of the brands do a collab with Yoshitaka Amano. Maybe like a Vampire D x Alice and the Pirates (If I had to pick a specific work), but it could be anything. Just a print with his paintings would be gorgeous.

The issue I have with fandom prints is that the fans that do them are only sorta into lolita, or flat out itas, and don't understand the style well enough to make it work. Or they shoehorn stuff like Marvel and Attack on Titan without thought put into how it will translate to the lolita style. They treat it like a costume, but really, you should think of it more like a "themed" coord.
