Of course I talk to people, but via email/text/skype I can instantly let them know if something changed or correct what I said.

Imagine getting a letter from a penpal saying that they are going to fly out to meet you, but then something changed on the day before the flight. Or even 2 days before the flight.

By the time you got the next letter to learn what happened, how much time had just passed?

Reasonably they'd call you, though, I guess... but if they have your phone number, why not just text except in the case when they want to send you something?

There's something nice about waking over to the mailbox and seeing a handwritten letter with your name on it.
I used to almost get teary eyes when I got mail overseas. Sure I could call them them, but there's something about a letter. Like the person took time out of their busy day to write you something.
Sure things get lost sometimes, but having that letter make that journey to someone else is nice. Heartwarming almost.
Then again I could be a faggot and you an autistic fuck.
