/cgl/ I spent a ton of money on a foam armor commission and it turned out awful. It's so huge, and it doesn't even remotely fit.

It's a long story why, but believe me when I say that a refund is not an option. Do you think this is something I could take to a costume designer for fixing? Should I sell it to someone bigger than me? I mean, they'd have to be close to 6 feet and weight quite a bit more.

I don't know what to do with this thing.

I don't know where you're from OP, but in my country's cosplay comm we've got lots of feedback groups and albuns, with pics and details.
If you happen to have a feedback group, you should post pics of the product and pics of the deal you made with the cosmaker (including price, dates and measures).

There is nothing that can be solved without photo proof, especially since the commissioner apparently blocked all communication avenues with you (seriously how does this even happen, are people that immature?)

The way you've phrased it, it sounds like they maliciously did a bad job, took your money, and ran. That's pretty serious and awareness should be raised if they do work for others.

Being unclear on the issue makes us wonder if you're not being 100% honest about the situation and hiding your own shortcomings, which is often the case in these disagreements. However, we are used to our fair share of scammers, and seriously, you HAVE to be blunt and provide proof of everything and publicise it if you want to get anywhere, even if it's just finding someone else to fix the costume.

For one, you could already post pictures of it unworn so we can have a look at the quality. Might be the case that it's not even fixable after you put it on (from the paint job, way materials were used, etc.)

I always want to sympathise with these stories but it's difficult when the plaintiff tiptoes around getting help.

1200 would be what I would consider... excessive for a mass effect style armor commission, I guess there is a lot of labor involved but making my own armor I wouldn't be comfortable paying that amount. Especially considering it looks barely functional.
