[ERROR] No.7642357[DELETED]  [Reply] [Original]

How did everyone do?

And in case you didn't already know AP put out another jewelry set on the japanese webshop.
I also heard that they're making more headbands.

>> No.7642386

The SF release was a joke, and like everyone else I got a bunch of checkout errors which resulted in me losing the navy tiered.

Looks like I saved myself some trouble though, if everyone got timeout errors.

Saw on tumblr that someone was confused that AP only sent her a skirt out of three items. Not sure if I want to send her an explanation/help because her post is a few days old and she's probably figured things out already.

My own Mypage shows that my preorder was split up into two with the headbows in an order by themselves and the dresses in another. I guess with the production delay for the headbows that means they will ship seperately from the dresses. The accessories I bought at the release date has already been shipped, as well as an extra jsk. I'm guessing that the pre-order actually is a preorder, AP may have received the max number of orders for the Navy jsk, so that colour might be the slowest to ship out while they produce more (I think). If you bought stuff off the release date then you would get your items sooner, as it seems to be ready stock. I'm guessing again that the skirt wasn't very popular, so even if you bought one from the preorder AP might ship you one from the ready stock anyway.

At the moment I'm sitting on the fence about this crystal pegasus. It ties in nicely with the theme, but it's 5292yen for that before ss and shipping, and the shape looks a bit clunky. Anyone want to weigh in with their opinions?

>> No.7642550

>>7642502
Depending on the color you bought, it might fade into the background. I can see it looking nice with the lavender or pink since they don't contrast as much with the print, but on the high contrast navy and blue it might not stand out as much since the print already provides high contrast so the eye is drawn to that area. I hope that makes sense. It also probably wont work with the tiered JSK because there's already so much gold front detailing. I think it's really cute, though. Feel free to disregard my advice.

That's really useful, I hadn't considered the way it would look against the dress. Do you think one of the other colours would work better against the Navy? I just went with gold originally because I thought it would match the gold detailing on the dress.

>>7642587

The quality is a fair bit higher than most costume jewellery to begin with, so it's not going to wear off in the first year. It does eventually tarnish if you handle it a lot, which means if you only touch the clasp and leave the rest of the jewellery alone, then you only need to replace the clasp every now and again.

The other method I heard was to coat the jewellery in some varnish to seal the colours in. I don't know if that works or not though, haven't had to try that.

I'm sorry but no. It's clear you've never handled quality costume jewelry before...

It's cheap junk like most fast fashion stuff you'd get at F21 etc. The designs are original, yes, but the quality isn't going to be much better than their metal and veneered pieces.

I need to start learning to schedule myself around this shit, because I am the best manager ever.
Now I am going back and forth between thinking this is tacky or the best thing ever... I need something to wear to ruffle con and thought the skirt would be perfect but I am not in love with the blue or the other colors...I had the fucking perfect shoes for navy too.
Then again I own too many navy dresses.

I have F21 jewellery, as well as other costume jewellery from other stores. There's a couple that I never wore, and they just tarnish by themselves. They hang in the same display as the rest of my jewellery, too, including AP jewellery, so it's not the storage conditions that cause it.

2 out of the 10 necklaces auto-tarnishing isn't too bad, and the rest tarnishing due to frequent wear is understandable. But on the other hand, I have heaps of AP stuff, and only the clasp on the bracelet that I wear the most often has tarnished. The rest stayed pristine.

If you really wanted to talk about expensive but not-really-high quality costume jewellery, I'd say those Vivienne Westwood armor rings don't quite seem worth their price tags, they feel a bit flimsy and aren't even made of metal.

The pink was straight up ugly.
The lavender was OKAY but kind of washed out and certainly not the best unless you're a fan of the color.
And the blue is pretty meh and certainly not as elegant looking as the navy.

AP is idiotic for picking the colors that they did. Fools.

Also

The dress itself is full of curves though

- curve of the bonnet
- round edges on reverse scalloping on the chest
- ditto the bottom of the bodice
- curved overskirt
- upper layer of the tiered skirt cut as scallops
- shoulder chiffon pieces cut as circles
- drape of the chain
- scallops on the lace's edges

As for the print, the ponies themselves are very organic and flowy (with soft, rounded manes).

Well, personally I think the roses only go well with pink and lavender because they're more feminine colours, and anyhow blue/navy roses always looked a bit weird to me. I'd have to disagree that the print itself strictly forbids coordinating with flowers though.

The reverse scalloping on the bottom of the bodice is where the two lines of ruching start, which in turn are joined by a large curve across the ribbon, thereby making a circle (sort of).

If you're really going to say the reverse scalloping looks sharper and therefore adding roses as a counterpoint to soften it is out of the question, then I would say a large circle formed by the reverse scalloping, the ruching and the line of lace is a sign that you can coord round things with the dress, including roses.

Sorry for sideways on that, I'm doing this from my phone as I go.

Here's the arm detailing withy the bow and patterning on the sleeve. I couldn't get a good shot of the arm lace with the shoulder star, but I can throw that in if anyone is interested

I can give you detailed shots of the pink tiered JSK, I got it today and don't have a co-ord together yet.

Also, about the tier that goes around the waist...i can't help but think that there was a mistake on mine because the elastic's white part faces out while the darker side of pink faces in...
Is this how it's supposed to be or what mine made wrong...?

They had English-literate staff before the shop's changeover. I've contacted their old Japanese site, service staff replied in pretty good English.

I'm still sure they have someone who speaks English on hand, someone has to translate their website, it's too coherent to be googlesplooge

As a last resort, you can buy some organdy ribbon in a matching pink and carefully handsew it over the white part. I'd try contacting the shop first though.

By the way, can I request a pic, or an explanation of the shoulder pieces? In >>7656441 it seems to have fallen down in front of her dress, so I wonder if there's anything keeping them on the shoulders.

Your dress is gorgeous. I got pink as well, very excited to get mine after seeing photos of yours!

Thank you for that. I'll try emailing them.

As for the shoulders, the tule is attached to a long strap and it curls around the JSK shoulder strap and secures with a button.
Pic-related, it's not as clear as the other pictures. This one was taken with my phone.

>> No.7669060

Ah, so then there's nothing to stop the shoulder chiffon from sliding up and down the shoulder strap, I guess? I'll have to see about making a thread bar or something to keep the shoulder strap in place.

Thanks! Hope AP helps you out with the inside-out overskirt.

super cute. personally not digging the bodice or the tiered part because I think the extra gathering of the tiered part makes the ponies look weird, but the color and the chiffon details are adorable. glad I got the regular jsk in this color now.

>> No.7676868

I just went through the stock photos on the site and realised that AP never shows the back part of the overskirt.

Is it possible that the white elastic should correctly be on the outside?
