I have the akujin ones, the shape is great, but the colour is shit. At least on me, its SUPER dark, and its probably because he makes the lenses so thick, also i accidentally scratched myself on the outer points on the glasses, so that's something you should look out for.

I also have the latula glasses and i think there's going to be the same issue with colour.

I think the framed ones give a more realistic feel, but i want a more dramatic shape and more close to canon.
I think pic related looks pretty okay with the framed ones (if they're even the right glasses). But when it comes down it, whatever looks good and is canon thats all that really matters.

It's messy and crunchy-looking like a bad Grand Highblood wig but even worse because there's no sane reason to interpret Fef as having gnarly hippie dreads. A Feferi wig with nice dreads might be acceptable (like if the hair sat in the dreads neatly like black girl hair) but it still seems weird and tryhard-speshul.

I really disagree with most of that. The fly gapping is probably just an angle issue.
The crown indeed looks a bit wonky, but it's the weak spot of an overall fantastically made outfit, rather than a terrible dealbreaker. The grey paint looks fine, the airbrushed kinds a lot of BNF use will by necessity be slightly translucent on the fingers, it's a nitpick.

I've never been crazy about trying to brush on gloss. Modge Podge gets too streaky if you're not careful with brushwork. Golden's gel gloss can work, but it's a bit tedious too, even the self leveling kind. The best bet, IMO, if you're careful about drips and spray evenly in multiple light coats, Krylon's gloss seal work well.

I'll be damned if I can find it now, but there was an excellent Militarystuck design set a while ago that was actually accurately set up. The low bloods were in camo and combat gear, and they became more elite as you went up. Aradia had the fatigues of a tank driver, I think, and Tavros was a paratrooper. The only tailored military uniforms were the high bloods. Eridan was a naval officer, Terezi with the Air Force I think? Gamzee was some crazyass guerrilla bomber. Feferi was the only one that didn't mesh for me, she was some kind of spy assassin in a catsuit.

For gradients the best method I found was a sponge dry brush method. I usually use dry brushing for all the horns I do and you can make some nice gradients.

The sponge dry brushing gives a smoother horn a little more texture.

Basically you just dab some paint on the sponge/brush, dab it against cardboard or paper towels [something that sucks up the moisture of paint] then do quick little scratchy strokes of paint on the horn. I tend to put the middle orange down first, let that dry completely then dry apply the darker orange-red and yellow parts.

Aradiasprite doesn't have the most complex design ever, there's kind of a limit to what you can do with her. this person went the extra mile w frog fingers, a peter pan-collared ghosty-shape dress, the sculpted ears etc.

But maybe another interesting direction would be incorporating the long sprite tail, either as a train or as an actual tail, like some of the Fefetas and Jadesprites have done. I haven't seen anyone do that with her yet.
