I'm 5ft10 and I'm in love with a Cosmic series from AP, but I'm afraid these gonna be too short even with underskirts. Should I even bother? I want a jsk, but not sure between sailor and the other one.
Also I'm quite busty ~38inch

>> No.7576894

>>7576881

I'm 163cm, bust 95cm and shoulder width 37cm. I've tried a few of AP's A-line dresses and they always end badly, so I'm avoiding this onepiece and sailor jsk as well.

I do think you have a chance with the other jsk, the bust portion sags on the mannequin the way dream sky never did (dream sky being almost the same cut), so I think AP made the top of the other jsk a bit larger to accomodate bigger busts. It's not a 100% sure chance, but I think it's definitely a better chance than the sailor jsk or the op.

>> No.7576920

>>7576900

Oh right, I forgot that part. AP's 82cm dresses end mid-thigh on me. The easiest way to deal with that is to wear cute shorts so it looks like you're wearing a tunic-dress, but the coordinate might become unlolita at that point. (You could try this with jeans too, but the skirt has a lot of flare in it, so I think cute shorts and thigh highs are a cuter silhoutte.)

I figured if I ever found a short AP dress I like enough, I could make or commission an underdress, just a plain high-waisted jsk with a long enough skirt in a coordinating colour, to wear underneath, but I never did find an AP high-waisted dress that I liked and fitted well.

If I wear a regular underskirt at my waist, the section between my underbust and my waist looks weird as the underskirt poof doesn't start the same place as the outer skirt. One of my friends suggested that maybe I could wear one of my longer petticoats/underskirts tucked under my bra (to keep the petticoat/underskirt up) so there's no gap in the poof, I never got around to trying it though.

Goldsmith here, to me looks like the plating worn out.

To make sure, gently rub with a soft jewelry cleaning cloth or a baby toothbrush and some toothpaste. If the stain doesn't go, take it to your local jeweller to ask if they can plate it again.

There are some heat-and-dip plating solutions, but i don't recomend using them at home due toxic fumes and all that stuff.

He's a child, as far as Asians goes, he has a very plain face. Nothing special, wears head to toe AP from the same series. Not really creative, not really cute. Just an okay, plain lolita.

IMO, he only gets any attention for being a thin, petite brolita (since a vast majority of them are too big for the clothes). I do not think he resembles a girl, and if I met him on the streets, I would think he was a very plain, sort of below average looking girl if I did think he was a girl.

Was this on egl comm sales? Because you can remove feedback for someone there. I done it after a seller did the exact same shit to me. Bitch kept stringing me along, promising it'd be left on this date, saying she's super busy and all that shit.

I had left her positive, and they removed it for me. I PM'd the eglfb account. Here's my PM:

Hi there,

I posted a question about removing feedback I had left for someone, in accordance with Rule 10. I just wanted clarification on whether positive feedback could be removed. secret_rosegard has informed me that this is okay, and to PM this account for the request.

The feedback I would like to remove is one I left for the user [redacted], linked here: [redacted]

I do not wish to alter the feedback, but to simply have it removed.

Thank you

I just grabbed a Gathered Chiffon in offwhite and I really want to message Cloudberry Lady to try and get my hands on pic related hat to wear with it. But now Marie has worn this hat with her Gathered Chiffon and I'm not sure if it would be okay for me to basically copy a part of her coord, especially because I'll be wearing it when visiting Paris. Obviously I'd wear a different blouse, tights, shoes, bag, jewelry, parasol etc with it, but still.

>> No.7579710

>>7579648

Personally I don't think the outfit was particularly groundbreaking, the hat is quite lovely, so it's not hard to imagine two girls out there have the same hat and the same dress, and putting them together. So long as you're not copying her other outfits, it's not really a big deal, your style will show through in other ways.

But since you're worried about it -- what are you doing in Paris, what else can you wear with the hat, and how badly do you want it?

Paris activity -- if you're doing a lolita meetup, you might feel more comfortable wearing something you feel isn't copying someone else, if you feel like you're being judged (even if it's all in your head) then you will not have a good time. On the other hand, if you're just sightseeing and maybe visiting the brand store, then you might feel more confident that no one is going to recognise some other girl did your hat + jsk outfit first.

Wardrobe -- if you have a lot of things that would be perfect with this hat, go for it. If you are buying just this hat for the dress, maybe expand your search a little, there are a lot of headwear in white or offwhite that would look equally good with that dress without needing to worry about whether other lolitas are mentally comparing you to someone else.

And lastly -- if you really love the hat, just get it. Some other girl having worn it first doesn't really change that the hat is lovely, so it shouldn't stand in the way of your getting the hat.

I don't know how I feel about it. On one hand it feels like an elaborate story to get sympathy notes, because yeah, cops can be dicks, but they cannot detain you without suspicion of a crime being committed/law being violated ('unwanted attention' is not a law or crime) so if this actually happened this officer was really going out on a limb to harass them, considering they could have complained about it. And what lolitas don't have a phone out to take pictures or video of something like this for proof while the cop car was 'following them' ? If it happened, ok, weird, someone needs to tell them how to deal with cops trying to stop them on a sidewalk. ('am I being detained?' 'no? Ok, goodbye')

They aren't, and unlike anon above, I don't agree that you always need to wear legwear; around 6-10 years ago VM put up model photos of one of its sundresses (not jsks, they were actually labeled dresses) where the model had bare legs and sandals.

However, the proportions can be really hard to deal with, if you have things in your hair and your dress has a gazillion ruffles and your sandals also have pleather lace on them, the bare legs look really weird and out of place.
Additionally, since lolita is such a polished look, you really need to have nice legs to pull it off -- silky smooth, even-toned legs, make sure your nails don't look gross and your toe nail polish is coordinated with your dress and sandals.

It's just easier to throw on some legwear and covered shoes.

I'm a larger woman, which I have no problem denying. I know that this poses a challenge when it comes to fitting into brand, which is also fine. But I can't stop wondering, how do some bigger girls (who are bigger than myself) fit into dresses that don't have full shirring and aren't replicas? Are they working some kind of seamstress magic that I'm not aware of? Does anyone know their secrets?

>> No.7586355

Lots of cramming, being uncomfortable, and looking like shit.

You have to know your limits and what looks good on you, and I guaruntee 90% of those girls look terrible. Otherwise, they may be shaped differently, with their fat distributed in a way that allows them to squish in without looking like garbage (pear-shaped, the small chest and waist fit in the brand, and the huge ass doesn't matter because of the puffy skirts)

This is very true, but most of them (that I've seen fit themselves into brand) end up looking decent to well put together. You're right about the body type, but I'm talking about these girls being sometimes two sizes larger than me. I've began to wonder if they really are just replicas, and they're being lied about. I'm not sure.

>> No.7586370

Those shoes aren't even classic, they're bargain-bin lolita at best and really won't suit PC's chocolate dress for any amount of time. I'd put them in the rubbish and find some mary janes on ebay or something that don't look like tacky officewear.

>> No.7586381

>>7586370
Problem: Already looked through ebay and there aren't any shoes in the right color in my size, that I'm willing to pay for to use temporarily, and none that I'd like to just have otherwise. I have a pair of brown mary-janes already, but they're the complete wrong shade of brown for this dress. It'd be sort of silly to buy another pair. I was just hoping these guys would work for now, if not I'll just suck it up and wait for a new pair to come in.

Nor at any sort of stores near me that don't just look like those anyway.

Then photoshop, or your eye just isn't developed enough to pick out the things that are off about them (I know before I became a regualr seagull I used to think all girls were "omg rorita magical princessu flawless!!!", but seeing critiques here has really sharpened my view of the aesthetic.)
I won't say that there isn't the RARE case of a big girl smooshing into a dress and managing to gide it, but by and larger, nope nope nope people gotta accept the weight that they are and dress for that.

>> No.7586397

>>7586382
That's true! I suppose I may have unintentionally lowered my standards to accommodate understanding like, "she looks really nice, for a big girl." Which is wrong of me to do, especially as a bigger girl myself. But it's like, when you're starving for seeing body types even looking like yours, bread crumbs will seem like a Parisian five course dining experience, good or bad. Of course there are things off, and I've even wondered if some girls tailor the dress out (which in the bust area, would leave the back looking really hideous, especially with a print dress) because a lot of the girls wear boleros, cardigans, or other means of hiding the backs of dresses. That's my assumption, of course.

>> No.7586430

>>7586397
Yeah, I imagine the biggest cheat for big girls/big busted girls is the open back, unzippered trick - even I'm guilty of it
>95 cm bust
>love old AP OPs with no shirring
>would just wear a heavy cardigan/bolero/jacket over them with the zipper undone in the back
>everyone asks how i fit my boobs into 85 cm busts
I've learned since then that it doesn't actually look as good as you think it does. Tailoring happens very rarely, but when it does I notice people tend not to mention it unless they're selling.

>> No.7586445

>>7586430
Don't worry, I'm guilty of the "unzip and trick" scheme, as well in some of my favorite dresses in my normal wardrobe that I've grown a little too big for (but like, I'm not going to just stop wearing some of my expensive dresses, and there's nothing a cardigan or even a thick peignoir can't cover with some luck, and fashion tape makes for great deep-v backs on dresses.) So, I suppose the secret at the end of the day is lying in one way or another. How cruel, getting my hopes up thinking that there is a magical trick for the big bust and back fat.
