Thoughts on gender-swapped cosplay interpretations? I've seen a lot of female cosplayers do versions of male characters but in my experience I haven't experienced much of the opposite outside of being outright traps.

I've kind of played around with the idea of doing a swapped cosplay of pic related, seems like it'd be (relatively) simple to do and I have a few ideas on what to adjust, but I'm never really sure how people would respond to that sort of stuff, especially for such a well-known character.

Alternatively, post opposite-gender cosplay pics or something

Depends.
If it's good.
Don't go wearing a skirt and calling yourself Fem!Luffy.
Needs more things to it.

Personally, I hate it, but do your thing. It almost never turns out looking good unless it's in a group. There are so many amazing cosplay ideas from a person's actual gender they identify with, why in the world do they feel the need to genderswap?

Okay...you have literally written this post in at least 3 different threads. Do what you want to do. It will probably look stupid but that's your call.

Honestly, I think that it can look good if the cosplayer aims for accuracy. If you have to think about what character it is, then it sucks. If you do something totally out of character, like pulling a Jessica Nigiri, then it sucks.

I think this version of Bilbo is really cute.

I saw a really good fem!Bilbo off this design at Katsucon.
It really all comes down to a) execution b) tastefulness. Put work into it (the little details are what makes it recognizable), and don't be trashy
