I'm so glad twin tails wig are dying out, they looked good maybe 1% of the time and even then only in outrageous OTT sweet coords. I think it's the ridiculous volume, the hair just completely consumes the person.

More understated wigs are fine, but damn does it annoy me when girls treat them as legitimate everyday wear (especially when they're like pastel rhapsody or something similar) or a lolita coord staple.

The thing is, most people can tell when hair is dyed. Unnaturally colored wigs like we're talking about don't come in colors that could concievably happen and look good on real hair. The amount of bleach it'd take to get your hair white and then dye it pastel colors would fry it, leaving no room for the fucking giant styles that they usually come in. Wigs like that are always obviously fake.

You can maybe convince someone with red, or even a darker blue or purple, but nobody is ever going to believe that you have pastel green hair and it still looks that healthy and not dull and frizzy.

See, I wouldn't consider those pastel enough to look disgusting. Pale, desaturated shapes like Sugary Carnival, Milky Planet, etc look really bad on black. There's distinct color in that design so it's not nearly as jarring against a dark background.

ay yo, different anon here. I've been doing hair for about 5 years now, and it doesn't take much bleach to get your hair really light. Plus it depends on what kind of lift you use. But bleaching your hair will not fry it automatically. It's only if you leave it on too long, or do it too much. Also if you just don't take care of your hair.
And most coloured dyes are vegan based, and do 0 damage to hair.
So despite popular belief, bleaching and dying your hair will not fry it as long as you actually know what you're doing.

Lots of reasons. Maybe your hair doesn't hold style very well, maybe you want a different color, maybe you want a different wig.

My natural hair is very thin and doesn't hold curls well, so unless I'm doing a braided style, a wig will pretty much always look better with Lolita for me. Also, I can wear a variety of hair colors that compliment various dresses (my natural hair is red, which doesn't match some coordinates) with wigs.

Also, wigs are way easier than styling your hair. It takes five minutes to comb out a wig, braid your hair, and stuff it in a wig cap.

Actually, I never heat style my hair. Or use heat on it in general. I wash it in cold water, and towel dry it. It's naturally straight.

I'm not mad at all, actually, it's usually just really obvious when hair is a wig. I have a friend who went through cosmotology, always treats her hair right, and it was still fried because she has dark hair and tried to go platinum ass blonde.

If you have light hair it's easy to get that light color, but a majority of the world does not have light hair.

Pink or green or whatever wigs will just never look like real hair.

See, here's the thing. I never see that. Sweet lolitas for the most part seem to enjoy classic, and most dabble in it themselves. They have nothing bad to say about it for the most part, while on the other hand..... I can't count the number of times I've seen classic enthusiasts raging over how they are the "most authentic lolitas", "sweet is ageplay and gives their superior classic a bad name, they are mature and classy(and secretly wanking on everyone behind their backs), holier than thou, yadda yadda yadda. I've sent it going on for years now,I swear.
