one time after my work shift i was shopping around the store i worked at and found a pack of old school pokémon stickers. i figured that since they were so outdated they had to have been dropped by someone so i took them.

a few weeks later i was ringing someone up and they bought the same kind of stickers and they were in our registry and everything.

it was an honest mistake but even if it wasn't i wouldn't feel that bad anyways because i hated working there.

I never felt bad about stealing things. I only ever took things from big stores like walmart, though, so I guess that's why.

I'd never take anything from a small business or a person, but a big company I feel nothing about.

I don't lift anymore though, got caught and won't do it anymore. Luckily I didn't get arrested or anything, just a warning, probably because I started crying and I look like I'm 14.

Guess karma does not want me to be a thief, haha. I am not made to be a shoplifter. Only stealing I do is with my video game characters; all of them pickpocket/steal all the stuff, while I cannot even switch hair accessoires at Primark...

On the other hand:
>be me
>working at my father's restaurant as a waitress
>7€/hour, not allowed to keep tips
>shitsucks.jpeg
>start putting part of the tips in my own pocket when nobody is watching
>no regrets

Seriously, I would make more money as a cashier, and not being allowed to keep tips sucks (but please keep in mind we have a different tipping system here, not like in the USA, where a waitress literally depends on tips). It is not like the tip is getting split between employees, it goes all to my father, so I have no regrets. I make sure so keep in mind the amount of tips I recive, and take a small part no one would miss; usually adds up to 20€ if I am lucky.

Nothing bad, but I fucking hate the word fandom. All I can think of is annoying people being disgusting and loud and rude. I want to find other people who like the same thing, but I will never associate myself with a "fandom" because the people who do are generally obnoxious and terrible.
It may just be stupid and petty of me to think this way, but I can't help it. I equate the sound of the word to the sound of nails on a chalk board. Just get me away ASAP.

On topic, I have stolen all of my cosmetics and shit like that from a US outlet store that is notorious for bad security.

Then I stopped for about a year. Ironically, I was caught "shoplifting" when I accidentally forgot to pay for a thing of fruit at a grocery store. They let me go because who buys their groceries and forgets to pay for fruit. It was a good sign that I quit while I was ahead.

On /cgl/ I'm a huge bitch, doing stuff like being super picky about cosplay details, talking shit about other fans in series I like, etc. When I actually go to a con though, I'm (genuinely) super nice and I get really excited to see people cosplaying from things I love, even if their cosplay is bad. I even try to get pictures of low quality costumes just so the cosplayers get pictures taken of them and get complimented (which I always do when taking pictures), because I worry they won't otherwise. I have a weird system of stealing things at big department stores - mostly fabric and craft stores though.
When I go to cut my fabric, I base how much I'm going to steal on how good the customer service is/store policies are.
I often have a piece thats very close to the "remnant" measurement but any time the person cutting my fabric decides not to give me the discount, I steal the equivalent of what she made me pay.
In my area, the fabric stores are so big and the employees are so mean that it makes almost no difference and I'm never guilty.
It's also how I get most of my zippers for costumes.

I don't get this. Why? You may be all "not giving money to da corporations!!!" but you're only increasing unfair labor and sweatshop shit in foreign countries, or at least aren't decreasing it. Why can't you just ignore Walmart or whatever altogether and just buy honestly from smaller business, that's really the only way to get rid of the eeeeeevil corporations

And if you are THAT FUCKING POOR to steal technically unnecessary stuff from Walmart, just find some decent-condition clothes from a thrift store. That way you're not giving the big evil rich people money while still paying the thrift workers/giving disabled people jobs (at Goodwill) and not being a useless member of society.

I work in retail and people steal our shit all the time. I've only seen people get caught *once* in the two years I've worked there. We're not allowed to chase after them or touch them if they try to leave the store, so a bunch of people get off the hook by just screaming about how offended they are or claiming that we're RACIST and then running away.
all that happens, when we find dropped tags, is that we record it in our security log and it comes out of the company's overhead. i've never seen anyone get fired. tbh it's expected.

I had never been dehumanized as an employee so much before. Even when I was working in housekeeping my boss treated me like a person, but my bosses were asking for too much in too little time without giving me the proper tools to do my job (the first hour of any project was a scavenger hunt to find my supplies). There was never an acknowledgment for anything done correctly, and I got blamed for the shortcomings of a coworker of mine repeatedly.

I would be told the 'customer always comes first' but helping customers takes time away from getting work done - so if I ignored the customer I got yelled at for bad customer service, and if I helped the customer I got yelled at for lack of productivity. In that same line, I would be yelled at for skipping my breaks, and I would be yelled at for not working on something because I was on my break.

I was routinely required to work in parts of the store I had specifically stated I could not work in (allergies, anaphylactic shock) when I was hired and was assured would not be a problem.

Add on to that three department managers, none of them work the same days as eachother, and none of the agree what needs to be done or what projects are priority.

Hate hate hate.

Not from a con, but when I was a kid I wanted to see what stealing was like so when my mom was shopping at Eddie Bauer I went around taking the size stickers off of a bunch of things and putting them on my palm. I held my palm close to me and made sure no one was around to see, but the cashier called me out when my mom went to pay for her things and made me put all the stickers back.

Also on a slightly related note we had this independent video rental place that put their security devices in the "be kind, rewind" stickers (this was back when VHS tapes were still a thing). Because of this, they put them on everything from the video games to the popcorn. Shit got weirder when DVDs started making vhs tapes obsolete and half the store was DVDs with "be kind, rewind" stickers on them.

>One day we split up, half the crew goes to 7-11, half the crew goes to get pizza
>Everything normal until the cops suddenly burst into the pizzeria and surround our table
>"The 7-11 across the street is on lockdown and one of your friends is under arrest for shoplifting, the owner has identified your group as a gang and we need all of you to come with us"
>We follow them, not even really arguing the point that we're not actually a gang because it's NYC and who knows what the cops might do
>We arrive, one of the darker-skinned boys has been ~randomly selected~ for frisking, the two girls including the one NOT under arrest are crying hysterically while a cop yells in their faces to "shut the fuck up and save the crying for your mommies"
>The cops ask the owners how many more of us can they recognize as shoplifters from the footage, they say none of us even though the other shoplifting girl is with us (and scared shitless)
>They let us all go except the one girl they definitively caught doing it, we basically are forced to watch from outside as two grown male cops slam a 16 year old girl face-first into a glass window and cuff her for stealing two dollar candy from a multi-million dollar franchise store
>We find out after she was released that they confiscated her hoodie and sneakers, cuffed her to a bench in a freezing cold holding cell in just yoga pants, a tank top, and socks for 5 hours, with 3 grown men in the same cell catcalling at her, until a parent could come get her

Not saying she should have been stealing, but I thought the use of force and scare tactics (that made her feel like she was in real danger!) on a teenaged, first-time petty offender were fucking disgusting. That's been my only experience with shoplifting and I hope I never have another one.

Pretty much this, but I got caught once.

Never again.

I still feel sick to my stomach thinking about when it happened, because my then-17 boyfriend was with me, so they called his parents to come get him. It was the absolute worst. We didn't get to see each other for like 3 months afterwards.

He's the one who started me on shoplifting in the first place, though.

The first time we lifted together, we went to walmart, one really far away on the way home from a con, and stole $100+ in Magic The Gathering cards.

Same thing happened to a friend ! If I remember she was around 17 and is a white tiny regular girl. She was shopping for bras and a big one ended up in her bag (sometimes shops can be so tiny idk, that can happen), plus who would be stealing a bra way too big for them?
Anyway they called the police and left her in a cell for a while although it was very nonsensical, anyone with a bit of common sense could have seen it was an honest mistake. What's the point of scaring a teen when clearling she wasn't stealing ? Reserve that for kids who try to steal games gosh, not middle/upperclass teens.

Back on stealing I might have done it before a few times (a few rings in a market on holidays) or in Claire's when I was young, but to be fair they have crazy markups for stuff you can buy on ebay.
Now that I'm old enough to have my own money I don't feel the need to steal really cheap stuff and am not stupid/skilled enough to steal big things.

If I had loose enough morals that I didn't care about stealing like some of the Anons in this thread, I'd have no problem stealing from Funi.

Years ago when I used to buy my anime from FYE, I had several Funi DVDs that lasted about a year. The packaging was so hilariously flimsy. Like the plastic sheet that holds the cover in was practically saran wrap. The discs themselves started cracking and spreading in the middle after hardly any use (I played them in a PS2 slim).

I contacted Funi about this asking if I could send them in for replacements and the responses I got were "They're probably bootleg" and "take better care of your stuff."

normally if anyone is watching you they have to let their manager know before anything can be done, so there's a small grace period of a minute or two to get the fuck out.

For cons, I've been tempted to steal lanyards from this one booth. It's built so where there's not much attention in that area and it's somewhat hidden from the vendor. I've also wanted to steal little candies, and a surprise box of a pmmm figurine because I didn't want to pay for a character I didn't like. I was just about to take some tf2 pin off of his booth and walk away pissed but right as I was about to, he finally noticed me.

I never said anything about girls, I said the general userbase of this board and the content on it in terms of being to masturbate to it is boring. That is obviously what was meant by "in that context". It seems as though you interpreted that however you wanted to, and somehow twisted it into an attack on females.

I did jokingly refer to you and some others as "more autistic than me". Perhaps if you took that comment seriously, maybe you really are autistic?

>It shows that you probably have no social skills or appeal irl either

I have horrible social skills in real life. I have terrible anxiety problems, and would probably choke up talking to the girls here alone in real life simply because I would have cottonmouth and talk too fast from an adrenaline rush.

Good thing this isn't real life though. This is the internet. I can say whatever I want, and I do.

What I want is a girlfriend to live with together. She wouldn't care if I spent too much time on the computer, never wanted to go out on dates, drank too much alcohol sometimes, watched anime most people would find "creepy", and whatever else would be typically undesirable. We're in the same boat, anon. I fucking had that situation once, then it all went to shit. You give your all to another person because you want to, not because you expect something in return.

Real, healthy love is about wanting to make someone else's life better. That's why it's really rare to find someone to stay with, because they have to feel the same about you.

Giving someone "love" (or anything you do for them because of it) doesn't make them owe you a damn thing. If you think it does, you aren't loving correctly, or your actions do not match up with your expectations.

If you think that being a slovenly laze about a relationship with your own brand of "if I do this for you you have to stay with me" is how you are going to find that coveted relationship, think again.

The last thing you should be doing is blaming other people. Love is about who you are to others, not how others are to you.

I've never thought about it like that, but If that's how you want to put it sure.

My point is that there's seemingly no such thing as a girl that would tolerate my lifestyle, let alone share the same hobbies.

Last I checked a pet isn't someone you talk to though. What I want is being able to joke about something or talk about something sometimes, but also have enough boundaries to be left alone and not have to constantly entertain her because she has no hobbies and doesn't share any I have. I mean if she actually wanted to do some of the kind of stuff I like doing I wouldn't object, I might be embarrassed, but it doesn't even matter in the first place because this kind of girl doesn't exist. And, included in that "doing things that make you happy" is loving someone. Right there at the top, once you can truly do yourself the service of making yourself happy, you will find that showing love to someone is meant to be one of those things.

If you show love, it's ultimately because it makes YOU happy. There are a whole bunch of other side effects, but that's the main reason at it's core. That's why a lot of people can get caught up with people who aren't good for them, because the loving of that person makes them happy.

Also,
>But, see, that's where I'm different. Like a dog who's done something good, I want a treat because it's just normal to expect one after you've done something good. Give love and emotional support, get love and emotional support. Give a penny, get a penny.

That's a client/customer relationship. Not love. Not ever is it love. However, many people get into relationships like that because they are safe, or they "work", or they satisfy both of you. But that's not love, and you should never mistake it to be. And, in that vein, you should never hate someone for finding a better client/customer relationship. That's how that shit works.

There is pain, remorse, regret, betrayal. But a lot of it is more under your control than you realize, and most of it starts with making yourself a happy version of you, not trying to be who you think someone would want. HUGE mistake.

Ditch those fuckers. Ditch every last one who drags you down. It's easy to tell the difference between people who just have bad days and people who want to see you fail.

Even if it's your own mother, you have to kick them to the curb if they are psychologically abusing you.

She also did obnoxious shit like going into little boutique stores and trying a bunch of formal dresses on with no intention to buy.
I had fun hanging out with her at her house and stuff but her behavior in stores was really appalling. After a few experiences like that I couldn't shop with her anymore.

Where I work I know people steal and eat candy all the time (my favorite is when they throw the wrappers in my go-back cart), but there's this one lady who comes in every couple days and always eats a candy bar while she shops and brings the wrapper to the register to pay when she's done. Yeah I agree with this. I used to use Walmart/Target/Walgreens level makeup and recently switched to nicer stuff, and had a revelation when my primer didn't make my skin feel tingly or hot. Thought that was just gonna happen all the time cus all the brands I ever used did that. Honestly not that much more expensive either, since you don't need to retouch it through the day and usually don't need to use as much to cover in the first place and therefore use much less over time. I think I'm still on my first tiny bottle of primer and its been about three months.

There shouldn't be that much hate for it I understand there are advantages for using brand stuff but if something works, it works. Though at times I prefer certain things and noticed some brands are better than target or cvs things.

For examples, concealer and eyeliner I would want it to be long lasting so I used cheaper stuff and I went through like.. 5 in a year because i have to constantly reapply. With brand names they last longer so I don't have to be so concious of my makeup before posing for a photo in cosplay

Other things such as powders or blushes are easier to apply again with quick pats than other makeup stuff so its ok to get the cheaper /store brands unless there is a type or brand that fits your skin or whatnot.

it really depends but things i want to show more and less work to reapply (eyelineer, eyeshadows, concealer, mascara) i would prefer brand. Other than that, it shouldn't be an issue. Sometimes there are girls that use cheap stuff that looks cheap

But why would I buy a game that I don't know I will play? Most demos are picked and chosen to have the most fun content of the game even if the rest of it is shit and sometimes the demo is completely different from the game. With music you can listen to it on the radio or the Internet, books you can borrow from a library, movie tickets are cheap and an app costs a dorra so even if it is shit you don't feel too sorry.
But what about the 60€ game or an expensive piece of software you need to pay for, sometimes even monthly? Some you don't get a trial period with and if you do it's usually far from the same as playing the game.
Besides, if I like it I'll buy it. I bought all of the Amnesia series, all Elder Scrolls collectors editions, all Tomb Raiders, etc. it forces the game companies to put effort into the game instead of slapping jiggling tits on a gun, making it multiplayer and calling it a day.

>> No.7502422

>But why would I buy a game that I don't know I will play?

Are you just stealing the game to try it out and plan on purchasing it later? If so then I guess that's a bit better? But the thing is, most people don't do that, most don't care about supporting the company or artist etc because "oh other people will do it" and then wonder why prices go up or why people go bankrupt.

This logic is pretty flawed, especially since it only applies to this one thing in this one context.

Also, I'm pretty sure that stealing games is not what makes their quality go up, companies know that people pirate their games. No company is going to look at decreased sales like that and assume it must be due to too many people wanting demos.

Justify it all you want, but atleast don't make wacky excuses like this.

I'm not, but I think that you've got a skewed view if you think that socialist rallies are anarchist riot free for alls.

I know that a lot of people have very bad views about socialism and don't seem to understand that many countries including the USA have some pseudo-socialist policies. So getting active and getting out there is as easy as presenting information about as mild things such as workers unions, universal health care or even just company benefits being an example of light socialist principles to get people to do some research and really think about things.

As someone who's been to protests(mostly involving worker mistreatment) I know that many people share the 'fuck the man' sentiment when it involves stealing, and all I can say to that is even though it would be a much better world if we could all just have the necessities like that, it's not happened yet so acting like it has isn't going to force it, we need to make real headway.

We get paid just barely above minimum wage, and we get a bonus at the end of the year if people didn't steal too much. This is crucial for people trying to raise families on 28 hours (full-time!) a week. Associates in the departments with high theft personally get in trouble if too much is being stolen. Our hours are based off of how much money the store makes, the more people steal the less hours we get.
It's not an issue I get really worked up about, but you have serious issues if you think nobody is hurt from this kind of thing.

I have a very strong feeling that one of the people in my language cohort (my uni pairs international students with students studying those languages) wants to hook up with me.
On top of making multiple comments about how cute I dress over the past few weeks, he's now asking me if I want to go out for dinner, go out to the bar, etc.
I'm okay with this except he's 10+ years my senior...

At random stores I always steal sticker packs and makeup, aswell as hair accesories like bows and hair clips. sometimes I'll grab bags of chips at gas stations.

At cons I usually grab posters/wall scrolls and pens.
One time at a co I manage to grab 2 alpacassos and a Rilakkuma plushie
