ok, I placed an order on March 8th. I never got an email about a tracking number, but it's airmail so I wasn't aware if you get one? I was under the impression that airmail has tracking but I don't know now. They said they would ship the order within 3 days of payment (or in the case of airmail I guess it's the following Tuesday after your order). It's been over a month now and last time I ordered something airmail from Bodyline it came within almost exactly a month. Should I contact their customer service or will it not help?

I just got their seifuku I'd been asking about and I have to say it isn't as crappy as I thought it'd be. The material is still obviously "costume" but it's more like what they make marching band uniforms out of than typical Halloween stuff. Not thin. And not short like what people say either (I did get a 2L though).

But now I have a question...how does everyone else wash them? Would repeatedly putting it in regular cold wash be ok despite the dry clean only label/costume construction?

In other news, this arrived this morning. It's nice and a super flattering cut, but the fabric is quite lycra-y and slightly shiney. Anon who told me it wasn't shiney, I'd like to tell you that you are ita and you maybe shouldn't be giving advice. It's nice for smart casual but not lolita.

I made 3 different orders to avoid huge custom taxes.

My boots came last week. They are cute, but the flowers seemed a bit dirty. I needed to clean it.

Now I'm waiting for this skirt and shoes. I never had anything from bodyline before, but I'm not having huge expectations about it. The shoes and boots seems fine for the price.

Not that anon, but does that mean they're using Korean sizes? I'm a little confused. When I measure my foot, it's definitely 23cm, which seems to be a size US 6, but I have a few size 6 shoes and my feet slip around in them a little more than I'd like, even with thick socks. I've also been buying my shoes from China in size 36, a bit of extra room + socks as well. And I've got a few pairs of shoes in children's size 3, these fit pretty snug, which I personally like, but when dealing with heals, you want the extra space there, right? Some charts say that 5.5 is 225 while others say 230. Did I just majorly fuck up by getting 225?

For the anon who requested pics of shoes 258-2. Sorry about not showing the ankle part, I don't have any tights on hand right now and I don't feel like having someone rag on me because I haven't shaved in a week.

The pleather is Bodyline's standard so it looks pretty nice, but it was a bit scuffled on one shoe and dirty with dust on the other one. The platforms are light and pretty comfortable.

My feet are a European 37-38 and I got a size 24. As you can see there's a bit of room, but I have wide feet and I don't think they'd have fit if I had picked half a size less. I tried them on with socks too and they were ok.

Just a warning: the ankle buckles may not fit if you have wider legs. I had to buckle them a bit looser than the way they arrived and I don't have particularly wide ankles.

I was wondering the exact same when I saw the damage. My only guess is that they somehow rubbed together when I sat down and got up from the train seats, because that's the only moment the platforms could have touched. I've never had this happen to any shoes before.

I also had to walk by a construction site where the ground was uneven and had a bit of debris, and some of the pleather closest to the soles peeled off.

He asked a lot about what he should do while he was in LA, touristy stuff like that. Went to dinner with him and a handful of other gals and it was actually pretty nice. Okay! Here are some things that we asked him or he brought up:
- His trip in LA. He thought LA was interesting and showed us pictures on his phone, especially the one with the two "homos".
- His future plans. He was going to stop by Sacramento before heading to Reno and later Colossalcon. He said he will spend about two months in the US, then later Europe and Australia when it's summer there (end of year).
- Bodyline business model. Bodyline = sell more at a lower price. Other brands = sell less at a higher price. He said that they can lose money during the free shipping campaign because it costs at least $10 to ship something, but he thinks that once people see what they can get at Bodyline, they will buy more in the future. Also since Bodyline sells internationally they need more sizes. Japanese brands can get by with just one size. Speaking of which...
- Sizes. He asked some people about how tall they are and whether they have any Bodyline. He said that it's possible for them to make any garment in any size.
- Bodyline body pillow. He said it's in production and one girl took some test shots of him for the cover.

>>7525646
Tiferet basically said something along the lines of "if AP can do it, so can Bodyline" in terms of creating pieces that fit larger girls. She said that she has one Bodyline dress but it doesn't fit (I think she said she doesn't fit 4L?)

A funny anecdote - when all of the girls were trying to figure out how to split the cost of taking purkura, we realized Mr. Yan wasn't with us but at the purikura machine still. Somebody said "quick, someone go keep him entertained!" and we found him sitting in the center of the purikura booth, hands on knees, looking straight at the camera, waiting for the machine to start.

My cosplay lucky pack finally came today, and I'm really pleased with it.
I got costume362 (Eva school uniform)- without the ribbon (not that that will be hard to replace at all), costume410 in navy (generic seifuku), what appears to be costume638 but missing the ugly looking necktie, a plain long sleeve white blouse, a navy pleated skirt, and a red plaid tie. So 4 complete outfits, and pretty much all stuff I can use.
I'll probably sell 638 even though it's pretty cute and made of this nice thick knit material, since I really don't have use for it. But definitely holding on to the Eva uniform and the seifuku.

Mine survived walking through a flash flood a year ago and are still kicking. So they're pretty sturdy, at least from the batch I ordered. I've gotten some BL shoes that were pure shit and didn't hold up after one wear, but others are perfectly fine and durable.

I bought a size down because they were out of mine, and they are very snug on me. I -can- wear them, but it's not very comfortable. And that's after attempting to stretch them with the ice/freezer method. I'm hoping that as I wear them some more they will loosen. For me, both the straps were tight (even after letting them out) and my toes tend to bump the front while walking. For reference, I'm typically a US9-9.5 and I bought a 25.0 (I wanted 25.5).

http://www.hmrc.gov.uk/customs/tax-and-duty.htm

http://customs.hmrc.gov.uk/channelsPortalWebApp/channelsPortalWebApp.portal?_nfpb=true&_pageLabel=pageVAT_ShowContent&id=HMCE_CL_000014&propertyType=document

Essentially:

Over £15: pay VAT at 20%
Over £135: Pay VAT plus customs duty (% varies)

If the seller marks as a gift however, you have until £36 till you get charged VAT. Customs duty as above.

Don't forget, if you have the pay custom charges, the courier/Royal mail/Parcel force will charge you another separate fee on top of that. Parcel force's fee is a crazy £13.50. It's for the privilege of paying the customs fee on your behalf so your parcel gets released from HMRC. When you pay the customs fee, you're actually paying off the debt owed to the shipping company.

>>7535965

>if each package was £20 each then they'd all get through without fees

If the parcel was marked as a gift, yes. If not, you'll have to cross your fingers and hope the officer you get is either lazy or feeling kind that day. I've had $80 parcels (non-gift) get through. I've also been charged fees on a $20 parcel because the fuckers thought the value was a lie (it was, so I didn't argue it).
