whats with the victorian era shit. Its literally the worst shit in the world
Im wondering about the fit of my IW JSK?I came under the measurements recommended but I'm wondering if it starts too high up on my torso? Its the long Glitter Seraphim JSK and it starts something like half an inch below my collar bone. Is this a normal IW fit?
>>7455129IW does generally cut a bit high but how is your bust? Do you have a large cup size? Even if you're under the measurements, IW is not cut for boobs above a B cup so it might be riding up on you?
>>7455129Do you have a worn photo?
>>7455129It's usually more like two inches below. Rather than that though, try to look at other things, are the armholes too high up as well? Is the waist falling in the right place or too high/too low?If the waist or the armhole is too high, you can adjust the length of the shoulder straps to bring it down. There should be buttons on the shoulder straps that you can unpick, then sew it further along the strap so that it's longer. If the armhole fit before, this will make it much lower, but you're likely to be wearing a blouse underneath so it shouldn't matter much.If the waist and armholes sit just right, it's just the neckline is an inch below your collarbone, I'd leave it as is and just coordinate around the high neckline (I suggest high-necked collars, maybe with pussy bows). If the armhole is too high and the waistline is too low, then your torso is too short. It's costly to shorten the bodice, so if you can't coordinate around the weird silhoutte, I'd suggest just selling on the dress.
>>7455138I'm a B or C dependingI did notice it flattening my breasts out a bit though not in an uncomfortable way, just looks a little unusual. Its shirred and I'm about 3-4 from filling the shirring out completely and my bra right now is padded>>7455143Pic related, hope its enough
>>7455147Its higher than my natural waist, yes. I'm 5'5" (hence opting for the long version!)The arm holes are higher than usual but not cutting into me.But nice idea about the straps! There's a heap of room left where I can add two or three more buttons so maybe this won't be so bad after all! I've been worried I'd have to sell it. Now I'm praying this will fix my kinda weird bust issue, pic related. Or am I being too fussy over it I don't know. It can be covered with a cardigan and all but for the days its too warm I may as well find a better fit dress.
>>7455150To me, it looks like it should be sitting lower. That version of the JSK looks like it was designed to be a low or drop waist jsk, flaring out just at the hipbones or so. Near as I can tell, yours is at your natural waist? If you can, I'd adjust the straps to lower it some so it sits better on your bust and the waist. I've had IW dresses that fit my width but the strap lengths and torsos don't work with me.
>>7455167Yeah no it's really obvious from the side anon, you really need to adjust with the straps. That top part there is supposed to kind of be a boob pocket. (I don't expect it to fit anyone with a larger cupsize but they should at least be in it!)I'm 5'3 and their straps are always too short for me.
>>7455169Naw my natural waist is an inch lower, I'm one of the long torso-stubby legged peopleStrap fixing it is! Looks like something I can finish before the end of the night. I'm so happy to ask you guys, it wouldn't have ever occurred to me to modify the straps.
Its even better in personThank you everyone! You've made me love this dress even more.
When's Sweetie Violet coming out?
how the dickens do people hang their dresses up like this
>>7455267Tape. I've done it before, doesn't harm the dress
>>7455177This surprised me - I'm 6'0 and moved the buttons on the straps on one of my JSKs right to the end to get extra length, and managed to make it too long. Do you have a long torso?
>>7455274maybe IW varies their strap length, putting them to the end may not work for all dresses
>>7455271like double sided tape or something?
MM is rereleasing Apollonia and Elodie Doll (again). Who's going for them?
>>7455307>Would buy immediatly>still too fat fot MMs waist measurements>doesnt matter, boobs will never be small enough to look good in an MM dressWhy
>>7455307Not excited at all, they've re-released these dresses like 5 times in the past. I'm suprised there are people still wanting them, especially Elodie Doll since it's so easy to get second hand. I'd wish they come up with something new or at least some re-releases of rarer designs they haven't re-released before.Pic related, I wish they'd rerelease something like this but it will probably never happen.
>>7455340Everything about this dress is gorgeous.Does anyone else think that the mannequin's proportions look really weird? Like a body that's been cinched in too tight?
>>7455323Woah, Apollonia has a waist size of 78, that's way bigger than I would have thought. That fits me with room to spare and I always thought that MM would be too small. Then again there's the issue of ribcages/shoulders.
>>7455307Apollonia until I die.I fucking love Apollonia.
>>7455340Morgane is one of my all-time favorite dresses. They've rereleased it once but I wouldn't say no to another release.
>>7455307Any idea how much Apollonia will be?
>>7455379Apollonia might fit in the waist but the bust is way too small.Elodie Doll's waist is too small for me, but even if it would be bigger it would look horrible since I have bigger boobs.Just gonn admit it, I'm just not really built for Mary Magdalene, even wothout the 15 extra pounds, I guess.
>>7455379The waist size is the empire waistline, nit the stomach.
>>7455379It is high waisted, that is why the waist measurements are so big.
>>7455395it's listed for 26040 yen
>>7455404Apollonia's bust is actually pretty big for a lolita dress, I have a 33-inch bust and bought it for myself and it turned out to be way too big, don't discount it if you fit other brand.
>>7455469I do not know how it fits in real life, It is offically 34 inches (88cm), that is not very big for a Lolita dress. I would need 37 inches...
Can somebody tell me what's going on with Angelic Pretty's shipping? Are they still shipping as normal? Or are they waiting for the two sites to merge or whatever?
>>7455085Corsets in lolita are a thing ? Are there any pics of these outside of the Chantilly/Atelier Pierrot dresses (because these would fit me really wonkily) please ?
>>7455085>Lolita General Sargentplease don'tthe last thing we need is your homestuck culture invading our perfectly good generals
Is there any way to get off BTSSB's black list?
>General SargentCut out that Hamfuck shit right the fuck now OP.
>>7455543Just email them saying you really want to order again, if it's been a long time since you were added to the blacklist, they'll agree to take you off of it if you pay within 3 days.
>>7455535Look up Excentrique.
>>7455473Not sure if it'd go up to 37, but it's definitely bigger than 34.
>>7455568Nah, I won't risk it. Even if it might somehow fit I am sure it would not look very good maximum stretched out and my booby pushed upwars so half of them might fall out (since the dress is so low cut). Gonna pass on that.
Can someone help me out with measurements. I really want the royal kitten print but they only have M Skirt or OP left (35in/29in). My bust and waist is 32in/25in. Would the corset lacing in the op make a difference and be a better fit, it should I keep waiting until I find a small?
>>7455864Was there a 'small' size made for the op? Like I have the op in size 1 and I am 32/26 and it fits pretty okay. Even on my boobs it gives a boob loaf so its the design. But idk if they made smaller sizes than that at the time. It should be okay either way if the M skirt is the same as the op in sizing.
>>7455167Just looks like you need to adjust the straps. It's as simple as removing the button and just sewing it back lower down (towards the end of) the strap.
Shoe help?Does anyone know a shoe size conversion chart that works?I'm trying to order shoes, I'm definitely a UK size 4, but some charts say my japanese size could either be 22 or 23.How big is a Japanese 23.5? The shoes I want only come in that size.
>>7455561Not that anon, but what about Innocent World?
>>7456085Did you try measuring your feet (stand on a hard surface on paper, trace your foot and measure heel to great toe a straight line)? Japanese shoe size is like your foot length in cm. I wear a size 5-6, my larger foot is 24.2cm, and Japanese size is 24-24.5
>>7456085I'm a Japanese 24.5 at a UK size 6 if that helps. The sizes are normally around 5 cm smaller than your actual foot measurement
I'm gonna ask a really stupid question, so I'll apologise for it in advance. I really want to make some coord collages but I just can't find a good program or site to make a proper one. What do you guys use to make a collage?
>>7456438Honestly? MS Paint.
This might have been asked in an earlier thread and I missed it, but does anyone have an update on the JeJ release of the Cadre-du-Chat tights? My gf ordered mine through RococoDaze for my birthday back in February, but all of the correspondence they've given her is that JeJ hasn't released the tights yet. Has anyone gotten theirs yet or does anyone have an further info?
Am I cursed to forever have to tailor my lolita, seagulls? I brought a skirt two years ago and it was way too long on me. A while ago I brought another one from a different seller and it's also too long on me! I'm exactly 5 foot. What's the general rule for skirt length? (Do I take a few inches off of my waist-knee measurements?) Would getting a larger petticoat solve this? Cause I already look like an overgrown child.
>>7456128Thank you>>7456129>The sizes are normally around 5 cm smaller than your actual foot measurementThanks, by 'actual foot measurement' you meant like it's actual length in cm or whatever, right?
>>7456646Longer skirts are getting more trendy. You can get away with longer lolita skirts as long as the bodice and whatever fits you well.
>>7455538>>7455559i barely have an idea what homestuck is i just thought it be fun to start the threadi'll do it every time now just for you!
>>7456129Isnt that an overstatement?
>>7456646I think it may be how you are porportioned. I am 4 11 and like most things hit me on the knee easily. There are a few things now that are longer (and i need a longer petti for them) but I never had issues with length. It also depends on where it hits you, as that may determine if it is flattering on you. Being short doesnt mean you cant wear long dresses. Pics would be nice to see what you need to do.
>>7456711Really? I have tried to wear my classic skirt without a petti and it looks fine as a regular cool long skirt, but long sweet's a little hard to pull off with or without petti. (I have one classic and one sweet skirts.) I'm glad that longer skirts are getting trendy, though!>>7456956I'm typical petite East-Asian! Pulling the skirt up to my boobs help, but I'd rather not... I try to leave it on my natural waist (the curve in my hourglass). Maybe I have really short legs since I have noticed that a bit about myself. Or maybe I'm buying skirts that are too long? It's 55cm.
>>7456085Stand fully on a piece of paper (don't sit down in a chair and bend over, you want your weight on the foot) in your preferred legware (socks, tights, etc). Bend down and trace your larger foot, keeping the pen/pencil straight down (don't let it bend in or out). Then draw a rectangle around your foot, hitting the longest points, and measure a straight line down in CM. This is your Japanese shoe size. Sorry for my shitty drawing, but I hope this helps! Shoe sizing in other countries can be just as bad as clothing sizes (I wear a 6 shoe in some brands and a 7.5 in others, for example, but I have a 23.5 cm long foot) so it's best to just ignore a conversion chart and measure your foot yourself, i think!
>>7456985That seems standard for the length on skirts, so it should be at knee length typically. If you do need shorter skirts, new AP is getting shorter so that is a thing, or scalopettes because those tend to on the short side as well. A bigger petti will make it rise up and therefore shorter on you, but you dont want to try to overcompensate with the petti.
anyone order recently from tokyo alice? I've sent them 3 emails with my order and no response. What email can I use to reach them?
>ordered from Innocent World last week>still no response>knew it would be like this but ordered anywayWhy do I do this to myself...
>>7457066I know they only have their international staff working something like 2 or 3 days a week? So maybe you just missed them.
>>7457013I played around with the skirt some more, and I figured out that it'd be perfect if I pulled it up to my boobs and then leave my blouse untucked! I just need to have a fitting blouse that won't look sloppy. So happy now! Next time I'll take your suggestions and get shorter skirts (maybe 10cm shorter or something).
>>7457066I feel you anon>Put in order with TBS 20 days ago>Get an email saying they're going to be very slow>Do it anyways>Haven't heard from them since I paid my invoice>mfw I wanted to get my items before my meet mid-april>mfw I did this to myself because I was too stubborn to try out a new SS
>>7457090Yeah I'm pretty sure I ordered on one of their vacation days. Still I'm always anxious that my items will sell out before they process my order.>>7457135Yikes, that sucks. Fortunately I don't have a deadline, just my own impatience.
>>7456438pixlr (online photoshop) or picmonkey for easymode collage
can i pull off this OP without a blouse or am I completely delusional. >by pull off I mean, can I at least look like a fat girl ;_;
>>7457513Sorry, man, but I don't think anything could make that dress look good.
>>7457513I would wear a cardi or bolero over the top because your bust looks really tube like... are you wearing some kind of shapeware? Anyway, I'd layer something (but not wear a blouse) to keep attention away from it
>>7457532nah, I'm just a man so I have a flat tube shaped body that is tragically also too large for lolita
>>7457536well that doesnt mean you can't invest in shapewear, like a corset. That belly fat can move up and down and you'll look less like a stuffed sausage.
>>7457539>>7457532oh yeah but, my point was I expect to look kind of fat but, do i at least look not particularly manly-fat? loli kind of want to get a corset so that i can better focus on standing up straighter, but like, so expensive and I'd rather see my options in person first somehow...
>>7456680>>7456716I think they meant .5cm>>7456646Definitely look for slightly shorter skirts (45-50cm), it sounds like you probably have a slightly lower natural waist even for your height so the extra 5cm matters. I'm 5' 2" and 50cm skirt length is just on/above my knees for me.
>>7455147Dude why doesn't IW just have multiple buttons on the straps for adjustments? Also how do I not boobloaf
>>7457564Because having random buttons showing on the strap would be a bit weird and unpicking, then resewing a button is an easy alteration that anyone can do. I don't think any brand that has adjustable straps puts more than one button on unless the strap is wide and requires two to distribute the tension from wear.

Shoe question! Thinking of placing an order with Lenore, but I've never bought shoes online before, trying to figure out what size to put to make sure they fit properly: if my feet measure 22cm exactly from heel to toe, do I just select the 22cm size? Or is that supposed to be the length of the shoe itself? Sorry for the newbie question
>>7457946You have to account for socks. It may fit you barefoot, but once you add socks it's not going to fit. Get a size up.
>>7457801awesome. thank you!
>>7457946>>7457960No, email them saying your feet are 22cm and ask them what do they advise re: sock allowances etc.
Oops, just realized I posted this in the old thread... Quick IW question- I assume the answer is yes but. if you're ordering 1 reservation item and 1 in-stock item from IW in the same order, they'll wait to ship both until the reservation item is released, right? They're not like Baby (I think it is?) that doesn't allow you to order and ship reserve and in-stock items at the same time?
>>7458920>>7457960Oh I forgot to mention that the 22cm measurement was with socks included, should it not be? I didn't think it would really make too much of a differenceEither way, I do think I'll just message the seller as to sizing issues, good idea
Can anyone share some pics of A-line skirts? All the skirt pics in my collections are bell/cupcake shaped or A-line JSKs.Pic unrelated.
>>7459382Must suck not being able to find your size in regular shoe stores for adults
>>7459547Oh don't even get me started, anon. I've been trying for months to find even just a normal pair of sneakers that aren't glittery zebra print, velcro or Spiderman.
>>7459582I used to think I had small feet before I met a friend who is also 22cm like you and I never complained again.
>>7459532I think I have a few. More if stock photos are okay.
>>7459705Anything is good. I want to see what brands have done with the waist area. I'm making an A-line skirt now and not sure whether I want to embellish it or not...
>>7459705>>7459712I think this is A-line... Unfortunately most of what I have isn't very embellished, I think, but I have about another quarter-third of my folder left to sift through.
>>7459736just a few more IW ones I found with waist embellishment
>>7459712Would there happen to be a pattern or at least tutorial/guide on A-line lolita skirts? I'll need to make one as well but I'm a bit afraid to start by going in blindly.
I just got a dress that I had been after for a long time which was my dream dress (tied with another I have yet to find) and it has weird white marks on it. It's black chiffon and I'm not sure if it's a stain or if it has gone that way from discoloration as it's fairly old. So far I've found 2 longish marks on the bodice and one on the front of the skirt - they're in really noticeable places. I'm going to contact the seller but I'm a bit worried as I had to hassle them a lot already with getting them to reply to me. Does anyone have any tips on how to get whiteish marks out of black chiffon? I didn't want to pay $400 to get a damaged dress, especially when it's one that I like so much.
I don't know how I feel about all those butterflies...
Actually it's alright compared to the jsk
>>7460454Hydrangeas are my fucking shit.
>>7460463>>7460454Welp I'm >>7460468 and I'm sadly not feeling this. I'm not much a fan of the butterflies or the sort of random stripes. Blue is something I'd consider because it has the look of clouds but I just dunno.
>>7460463I love everything about this!
>>7460454>>7460463This print is the next Cardinal Rose.
>>7460473Even the butterflies?
>>7460481Yep. The whole thing is very quirky and fresh.
>>7460454>>7460463I love the print (hydrangeas!), but the JSK design is a little plain for my taste, and the OP doesn't come in long. Which leaves the skirt, but I'm still waiting for confirmation on an order with them and I've spent enough money this month.
>>7460491Eh, to each their own
>>7460481There were great on the Papillon JSK but just plonked on the bodice like that... ehhhhh...
Wore Night Dream for the second time today and a button came off for the second time... Has anybody else had this problem?
>>7460497I'd be more inclined to like it if the butterflies were light and fluttery like the one on the head piece>clunky butterflies don't fly well with me
>>7460506Buttons falling off of brand is normal unfortunately. I usually reinforce all of the functional ones (waist tie, strap, etc) on my new items to prevent that.
>>7460509I think they're the same butterflies
>>7460509Oh man, that's a nicely designed bow. I think the dress' print is a bit kitchen tile-ish for me but that'd be nice with my Papillon js->No mint green colourwayWell it's just a dumb bit of ribbon so why would I want to buy it anyway
>>7460522It's just an applique stuck on a grossgrain ribbon bow. You could make one super easy for a couple bucks. As far as brand headwear goes, IW's are some of the easiest to replicate because they're so simple and really not worth the price they're charging unless they're in a print or a really specific custom color you wouldn't be able to match on your own.
Does anyone know what this skirt is? I can't find it for the life of me on lolibrary
>>7460860iw - forest harvesthttp://lolibrary.org/apparel/forest-harvest-festival-skirt

Maybe someone can help me, I'm getting a little antsy because I ordered something from IW on the 19th and until now, all I got was the automatic reply mail telling me to wait for the invoice...Is IW always this terribly slow? I haven't ordered from them before.
>>7460965>Edward Scissorhands>27 Dresses>The Devil Wears PradaDamn, Misako, you got some kind of taste.
Is there a way to decipher the age of a dress from Moi Meme Moitie's labels? There's two numbers on it: EGL-89047 and 03-3403-5745. If they're series numbers, then maybe I can work out how old this otherwise completely plain and therefore undocumented dress is from.
>>7460969I think those are popular movies that a lot of lolita like.
>>7460974They can take up to 2 weeks to invoice you. Shoot them an email if you're worried. Also check your spam and other mail folders.
>>7460985Maybe? One of their pieces say EGL-41344. If he goes by #of items created over the years, maybe you can get an approximate year.
>>7460999Oh okay, I was worried that this might be unusual. Thanks anon.

Complete differet topic, but this just appeared on my dash; Angelina from the albinwonderland blog answering the request for a full Lolit Outfit she mentioned to wear: "’m not sure if I really wear “full lolita”, although I sure do admire that style a lot! I tend to borrow elements and pieces from many fashion styles and fit them into my own personal style, so if I had to categorize myself within the context of lolita it would lean more towards retro lolita or casual lolita, or at times hime lolita. For example, here I am wearing this Angelic Pretty jsk a few weeks ago~(see Pic)Normally, to be considered proper lolita, I should be wearing a blouse under the jsk. But that’s just not me! And I think that’s okay, you know? I don’t really believe in rules when it comes to fashion, I say just wear whatever makes you happy. Anyways I’ve been back on a lolita kick the past few months so I’m sure you’ll see me in lots of frills in the future." So, what do you guys think? I really love her and I love that she enjoys her dress, but there is something about this that irks me. Anyone else or am I just a bitchy nitpicker about this? Nonetheless I would love to see a proper Lolita coord of her!
>>7461319that username sounds familiar for some reason...anyway that is irritating but just that she's making a big deal over wearing something in a really casual way. it's pretty common for jsk's like those to be worn like sundresses, especially during the summer.
>>7461319I think it's one thing if she was incredibly into the fashion and wearing it all the time, but it just seems like she got the dress because it's cute. I'm getting the vibe she doesn't want to wear lolita, rather incorporate the lolita dresses into her style. Which I think is okay, to each their own right? Everyone has to have their own levels of comfort in creativity and fashion.
>>7461319Of course she'd make a big deal. She's the one who makes such a fucking mountain out of a molehill for everything. Everything.I only see her gifs floating around tumblr and I already get so annoyed.
>>7460965'Dolores Haynes' is listed in the glossary too, I want to read what the entry says but no translator yet, dammit. Also, A+ for engrish typos scattered through the book.
>>7461319it would be fine if she accessorized more or wore a sheer bolero over it. whatever. it's not worth getting mad about since she won't listen to advice about it anyway.>mfw people who "don't like rules in fashion" try to start wearing lolita and get mad when people tell them they're doing it wrong or offer them concrit
>>7461319She shouldn't call or tag it lolita then. It's far too speshul to just be common old Lolita if she needs to grace it with her own youneek fashion magic.
>>7461331This. She's not a lolita and she wears the dress well. You angry anons need to calm down.
>>7461357She didn't tag it. She said all that + posted the pic as an answer to an ask.
>>7461360As long as it's not breaking the rules and called or tagged lolita then I think it's fine. I don't have a hate boner for people wearing lolita brand pieces out of a coordinate as long as they don't tag or call it lolita. I think it's often cute.
>>7460985The second number is a phone number, the first one is the actual product code. The first digit of the product code roughly tells the year when it was released (sometimes it's a year more or less). So the 8 stands for 2008. This only works with older releases btw. they are using a different system now.I wasn't able to find the actual dress though, only one with a similar product code (EGL-89048)http://web.archive.org/web/20081217082319/http://www.rakuten.co.jp/moi-meme-moitie/179422/1830551/It has to be there though, I'm sure it was one these broken links.. this is the closest I could get.
>>7461340I find it hilarious how clearly she enunciates in her videos, clearly thinking more for the gif than the video itself. And that forced jawline...
>>7461380So now it's frowned upon to enunciate in videos because lol famewhore. She should probably start mumbling, right? Just smush all her words into one slurred mess. Don't want people to think she speaks clearly for the attention she gets on Tumblr.I swear I'll never understand you people.
>>7461035Legally Blonde was a good movie, I don't care what anyone says.
Just venting my indecision in hopes it'll help me make a choice, since the reservation ends in less than a day.I'm so torn about whether to get this. I have Elodie Doll in navy and adore it, and I really like this light khaki colorway. But it's always on auctions because it's been released what, four times now? So I figure I have a pretty good chance of getting it in the future for somewhat less, or I can guarantee getting it now.
>>7460965>implying Legally Blonde, Devil Wears Prada, The Red Shoes, and Marie Antoinette aren't great fun to watch
>>7461691I would get it now, Elodie Doll (s?) often goes for around the 20,000yen~30,000yen mark on auctions anyway, compound that with SS fees + shipping it's around the same. Why risk not finding it?
>>7461352she's not wearing lolita though, she's just wearing a dress, and Albin used to wear lolita so she knows what is and isn't lolita. I do it all the time, I have a ton of lolita dresses in my closet, but I don't think full lolita is flattering on me so I wear heels and belts with my dresses.
Does anyone here know how the conventions go about getting the brands to come over and how much it might cost?
>>7461319She looks like Princess Pudding without piercings. sage for no contribution
Another IW release?!
>>7462135I think this is a nice colorway
>>7462135I really like this colour combination and that hat, but I'm so tired of the pocket watch theme already.
>>7460454ONCE AGAIN BRAND ACTUALLY DELIVEREDI was thinking I'd have to make my own hydrangea print. Its a shame its just purple ones, and I think these could have been drawn more delicately.. but wow how many times have I talked about a hydrangea print!
>>7462135Reminds me of a nicer version of Bodyline's Antique Clock print, which I am sick to death of looking at. I agree with anon, I'm so tired of the pocketwatch theme.
>>7457548that shape wear will probably only take you so much Go custom made otherwise you'll look and feel unfortunate. You want to feel pretty right? Not pretty tight.
>>7460182It really depends on what they are, so it's hard to say. Pics?>>7460454I think it's great. There are a lot of prints with random butterflies on them (forest animal prints and etc) but not as many where they're the actual focus, apart from MSND and one by Meta I think off the top of my head. And I love seeing different varieties of flowers in prints. It's a lovely spring release, I like the OP. The blue version of the headdress is really pretty, too.
>>7460182It sound like soap residue
>>7460974I ordered on the 20th and I'm in the same boat as you. I emailed them today to check up on it since 3 of their working days have passed. The slowness is normal for them while they're having a sale, but it wouldn't hurt to email them just in case your invoice got lost in cyberspace or something (I had that happen once).

>>7460965Wow, for a fashion icon, she sure does have some shit taste.
>>7462389What are "fashion icons" supposed to watch then? Citizen Kane? Heaven forbid a model enjoy watching lighthearted movies relating to fashion.
>>7462404the thing is that lolita is a great movie?? like it's kubrick??? and the book is like, amazing literature?? does everybody literally assume that because the main character is a pedo it means that it's low brow entertainment...? so confused. besides all that, what >>7462404 said, what does it matter what they watch, really? And movies that look good are probably the most likely choices for a list like this.
>>7462414While I don't agree with them, I think "shit taste" anon was referring more to the chick flicks on the list since like you said, Lolita is a very famous and critically-acclaimed film.
Massively pissed off. An item I was watching on yahoo auctions was ending today and was bidded on but as I was at work I couldnt use japonica as they were closed, I used buyee and snipe bidded and won, but then my bid was cancelled anyway... FFFFFFFF
>>7462414>??>???>??what is with tumblr and their love affair with spamming question marks
>>7462471not tumblr but sometimes you just have a lot of questions i guess
>>7462488But one question mark per question should be enough
Someone tell me what Nu-Lolita is.
>>7462562is that the fashion where people are inspired by the book/movie lolita and not to do with our lolita?
>>7462565...if it is then I think I may have vomited a little in my mouth.
>>7462358If you want them to do things like have things to sale they also have to have that space. So that is paying for an area for their booth and stuff. You do need to coordinate with the people who are running the con to do this and see what the con can do to accommodate. Price tends to be the biggest issue because it costs them a lot to fund these guests and you need to have the demand, and you need to convince them it is worth it.
>>7463189>You do need to coordinate with the people who are running the con to do this and see what the con can do to accommodate.Well, if you're trying to get a brand to come to a con, it'll be through the con's guest relations staff. You can't invite guests on behalf of a con yourself...
>>7462565>>7462577Yup. It's a growing trend right now. And yes, they tag it 'lolita'
>>7463204Explains why someone asked taobao finds for it. What does that even look like?
>>7463378...never mind. I regret looking now. I'm so sorry for your tag.
>>7463398I searched nu lolita on tumblr, and it looks fine? Or am I missing something? There were only like 4 or so posts, so...

Found this pic on weibo. Any infos on it?Please tell me that this is not a replica but an actual rerelease. We all waited so long for this to happen..but then It also appeared on taobao, I'm not sure what to think about it.http://serene-purity.taobao.com/
>>7463847>>7463852>>7463854What exactly makes this "nymphet" fashion? It just looks like generic Tumblr shit that's been around for years. >>7463856Jesus Christ, those shoes are hideous. They look like some kind of elaborate medical brace.
Anyone know where I could find ETC or Milk replicas.
Has anyone ordered from Ista Mori before? I'm interested in their Nameless Poem OP but even the smallest size is rather large. Are their dresses normally on the larger size or is this some sort of mistake? Also a heads up for plus sized lolitas - they even have an XXL that goes up 128 cm in the bust.
>>7464218jet j replica. but ooo might get
>>7464218it will be a replica according to the page, and from the photos it actually looks pretty nice?
>>7464306If you've seen the original sketch it's supposed to be very loose like a babydoll dress. But since it's so cheap and large I expect to see some hamplanet stretching the shit out of it.
>>7464306How likely is it that I'll be able to get this second hand in the future?>tfw the most gorgeous dress you've ever seen and you're gonna be broke for ages
>>7464308>>7464309Too bad, I was hoping for the real one. Well I hope this replica does not effect JetJ that they end up not releleasing it because of this. This would be really fucked up.
>>7464313Ah thank you! I did not.>>7464315And loli-loli paradise said they would have it after pre-orders for 735 HKD + Shipping. Ista Mori has their own storenvy you can order it from btw.
>>7463896>http://nymphetfashion.tumblr.com/I like cute, youthful fashion and all, but the whole "nymphet" thing creeps me out considering the origins of the word. It's what the pedo/ephebophile narrator of Lolita used to describe his fantasy girls, which is definitely not something I would want to associate with (I know the book was doing the opposite of promoting that sort of thing, but any nuance really goes over people's heads).
>>7464330Has anyone ever ordered from Loli-loli Paradise? She's just a agent right? The storenvy markup is ridiculous but I'm not experienced with Taobao.
>>7464306I was interested in this but it says that you need to wash it first to "set the dye". That makes me nervous that it might have a tendency to rub.
>>7464335i think it's because seeing 14 year olds girls proudly call themselves (and dress as) essentially "pedo-bait" or whatever you want to call it is really disturbing. because to their point of view it might be taking early ownership of their sexuality, or being proud that they can cause such a reaction in people at a young age, maybe. but from a pov that has a fully developed frontal lobe, it's essentially inviting abuse and statutory rape. and proudly, boldly, with no shame. it's hard to watch. i don't think most of the girls who would want to dress in ~nymphet~ fashion are really thinking about the realities of what's out there, just a nebulous thrill at being thought of as sexy so soon.
>>7463398 here. Sorry for the confusion. I went to the lolita tag. So much non-lolita shit on it. >>7463665>>7463830>>7463833>>7463838This is one of the ones I found. The whole nymphet movement needs to die in a ditch.
>>7464330Could I possibly have a link to their Storenvy? 735 hkd isn't too bad though actually, thank you for the info, anon!
>>7464468It's terribly marked up on their storenvy though. $165 USD. http://www.storenvy.com/stores/318685-ista-moriYou're better off ordering it from their Taobao.
>>7464434I found thesehttp://a-lolitas-life.tumblr.com/http://nymphetdesire.tumblr.com/>Nabokov is my daddyughhhhhhh
>>7464434>>7464558This is kinda disgusting... Keep your fetishes to yourselves, please.
Hey lolis of /cgl/, I'm new to the fashion and am really drawn to aristo, it just suits my tastes more than most actual lolita fashion, with the longer silhouettes and subdued colors. However there seems to be 100x more pages, comms, and resources for loli. Are there guides or pages that I should look at for aristo, or companies that specialize in it? I've been looking but I haven't found much.
>>7464367I remember we had a thread a while back talking about the nymphet trend and there was a link to a blog where some middle/high school girl said she flashed herself to her male teacher. Amazing.
>>7465135I remember that. I got banned for posting a screencap of her post where she claimed she seduced a married teacher.
Does anyone know what's going on with AP's online shop? I know about the renewal and all that, but there is a notice on their site right now, but it's an image rather than text and I can't remember the damn image translator.Apparently, it's "open" but how the hell do you get to it? The notice is below:>http://www.angelicpretty.com/shopping/index.htm
>>7464558All these dumb people romanticizing the shit out of this book are the grossest thing ever. I'll bet half of them didn't even read it.
>>7465217imo if you've read the book it's hard not to enjoy it at least a little
>>7465173I'm not sure what the kanji next to the four means, but it might be open in either April (4th month) or in 4 days?
>>7465344Ah! Thank you! I was thinking that the 4 was referring to April, but it being a date or number of days makes more sense.
So, I'm new to lolita and have a question for you all that have been in it for a while. I'm in love with Merry Making in the Ghost Town. I really want the skirt in navy. What I'm trying to figure out is: Since it's a new print, should I wait a little while to try to acquire it? Or will the price only go up from here, so I should seek it aggressively now? Thanks, ladies!
>>7465557Price has already climbed on all navy colorways. Look for it now. Good luck on finding head bow and socks however.
>>74654984月 just means April.
>>7465557The price has climbed on pretty much all colorways of this print, which is unfortunate because there was a lot of criticism of my desired colorway (red) when it first came out and I figured I was going to be able to find it for less than retail after Halloween was over.I'm still mad about it lol.
>>7465173>http://www.angelicpretty.com/shopping/index.htmkanji next to four is for month, so AprilThe rest just seems to be a bunch of rehashing of known information. Something about a 500 point present.
>>7465584>>7465594Thanks! So there isn't more info about the new sign up?
>>7465565>>7465590As I had feared... thanks, again! I'm so bummed that one went for $185 on lacemarket at the beginning of February.
How long should I wait to ask a seller when they will ship my item? I bought something on Wednesday but the seller did not specify when it would be shipped, and has not told me it was yet. I don't want to be annoying, how long do most people take for this?
>>7465711Personally I'd find one question about it to be okay. More than that and I'd get annoyed. Then again I ship shit out fast and it'd be on the way within a day or two. I'm generous and I'd give a private party up to a week to do it. Remember that you have up to 45 days (assuming it's PayPal) to dispute and something like 180 if through credit card.
>>7465711I usually ask during transaction, but if not, then wait a week. If it's not done by a week, then send a message.
>>7465744I'll wait until Wednesday to ask, then. I don't want to be rude and I'm not in a rush, but I haven't bought much from others so I didn't know what to expect. Thanks anon.>>7465750Yeah, I should have asked then, I'll do that though.
So, quick question. My eyebrows are very dark and thick, will a light wig like pic related look absolutely ridiculous on me?
>>7466184Doesn't look right in my opinion.Shape eyebrows and get eyebrow mascara. ... Or hide everything behind a full fringe
>>7466193I do shape my brows, they're just very noticeable regardless. First I've heard of eyebrow mascara though, I'll look into that.
>>7466208This is the one I use, but there are other brands like Kate, Dolly Wink, etc that produce eyebrow mascaras
>>7466184If the bangs are trimmed well, they should be right at your eyebrows and thus your eyebrows would not be visible.
>>7466245I think the goal should be to look like what's on far left.>eyebrows aren't entirely visible but we can tell you have eyebrows underneath that helmet of hairThe far right is, no offense intended, extremely fake looking.
I currently have what is becoming a very large order with From Japan, consisting of a couple of slightly bulky items (a few bags). Would it be better to split the order in half or to ship it all together? I've bought: 1x dress, 3x bags, 2x socks, 4x hair accessories, 2x jewellery
>>7466315Probably together is best.
anyone have any good pictures of casual lolita coords with shirts over loose fitting t-shirts? can it work sucessfully?it sounds cute in theory but the only people i see trying it are ita as hell
>>7466412>shirts over loose fitting t-shirtswhat?
I recently got the lolita sewing book for autumn and winter which has an Enchantilly pattern. It won't be able to do it for a while but will people be interested in some scans at some point if there is none already out?
>>7466412No T-shirts for Lolita. Cutsews with cardigans instead. Things should be fitted to fairly fitted, not loose.
>>7466315It depends on where you live and which packages get hit for customs and how you're getting it shipped what method you're using.
>>7466412if lolita is just an excuse to wear a skirt with a petticoat, then just wear a skirt with a petticoat. it'll probably look a million times better than if you're trying to actually make it a lolita outfit.
Just say this coord on tumblr; the Lolita had altered the dress with pic related circled... things?Helg /cgl/, what are they called and where can I get them?
>>7466592They're just decorative buttons, I guess?
>>7466592Cloak clasps. You can get them on etsy, ebay at knitting shops, etc.
Can someone translate this??
>>7466701not a translation but it looks like a maintenance notice
>>7466701I was about to say what anon above said, moitie have a similar message on their website.
>>7466718mm, isn't today the day the tax increase goes through? maybe it's maintenance for price increases.
>Tfw been wanting to join lolita for 4 years>All the while been in love with the Lotta print>Just sent my first payment for a payment plan to get my first lolita item>It's a lotta skirt
I placed an order with IW last week. I got the auto invoice, but no email to make the payment yet. They invoiced pre-tax increase prices in the auto email. What are the chances I'll actually have to pay more when they send for payment?
>>7467664That's odd. I placed an order on the 26th. You should have received your email to make payment by now.
Someone who's never lolita'd before. What would you guys suggest for a white rabbit themed coord? I'm thinking a white and light pink/red scheme but I'm not too sure where to start?
>>7467690I got the invoice email on the 28th. I don't think they're that far behind. Especially because the site says they're a little behind on emails after the sale.
>>7464325Replicas have never really affected things in japan, whether rereleases or the secondhand market.>>7466184Yes. I'm same as you, and have given up on ever pulling blonde off, whether in cosplay or for lolita wigs, just looks really off.
>>7467780I just googled 'white rabbit lolita'. A dozen ideas on the first page. Start with google image search.
>>7467886I already did thathonestly a majority of them look really shittyI came here to hear/see other options
>>7466441also the scans that someone uploaded before: https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/45231979/Otome%20no%20Sewing%20Book%201.pdf
>>7467660lol I remember all your requests in the drawthread /sage
Do you guys think Misako's book will ever be officially translated? I'm tempted to just buy the book in Japanese, but alas I won't be able to read it.
>>7467954Yup! Though it's not nordic blue, I can deal with that
>>7467897Well, well, seems your taste, critiquing abilities (but not tact) is super-duper elevated then especially as a noob who isn't lolita yet. Yeah, good luck with that...do let us know how it goes, won't you please?
>>7467987What is it with anons being mad about newbies wanting to look nice on their first time lately? Is it the same sandy anon who was whiteknighting the NZ comm? You type like her. I hope it's the same person, I'd hate to think there's more than one running around.
>>7466470I live in Australia so I don't really have to worry about customs. Shipping will probably be by either registered airmail or EMS, but I think they'll make me use EMS as the value is a bit over $200.
>>7468113I think it's great for newbies to want to look nice. I do have a problem with rank noobs calling the majority of things they see so far 'really shitty' when they haven't do much as made a coordinate themselves. They need to learn to do a little research and not expect to be spoonfed. Alice and rabbit themed things are everywhere in Lolita. I noticed you and others did not jump to help her either.
>>7468113Not the anon you're replying to, but I don't get that vibe from the conversation so far. A newbie basically asked for a picture dump in lolita general and got redirected to google image search. It's pretty standard.Nobody hates on newbie lolitas who want to look good on their first time. We love them. We just hate on those who don't want to do their own research. Everybody gets redirected to google if the question is too general or too easy to answer.
>>7467780“Begin at the beginning," the King said, very gravely, "and go on till you come to the end: then stop.”― Lewis Carroll, Alice in Wonderland
The latest meta blouses are so lovely.
>>7467780This kind of themed outfit is a little bit difficult to pull of without looking too costumey, especially as a begginer. Otherwise, yeah, google, and lolibrary. Seriously, look at Baby and AP's items based on Alice, choose a style (old school, sweet, classic based on your color scheme) and find the best accessories to go with. Make collage and come back here.
>>7468230Oh fuck I need that now.
>>7468113ooh which thread was the NZ comm talk in?
/cgl/, what exactly makes everybody sell the same print at the same time ?There are something like four dreamy dollhouse JSKs for sale in the Lolita Sales group and two Dreamy Baby Room, and there are loads of Melty Chocolate on mbok and Yahoo!Auctions right now (I think you could make a full set or two with it)I'm just wondering why
>>7468282I think it's a mix of springcleaning, popular opinion and maybe herd mentality.Spring cleaning happens around this time of the year, and you're likely to come across old things stashed away.Popular opinion -- if you come across an old dress and it's still worth something you might hang on to it, or at least think twice about selling; however, if it's past its popularity peak then you're likely to sell it off in order to make space and maintain a nicely curated wardrobe. As for herd mentality, it's not so much copying your peers, but sometimes if you see someone selling a dress you own, you might be reminded that you still own that dress and no longer like it as much, so then you put it up for sale. And lastly, given that a lot of these things are seasonal repeats (eg AP puts out a chocolate print and a toy print every year) then it might be girls selling off the dresses after their season is over, in time to buy the next release.
>>7468282So they can start buying the new more mature sweet themed items maybe (getting too old for boldly childish things like toys on prints and big cartoony globs of chocolate dribbling on everything) If youre youthful still and wanted to get into sweet, nows your chance!
>>7466184I will never understand how having dark brown eyebrows is shit but having black lashes and liner is not. both play a role in making eyes look larger and faces look more striking Anyway I'm guessing you're naturally brown eyed brunette too? Regardless of brows its OK but if your eyes are brown as well it looks a little more silly that you got blonde hair on top... shame but true. At least brown eyes can pull off all eye shadows I guess but unfortunately not all hair.
>>7466412Sloppy t-shirts + fancy puffed skirt don't sound cute to meA prim well fit shirt like a cutsew though, yes.but from what you tried to describe it sounds as silly as a old fashioned puffed sleeve bodice being casually worn with a pair of straight cut jeans.Nonsensical. Un-cute
>>7466315wouldn't it be cheaper to use a different service? FJ I heard is best for if you want to do really small orders like AP post cards or something
>>7466221I have this, I either got shit brows or I don't know how to apply this coz it always looks painted on and fake..
>>7468315That's what I figured too :)I'm not into prints this sweet unfortunately. I like looking at them but I know I wouldn't wear them. And it looks like they're having a hard time selling them too - I think nobody bought any of the Dreamy Dollhouses.
>>7464558I feel bad for Nabokov.
Has anyone else noticed that meta in general on mbok has seemed to go up in price? Also a lot of AP's sweeter prints seem to be going for cheaper and a lot more have been going up than probably 8-10 months ago?
>>7468369yeah true! I bought a dreamy dollhouse skirt on whim not long ago for 5k yen. Too sweet for me to wear out as well (darn me I got the pink color way). Unless I toss in a little red or brown with it very carefully.
>>7468282There have been literally 10 people or more selling the Gathered Chiffon JSK lately which I thought was oddCaptcha: EVEN SPEED-WAGON IS AFRAIDWell that's interesting.
>>7468391Dropped my pic. What the hell, it's the same Captcha.
>>7468393Do you like the black one or black x iris better? I can't make up my mind but I really love the design of the dress.
>>7468396I'm not sure, I really liked the all-black one when it first came out and I remember wanting to wear it to my school formal. The iris one is really nice too though. I really don't care for the red one though.WTF is this captcha? I'm guessing this is an April Fool's as when I hover over it, it changes to a normal one. Let's see if it works when I type in Japanese.
>>7468355Actually, I have grey/blue eyes. I think I'm just gonna try out some eyebrow masara, and if that doesn't work I'll bleach my eyebrows a few shades lighter, since they're darker than my hair is and it would probably make my face look a lot softer too.
>>7468404its either aprils fools or extra anti-spam stuff.hover over it to turn it into a real captchacoincidentally I have a hilarious one
>>7467796Yeah, they're probably busy with people making orders with the change in the VAT in Japan on April 1st.I just hope my package arrives by the 11th. I have a tea party to go the next day.
>>7466743Baby has it too... so its likely theyre working on their tax increase as well.
This will sound lame but does anyone have any full scans of the GLB in either vol.50 or 51? I was hoping to buy the current one today for a last minute project I'm doing tomorrow to look at all the brands shown currently and who advertises but there wasn't any in the shops that normally stock them, just a couple that were 1-2 years out of date. I did buy the current Kera (even though I think i just found scans for them). If anyone could help that'd be great.
>>7468230A lot of Meta's blouses in the past 3 months or so have been amazing! And I've missed them all due to allocating funds for other things. I wonder how often nice Meta blouses come up secondhand...
>>7469560In the western market, not often unless it's lucky pack season and you got a bunch of fugly ones. On mbok and Y!JA, pretty regularly, but again, mostly fugly ones. You can find nice ones though. I've gotten a few of their older chiffon ones in the last year for under 4000yen each.
>>7468404>>7468471Look at moot's red announcement, guys.
>>7468230I feel like the only person who dislikes that style of sleeves. They're everywhere right now. That blouse is gorgeous otherwise.
>>7469768I don't like those sleeves either.

>>7468375I somehow ended up with Dreamy Baby Room OP in pink last year... I can't sell it because nobody wants it and it's absolutely impossible to tone it down ;_;
