2009 was my first con/first cosplay. No wig (braids were ghetto ones from party city), dat "trim" on the "jacket", dress was bought from china town and hemmed by hand.

Now is a costume made from worbla (and a gradient wig that isnt shown), and a 2 way stretch (with the stretch going vertical) sequin bodysuit

Mostly bought online, she might make a few props or accessories here and there. She only brings it up when people ask her directly in the comments. Same here. I am lucky if I get one done. Back in the day (1999-2001) that's how it was for most people. You made one and the other one you made last year got moved to Friday status. If you had more then they got moved to Sunday.

With me it just kinda stuck. I still make one full costume and MAYBE if I am lucky there will be a costume I can make out of items that are easy to get or I already own. Then I'll have two costumes for that year.
