I've been roped into a Madoka group. Can we get a Madoka cosplay thread going?

Really curious to see how other's have done that white underskirt of Madoka's.

I've been wanting to cosplay as Homura, but since I'm a guy, I'd either have to crossplay or cosplay a Rule 63 design. I'd rather do the latter.

What are some good designs?

I'm a dude and I'm planning on being homuhomu while GF is Madoka. I'd like to do a serious crossplay, but I couldn't pull it off. So should I do a mainly joke one? I'm thinking of not shaving and having a cigar or some other sort of manly prop.
Or I could try to crossplay, and probably look pretty cringeworthy.

I've not thought about a rule 63, but I usually don't much care for alternate designs. And I want to wear a pretty skirt.

Also related, how strict are cons usually on prop weapons? I have an airsoft deagle I was planning on cutting the orange tip off of. legally in my state I can bring a real gun with me despite rules, but wouldn't be able to pose with it and I don't want to make trouble for security people.

Pending serious replies I always think waistcoats are a good look on guys of most body types.

Though this picture is a terrible example I think dress pants with the diamonds up the wide, a white waistcoat with her distinctive collar and a black shirt would look quite good. Perhaps half the purple diamonds going down the arms of the shirt and have large white cuffs cut to the shape that her white sleeves normally end at.

Might draw some designs now that the idea is in my head.

Unless you guys are like, 6 ft+ and built like a truck, you'd be amazed at what some makeup can do. I mean, if you're a fan of the series, you should just do the girls and see what happens. Homura especially, as I think she's the easiest to pull off/get away with as a guy.

Just practice as much as possible beforehand with makeup techniques, body shapers (corsets, waist cinchers, tights, etc...) and if you're still not happy with the results you're getting, then try something else. You never know until you try...

Kyouko has her shoulders bare, and that would draw attention to them.

But yeah, the hoodie would work to hide your shoulders.
In the movies, she does attend school with the other girls, I believe, so a uniform is okay too.
