Easy: Just cosplay a dude. I think the ones who could easily have thick bushy eyebrows are John, Jake/Gpa, Striders, Tavros, and Sollux.

If you wanna reshape your eyebrows, though, you can buy eyebrow shavers. You have to do it more often than waxing, but it's cheaper and easier.

That said, AUs should have a maximum of 1 explanation mark. Genderbend!Character, Steampunk!Character, Bloodswap!Character -- not twelve descriptions to justify closet closplay.

Yeah, I definitely picked up on the Tia Dalma vibe. Feferi's lusus is so massive though, I think a longer, much bigger (whether voluminous with relaxed waves or ratted or what) wig and dress with a flowier skirt and no pink trim would have worked better. I'm not a fan of the french courtisan lip either. Idk, I feel like this idea could have been executed so much better. Right now the outfit looks like something one of Triton's daughters would wear, not a humanized ocean dwelling horrorterror.

their eye makeup looks very feminine to me and out of place. i think they were trying to make their eyes look more narrow but they should have done it in a more subtle way. and with the brown eyeliner all over their face.

i'm also a little bothered by the wig going almost entirely to the side as opposed to going back, but that's a general pet peeve if mine with a lot of dirk cosplayers.

Last con I went to, there was someone doing Vriska's fairy outfit. Not horrible, but not super great either, but they were carrying the largest bucket I've ever seen.

I honestly thought about asking her just, "Why?", but decided it just wasn't worth it.

Of course, the comm I'm from has a rep for being one of the worst, so I guess maybe we're just an outlier? Who knows.

Anyway, moral is, don't be a Homestuck in Arizona. It isn't worth it.

About two years here. I've heard a horn exactly one con, and it disappeared after an hour, and maybe three honks.

I haven't seen buckets except as a prop, and usually they've got candy! Pretty much every time I've seen a bucket, either the cosplayers are using them as their tote for the con (so their camera/wallet/whatever is in there) or it's full of candy and they're passing it out.

I dunno, other than being loud and overexcitable, I've had very few problems with Homestucks. Maybe I'm just old, so I see them as kids fucking around, and am pretty sure they'd be doing it in whatever fandom they're in. They can be noisy or immature, but whatever, they're kids. I just hang out with the adults. Most of them are pretty cool and mellow.

At one con I went to, apparently horns were a huge problem. One cosplayer honking it throughout the entire con, to the ire of everyone there. As for buckets however, I've only seen it once, and it was used to carry around snacks and other things, so I think that's a good way of using it.

Anyways, I also feel the same. They're just kids, so long as they're not purposely being jerks to anyone, getting in anyone's way, then they're alright in my book, they're just having a good time. I tend to just hang around other cosplayers, making me the only Homestuck among them sometimes.

Yeah, I can see that happening. I think at the con I went to, someone was quick to this kid and just either took the horn away or told them not to use it. I know a few Gamzees actually take the squeakers out of their horns so they can still carry them for photos without, you know, honking all day.

Most of these kids are just kids- and frankly if you go to them as a grownup and go, "Hey, this shit is not cool, don't do that," most behave themselves. Screaming at them and insulting them is the quickest way to rile them up into being MORE obnoxious out of some twisted vengeance.

What I find MORE annoying than obnoxious preteens are the... Kinda age 17-19 kids that feel like because they're that old they're welcome in barstucks because they're "super mature for their age." My darlings, maturity has jack-squat to do with if you are mature enough or not, and everything to do with laws and bars, and what's considered a "minor" and a lot of us would really really like to keep our jobs.

Yup! Generally everyone's buzzed and happy. I go totally sober (can't drink, health, bullshit) but they're easily my favorite part other than the drawparty. People are far more relaxed, not worried about minors.

Also, not everyone cosplays Homestuck at Barstuck. I know a lot of people actually do other cosplays throughout the con now, but then come to Barstuck to hang out with their HS friends. Especially since the fandom's splintered lately.

Depends. Usually by then everyone's buzzed from the barstucks. I like them. Katsu's was fun. (Save for DrunkRoxy getting drunk and puking again, but I only heard that whizzing by while I hung out with friends.

They're usually held at midnight/after the bar closes till wee hours, specifically to weed out the kiddies. Most little homestucks, when I ask if they're going, respond with, "my mom won't let me stay out that late." Mission accomplished. Doesn't mean a few won't sneak in, though.

It's nice to hang out with HS artists, though.

Hey guys, I'm that Signless. Yes its fleece, yes I actually put it together, its not just a blanket. I was aware I'd made a mistake fabric wise as I tattered it, however, I don't totally regret it... that Saturday of Katsu everyone else in my group was freezing but I WAS SO VERY WARM.

If I ever wear him again, I'd be remaking the cloak with something completely different, but honestly, February and Fleece was an okay combo with all the snow at the time.

I'll be damned if I can find it now, but someone took a picture of their bathroom after Otakon with grey bodypaint smeared all over the tub and sinks and so on, and signed it, "Love, The Homestuck Fandom." Of course it spread like wildfire, and when people leapt on the original poster, she cried that she had taken the photo before she cleaned up. Agreed but this cosplayer has some issues and since it's a rather large photo it's easy to see. They need some eye makeup and mascara (the eyelashes are grey in the photo) and some paint for the eyebrows since they're starting to get lost. Also it looks like she could use some more practice binding but since this is an issue I still have a ton of trouble with I can't give her too much flak.

The biggest issue I have here is with the vest, it looks like it was painted over? It looks lumpy and kinda weird looking, I think something plain or with a subtle pattern could be used in the same color would be better.

Only really commenting on this since this can be a decent looking Eridan if the cosplayer just takes a few more extra steps with their makeup and clothing choices and now I can't sleep with that Dave Gif somebody posted.

I think it's Tumblr that's causing the problem.
