Seems like people have heard/read more stories than witnessed them. I plan on going to a con in the coming months and if something does happen, I plan on recording/taking pictures. Most horrific thing I can think of are my weeb days when I was the harbinger of harassment. But I was like 13-15, I forget, and people never seemed to get mad at me. Took a certain slap in the face to make me go "wait a second, I think I should stop this."

Very similar thing happened to me at Otakon 07', my first big con. I was talking to friends with my back turned when I heard this loud screech and heavy steps quickly approaching. Before I knew it, I was glomped so hard it knocked me to the ground. This hambeast who was at least twice my size re:wider than 2 of me shoulder to shoulder just kept saying "OMG I LOVE YOUR CHARACTER!" Eventually my friends managed to pull her off of me and that's when I discovered that my knee was bleeding through my costume. I was pissed. My knee was all sorts of gross colors the next day and stiff. Fuck that bitch, glomps should be kept amongst friends or people who actually want them.

All the worst shit happened to me when I was cosplaying Homestuck. At Otakon a shitty Dave cosplayer grabbed my ass as I was posing for pictures and I've had a lot of people grab me by the horns. At the 2013 katsucon photoshoot a shitty Rufioh who was twice my size grabbed me by the septum ring and I had to actually lose my shit at him. Homestucks are generally the worst crowd. I've never had anything weird happen to me elsewhere.

I've been touched inappropriately by a few different guys at a few different conventions. Guys flipping my skirt, grabbing my breasts, touching my butt, etc. Was young and wasn't sure what to do. One of those "next time he does it, I'll tell someone" sort of things.
Wasn't even cosplaying those few times.

I was cosplaying Sakura once and had a Sasuke cosplayer come to hug me and then bite me on the neck. Had it not been Sunday afternoon, I would have reported her.

At a rave once I had some hambeast jump up on me and really aggressively try to grind on me? I pushed her away and she got all upset.

Nowadays I don't stand for anyone to touch me/my cosplays without asking first. Standing up for my cosplay work has helped me better stand up for myself.

Went to one out of curiosity at a con. My first convention I was targeted by a somewhat infamous player in my area who goes after petite white girls. I had never been legitimately hit on in my life until that moment so I was really flattered and excited at first (and I knew nothing of his record) but then decided I didn't want to deal with that. He kept calling and calling me after the convention though, asking if he could come over, asking ME to come over to his place, and he just wouldn't take no for an answer. So I started avoiding his calls. A month later I start college and join a club, and sure enough, hes in the club. Of fucking course. Starts hovering around me, constantly trying to touch me/put his arm around me, at one point out of nowhere kisses me on the cheek. It's all creepy as fuck and scared me to death, but he was eventually told off by a few people in the club and banned for doing this to other girls too. I stopped going to the club for the most part though just to feel safe, haha...

Ok I remember it. I was at a small convention, cosplaying something dragon-inspired from a popular series. Another girl cosplaying the same character came up to me and asked for a pic. While posing and waiting for the picture to be taken, I was suddenly grabbed and dragged away from behind. I turned to look who it was, and it was a shit-tier Goku cosplayer, who was yelling at me, "Come on dragon! I'm gonna make a wish!" I kind of just awkwardly laughed and shook him off, then went to go take the picture.

It was weird but I think it was funnier than anything else. Luckily all of my experiences that could have been bad have turned out with endings that didn't involve any injuries so I just laugh them off among my friends.

Are you worried about skin touching, or touching in general? If it's skin, you can find a lot of costumes that will completely cover you, OR you could go the Mecha suit way and wear armor and such.

If it's all touching, maybe you could ask a friend or two to come along and help? I did a group cosplay with someone who was allergic to sunlight, so we all helped him avoid light and held umbrellas when we were outside. It's not the same in the slightest, but the point is that friends can be really helpful. They may be able to give you a bubble and help clear away touchers.

Good question. Staying in Kill la kill, any general 'enemy' works too. Sanageyama is an option, since you could suggest he was defeated by Ryuko.

Any character that the girl character could be (or might strife to be) victorious over might work.

I'm not up to date enough with the current big shows. Is SNK still big? Characters that tend to be the butt of the jokes in fandom like Jean might convince some of the girls too. But it'll be a harder push.

I'm no 2hu expert, but since you mentioned you were into that. If any of the characters have in jokes of wanting to be the strongest/etc. (I think Cirno is one? I don't 2hu) suggesting a pose like that might go over well too.

Strangely enough I got molested more than my qt.3.14 girlfriend when we couple cosplayed Howl and Sophie at my request.
